Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Well aside from the disappointing result at least we are 18 games unbeaten now. Superb stuff really Although stating the obvious we could really do with an improved team performance for the Burnley away game now
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Wow, it's almost like you literally forget what you post about 5 posts above this one... too much babycham? Ok lets take you first point about making stuff up. The point Corky and myself were highlighting, was that at no point did I say the performances were good, or would be good enough for next season. It's seemingly a figment of your imagination that anyone actually said that. As for trying to take the high ground on "how old are you", it's probably best to not do that when in the post before you refer to someone and say "remain a rather deluded soul"... especially when you make up some strange point, that they didn't actually make. Hmmmmm...
MC Prussian Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 That game surely makes people start to realise that we need to improve big time if/when we go up. That was Yeovil. 2nd from bottom of the Championship and they matched us from start to finish. Yes, we'll look different next season, but most people suggest not massively so. Play like that and we will be mullered in the Premiership. I think we will get promoted. But our last two performances have been poor. And I won't be shocked to see Burnley come very close. I still think we'll be champions but come on boys, step it up again. No, they weren't. At least half of the chances that they created tonight were initiated by poor passing in our midfield, particularly by James and Drinkwater unable to connect and giving the ball away on a more or less constant basis. There never was any efficient, real build-up play up until the dying stages of the game. We were the creators of our own quasi-downfall tonight. The team cannot show this kind of "arrogance" in the remaining few league games.
MC Prussian Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 In that case I have no idea what you're on about. I thought the support tonight was excellent. Loudest for ages IMO. Col, in what dreamland are you living in exactly? There was no singing for about 90% of the match because everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was trying to figure out what the **** they were just witnessing on the pitch tonight.

Guest Col city fan Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Yes, I was there. Please identify how on earth you'd label tonight's support as the "loudest in ages". Read thru the thread. I've answered the question. L1 werent as loud as usual, other parts of the stadium were. I felt the fans really got behind the team tonight right until the end. Loudest I've heard in some time.I have no idea where some of your ideas come from bud. Genuinely none.

I felt the fans really got behind the team tonight right until the end. Loudest I've heard in some time. It started off well with L1 dictating the tone, and the Kop was loud on its own sparingly. But for most parts of the game, it was eerily quiet, with fans either shocked or gaspingly awaiting a breakthrough. It became loud again as the minutes were ticking away and a much-needed last support could be heard in the dying stages of the game, urging the team forward. For about 90%, the only chants I heard were coming from the Yeovil lot.

It wasn't all 'singing' of course, but it was highly vocal. Certainly from where I was sitting. I enjoyed the game cos I (wrongly) thought we'd turn them over. I enjoyed the tension and the atmosphere. Did you have the Man City game on your headphones? Just kidding..

I don't listen to other games during LCFC matches because frankly, I don't give a shit. The urging forward in the second half was occasional, certainly not constant. And never in a million miles "highly vocal". The only "atmosphere" that I sensed tonight was a general carpet of subdued silence, able to go in either direction if tipped.

casablancas Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Ok. So I thought Yeovil played very well and we were pretty lucky to get the draw. We had chances but no clear cut since Vardy in the first 5. I don't understand how people can moan about the support. The team really let the fans down, now I don't expect us to win all the remaining games. But I do expect a certain standard of football, some motivation and that dreaded passion word. But that lacked for the entirety of the 90 minutes. We were stale, no movement and our passing was piss poor I honestly understand where the frustration came from it wasn't a performance to lift spirits. But I think majority of the fans gave it their all SK1 was buzzing. For the record I think we will do Burnley 2-0.
red5 Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 We said on the way to the game we'd take 4 points from today and Saturday. There's no shame whatsoever in drawing with Yeovil and no big surprise either. What was surprising was the shit support I'm with col, I thought it wasn't bad tonight, All the shit support must have been around you
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I'm with col, I thought it wasn't bad tonight, All the shit support must have been around you good man! Tell that to MC..
Alf Bentley Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Our smug, pre-match arrogance made it a calamity waiting to happen and shows we've learned little or nothing since getting humbled by Sheffield Wednesday. Stringer and Young piss me off at the best of times but comments about beating Yeovil 7-0, about them being a "bad team" and about not needing to give them any great respect would have wound up any opposition. In fact they were like the team really and hardly made a single worthwhile point, in terms of analysis, all night. We seemed to have a bad attitude from the start in terms of ruthlessness and the longer the game wore on the more i wondered if anyone had the slightest idea tactically what the hell we were supposed to be doing. Certainly Young seemed bemused, and hard-pushed to even identify our later formation let alone how it was going to work although work it finally did in a fashion! The impression i got was that it was two points not just surrendered but hardly even contested for long periods. If this is the impression that you got from listening to the radio, I'd suggest that it says more about Radio Leicester than it does about LCFC. Some fans were full of smug, pre-match arrogance; presumably the radio commentators were...but in what way did that apply to the team/management? It was certainly a deeply flawed performance. Several players, particularly in midfield and attack, had exceptionally poor performances, and there was a real lack of urgency in the first half. However, some credit must go to Yeovil who were fiercely committed, well-organised, with stamina and enough about them to suggest that they'll stay up. Nonetheless, we had chances and half-chances throughout and spurned a hatful of them - and gave away yet another goal from a set piece (who was supposed to be closing the bloke down from their free-kick?!?). The BBC stats say that we had 31 shots, 8 on target (10, 4 on target for Yeovil). A lack of ruthlessness, I absolutely agree; the worst display by our central midfield for months... but not arrogance (except some fans/radio pundits, maybe). I'm just hoping that it was a one-off panicky performance and not one in a series. For God's sake, though, we've "learned little or nothing since getting humbled by Sheff Wed"?!? Apart from the follow-up defeat v. Brighton, we're unbeaten in 18 league games and top of the league!! As for the formation after the subs, I think it was meant to be 3-2-3-2, with Mahrez playing central behind Wood & Phillips, and Knocky & Dyer wide...admittedly, though, Knocky seemed to be playing every position on the pitch simultaneously in the last 30 mins!

d-vo Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 F**k me, being a foxes supporter on the other side of the planet makes for some sleepless nights and bleery eyes. god damn. Gotta pick up our game on the weekend, remember why we're here. *reaches for the coffee....
veezeeblue Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I only have this to say... last 18 : D W W W W W W W W W D D W W W W D D (dropped only 10 points of last 54) ... on to the battle of Turf Moor & stop whining
The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 March 2014 Author Posted 26 March 2014 Please... Not this AGAIN. Do you just want to pretend L and K were fantastic again then? Sweet it under the carpet?
AlphaMaleFox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Do you just want to pretend L and K were fantastic again then? Sweet it under the carpet? No, just don't tell me SK1 or any other home part of ground was so brilliant. One (Charlton) game wonder. What I could hear during all game, were Yeovil fans, just for their numbers a constant cauldron of noise. Great variety of chants from them, aswell. From our side, well... almost only: 'Leicester, Leicester,Leicester' and 'Come on Leicester'... Piss poor effort, lads .

Russell sprout Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Someone please assure me they were only joking on air and not being at all serious..... ?!?!? It was said tongue in cheek, though we all expected to win even stringer never really expected a 7-0,in the same way Alan young said we wouldn't lose for the rest of the season????????????
Corky Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Someone please assure me they were only joking on air and not being at all serious..... ?!?!? No, Stringer mentioned it to Shakespeare in their pre-match interview. It's on the LCFC Official YouTube page.
