some of you are never happy

ok so yesterday i made a post saying i would be happy with 2nd spot only for it to get the usual slating and stupid posts.

some of the replies were that you would be unhappy with 2nd spot and feel let down  ffs are you for real .

I remember when we finished last season some of you same posters were saying you would be happy with mid table this season as we would fall apart.

Then at the start of the season you were more than happy to get another play off spot , if i said to you at the start of the season that we will get promotion either via 1st,2nd or the playoffs 99 per cent of  you would have snapped my hand off and started saving for your prem season ticket .

And now we are nearly there top of the league and a slight chance we might drop to second and most of you are whining like we are in a relegation spot .

i just have one question

If it all went tits up and on the last day of the season we needed a draw to secure 2nd spot or we would drop into the play offs you would soon change your tune then.

sorry for the rant but i just cant understand how you can be miserable

i have been folowing us since 1985 and during the mon years went most home and away games and they were great, then i like most of you have spent ten years of what ifs and please let it be this season..

now that time is here and very close and i am chuffed to bits and could not care 2 hoots if its via 1st 2nd or playoffs as long as we go up .

People slated it because you said we should avoid winning the title so we don't come back down, as if that had any logic to it.

We're going up, I'd love the title but promotion will suffice, but nethertheless you've got completely the wrong end of the stick. You got slated for saying utterly stupid things, not for saying that 2nd was good enough.

Well said that man. We will always have those fans that will never be happy regardless what success we ever have. They love to have a moan though. FFS we have scored 70 goals, top of the table since Boxing Day, unbeaten in 18 games yes....18!!!!

Quite simply there is NOTHING to justify any form of moaning. Get real and just enjoy this incredible season that we are having. They don't come along very often

God help this forum next season when we are losing lots of games. The moaners will be out in force moaning because we are not challenging for champion league!!! Dear me.

what i actually said was 2nd would do me better than first because it seems that in previous years the team that finished runners up always seemed to fair better in the prem , i am not sure if thats because the team thats finishes top thinks they are much better than they are i dont know .

but at no point did i say we should lose enough games to finish 2nd lol how daft.

The reason i also posted that was because you see so many posts on here which are pointless facts and people posting theories and spending ages producing these plain stupid results predictor which tells them we will win the league by so many points,  WELL most of those predictors said we would get 3 points against yeovil so that didnt quite work out did it .

You take each game as it comes and trying to predict the outcome of other games does not work im a realist and a lifelong leicester fan but the difference is i dont let my love for the club rule my thoughts.

As far as i am concerned i cant predict the result against burnley and what will be will be but in my heart i hope we win and i DO think we will still be promoted , but i also think unlike many on here that our squad is quite a few players short of achieving survival in the prem and changes need to make regardless of how unpopular they are .

for me nugent would not cut it , vardy does not have the experience , we lack creativity in the middle and the killer pass which is needed in the prem , if your going to play a 4-4-2 then you need wingers that can cross a ball with deadly accuracy and while knockeart and mahrez seem capable on the right dyer is not the man to do it from the left. morgan and wassa have been great as a cb pairing but neither posses pace and will be totally raped by the likes of sturridge, aguero, walcott etc etc

but thats another story  :)

Must of missed those statistics and misread the part where you said 'seemed to fair better'

Id bé devastated if we didnt win the title, 1st has been our position for months! If burnley were too overtake us, id bé gutted. Weve come this far, why. Make silly comments like these now.

For me..Promotion is the target.

Finish 2nd = that..and I'd be more than happy.

It would be a shame to not take the title after being top for so long..If Burnley take the title?..then fair play to em.

I think some have got carried away with our position and forget anything can happen between now and May.

Prediction tables going on form are interesting..but..they are just that..a prediction.

The optimism about this season is contagious..but I won't get ahead of myself as I've said..anything could happen.

I've always said I'll celebrate when there's a "P" next to Leicester City..until that day..the champers will remain corked.

We're in a fantastic position with 9 games to go..the finish line is in sight.

Time to dig deep and finish it.

The reason teams don't do well in the prem is because they come up, loose games, sack the manager, replace the whole squad and the chemistry etc etc is gone. We on the other hand have a squad that needs a few players introduced, we won't sack Pearson and have the right type of pace and players to match the Premiership sides.

QPR are the prime example of this.

You can't buy team spirit & its a major factor when things aren't going so well!

Exactly. We arent the only team to of had an exceptional season. If we come 2nd behind Burnley then fair play to them as they have performed brilliantly just like we have. The sooner we get a P next to our name the better. Then we can focus on going up as champions. But the main is getting promoted.

I agree with the point that the teams that have been promoted runners up have done better than the champions in recent seasons; Southampton (Reading), Norwich (QPR) Hull, (Cardiff).

But those teams have done badly because of problems like; managerial changes, bad signings, average squads etc. Nothing to do with the positions to which they finished, just coincidence.

In some cases the play off winners have stayed up longer too (West Ham, Swansea) but then again they haven't always. There just isn't much consistency my friend.

I suppose it comes down to different types of fan.

There are the realists, the faithful, the hopeful, the unconditional believers and then the experienced war weathered who have been through most of the afore-mentioned emotional states in regard to the football club over many years and now quite simply will celebrate if and when it happens and until then have a range of emotions which often include pessimism.

But that's okay we all want the same thing just with different expectations, timescales and attitudes to defined success.

I want the title. I really do.

But after ten years of this tinpot league I really don't care as long as we get out of it. I remember being a yo-yo club but we're not even that anymore. The younger generation of our fans has never seen us in the top flight and Martin O'Neill to them is like Matt Gillies to me, just a legend people talk about.

In the words of Big Sam 'fans affect players'

We have gone 18 games unbeaten, playing some of the finest football the championship has ever seen with one of the best lcfc teams assembled in recent memory..

Yhen we have two iffy results (whilst still remaining unbeaten) and the ****ing doom mongers are out in full force.

Have s word wiv yourselves!

Lets support our boys with everything we have and stop with all of this negativity.

IM HAVING MY LUNCH.

Past statistics have zero impact on what will happen to us next season regardless of whether we finish 1st or 2nd. You've had a mare and the fact that you're persisting with this is embarrassing.

You included Cardiff and hull in your stats, which are unfinished outcomes. Not facts pal
