wake up call

It's not the night to have an off day but we usually perform well in the really big games and that's what the next two are.

We got away with it tonight and I reckon we'll see a much improved display on Saturday.

What is more embarrassing is you posting this a couple of minutes after the match has just finished.

Not at all. It was ****ong dogs*it tonight.

Do not confuse the OP with me having a go at the players etc. This is how football goes. We as fans cannot afford to turn up expecting to be entertained from the off. Our effort as fans reflects on the pitch at times.

Our smug, pre-match arrogance made it a calamity waiting to happen and shows we've learned little or nothing since getting humbled by Sheffield Wednesday.

Stringer and Young piss me off at the best of times but comments about beating Yeovil 7-0, about them being a "bad team" and about not needing to give them any great respect  would have wound up any opposition.

In fact they were like the team really and hardly made a single worthwhile point, in terms of analysis,  all night.

We seemed to have a bad attitude from the start in terms of ruthlessness and the longer the game wore on the more i wondered if anyone had the slightest idea tactically what the hell we were supposed to be doing.

Certainly Young seemed bemused, and hard-pushed to even identify our later formation let alone how it was going to work although work it finally did in a fashion!

The impression i got was that it was two points not just surrendered but hardly even contested for long periods.

Absolutely agree about the support tonight, was fvcking embarassing, like spoilt childs because we're playing shit for the first time in a long while.

It will be unbearable when we hardly touch the ball against the likes of Chelsea and City next season.

when we beat burnley at the weekend all will be forgotten. everyone would've taken 4 pts from yeovil and burnley. we'll get that so everyone will be happy.

its the reason I don't bother looking at pre match threads. Fcukin cringeworthy fair play Yeovil. Hopefully it'll wake some of our fans up into realising its far from sorted

Year of the fox....

Just zip it

Are you about to tell me Nugent should've been dropped again?

Moron.

You can't blame the players and management for that, Stringer and Young are professional people on radio, not fans on internet forums.

The management will learn from this and the commentary duo should be a little more realistic in future.

We said on the way to the game we'd take 4 points from today and Saturday. There's no shame whatsoever in drawing with Yeovil and no big surprise either.

What was surprising was the shit support

shit support is to be expected tonight, was a lot of day trippers due to cheap tickets and current form/position, day trippers usually bring shit support, let alone when the only reason they've gone is because we're actually good now and they find us losing and playing badly to yeovil.

In fairness my general comments are aimed at L and K. I heard the Kop and SK1 quite often tonight which is more of a reflection l and k being crap rather than the kop being decent

That game surely makes people start to realise that we need to improve big time if/when we go up. That was Yeovil. 2nd from bottom of the Championship and they matched us from start to finish.

Yes, we'll look different next season, but most people suggest not massively so. Play like that and we will be mullered in the Premiership.

I think we will get promoted. But our last two performances have been poor. And I won't be shocked to see Burnley come very close. I still think we'll be champions but come on boys, step it up again.

This (promotion) is far from in the bag. Our fans need to get a ****ing grip n get behind the lads from the off. Not at 1-0 after 80mins. Wank support. Absolutely embarrassing.

Promotion is almost in the bag, youre the kind of guy who would love us to fail now just to shove your pessimism in everyones face

Guys, just thought I would have a quick glance of you're board to gauge some of the reactions ahead of Sat's match. I think a lot of posters need to get a grip. Your Manager (hope he is well) and players have been a class act this year and I for one can tell you that promotion is there.

Yes the Clarets are on a roll and just at the right time, however, you have too much class and a good Manager at the helm to let it slip now.

Get behind them and together we'll be meeting in the promised land next year. Saturday's game will be a cracker but whatever the outcome, both of us will go up

Good luck, enjoy the visit and I'm sure we won't be looking over our shoulder at "Arry the Twitch Loaner"

I back the team to go and put in a real performance this Saturday. There will certainly be no extra motivation needed, massive game.... this is what football is all about. Come on boys

Great post and thanks. The sooner both us and Burnley make promotion mathematically certain the better.

13 points clear with 24 to play for... promotion is pretty much assured. If we average just a point a game then QPR have to win 7 of 8, drawing the other with a swing of 20 in goal difference. It will take a collapse bigger than last season to not get promoted. Grow up.

Although I agree in essence, we were 18 games unbeaten and if fans don't think they ARE going to beat a team 23rd in the league then it's downright negative. You can remain wary of the opposition each game because this league is full of surprises but lets not over-egg this.

What I find bizarre is the hysteria from our fans who lose all faith as soon as things aren't going to script, luckily our players aren't like that. The sheer desire to not be beat in the closing moments against Watford, Forest and now tonight is spine tingling. We sounded utter muck tonight but they never threw in the towel. THAT is why we are going up this season if we continue with the same application, desire and team spirit.

In these 19 unbeaten games I think 2 or 3 games we've been under par, now that is exceptional at this level where that just rarely happens.

Posted

Col, you could easily say that our performance against Derby (who we could go up with) proves we can beat a top team and take on anyone.

These games happen, Hull had some last year and they are doing fine. You get games like this when nerves kick in and composure is lacking.

No shame but I think it was a big surprise to most people, we're top for a reason.

I really regret not making the first post clear that I was criticising the fans (l and k) in particular. Not the performance from the players. There's nothing stopping the fans doing as they please every single week, yet there's 11 blokes stopping us on the pitch.

Lets get the behind the lads from now on.

Outsung at times by 250 fans. Brilliant.

No need for panic, two below average performances (for us), but still not lost a game.

I have to agree with the op to an extent, it's a wake up call for all involved with leicester city, season isn't over and we don't need to get complacent this late in the day.

I cannot put my finger on what's happened the last two games, we have gone from a team brimming with confidence, to a side who are lacklustre and struggling to string two passes together.

I would like to think its pre promotion jitters, and the players have thought they just have to turn up to win, or they players have the burnley game in the back of their minds.

One thinks for sure we will have to have the real leicester turn up Saturday, or we will be pummelled, big bonus is burnley won't sit back and frustrate us, and it should be an open game, and one we hopefully win.
