maynefox Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 I would possibly change Moore for RDL, I think he will be better defensively. Swap Dyer for Mahrez. Dyer too, he will be fresher and he posses more of a threat due to his sheer pace. There would be the only changes I would make to the line-up.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 Love dyer to bits but there is no secret to his game, I think for the rest of this season he would be better as an impact sub coming on for the last 20-25 minutes
foxfanazer Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 I understand peoples thoughts with using Dyer as an impact sub, pace against tired opposition and all that. For me though he struggles to get into games from the bench. I think we looked better wgen Dyer came on against Yeovil but he looked a bit lost to me. Ran into spaces where he was never going to receive the ball I think he is more effective starting games and giving defenders a headache right from the off. I'd start him tomorrow
Witch Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 Thought I'd create a topic as no-one has really suggested this. Was has been brilliant recently but some of you may have forgotten that he is 34/35, will he be able to play three games in the space of a week? Many of us could see a lot of the players were exhausted at the full time whistle on Tuesday. Moore is fit and personally I feel he's more solid than Was. Just wanted to know what people think. Don't worry about Wasyl. He is fit, he is strong, both mentally and physically and he is able to play three games in the space of a week. And he will be 34 in June this year, don't make him older than he really is
LAprice_ Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 I distinctly remember games where Wasyl was sprinting up and down the pitch in the 90th minute. I honestly think he's one of the fittest players at the club. Look at whenever we have a corner, after 'messing it up' he sprints back into position every time. For a man of his age I think his fitness is incredible; especially incredible considering the injury that kept him out for so long. Don't drop the Polish Tank!!!
AKCJ Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 One thing that Burnley don't have a problem with, is fitness of players. No-one's tired at Turf Moor (and Michael Duff is 36). Do you think that's a genuine advantage for Burnley, that Burnley really are fitter, or is it just rumour and fan nervousness because of the two draws? Believe me, we've a group of really fit players. Some fans like to use the "fatigue" excuse for out of form players (including myself, I won't lie). If we're beaten on Saturday, it won't be because your fitness levels are higher. It'll be because you played better on the day.
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 Yes. I think Morgan and Was are too similar. Moore is quicker, more fleet of foot and compliments Wes Morgan brilliantly. I also think Moore brings the ball out of defence better than Was. Not to take anything away from Was's performances. I think Wes and Moore a just are better partnership. I'd also think about getting Lloyd Dyer back in, but may actually drop Knocky rather than Mahrez.
Dickov22 Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 100% would bring Moore in for Wasilewski as he's a better player. End of I'd also bring in Lloyd for Mahrez just for his experience and pace. Can't believe people are suggesting Knockaert should be dropped, he's been fantastic. Never stops trying to make things happen.
RowlattsFox Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 Was has done nothing wrong so would be harsh to drop him, if anything it could be Moore for de laet. A week ago mahrez was first name on team sheet and now people are dropping him. Yeovil was the game to make changes, I'll be surprised if he changes it for this.
fuchsntf Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 I am 60, make love 100s of times, chase my grandaughter around the house, cook for my family sometimes. Go on bike tours.........and my kids want to put me on the subs bench, because I over boiled an egg a couple of times. Even though I can still catch the toast when it jumps up out of the toaster, and spread it with butter before it lands. Poor ol Wasyl...

Why would we drop a right back to play a centre back at right back? Won't happen. It would be unfair on Was as he's played well but there's no room for sentiment. Moore is better and we need our best team.

He used to play as a right back, but he is now a centre back, full stop.
Dickov22 Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 Wasyl IS a centre back. He used to play as a right back, but he is now a centre back, full stop. I know. I was referring to someone suggesting we drop De Laet for Moore I think Knocky has been off a little recently and believe that Mahrez may be a more cutting edge, even though he was poor on Tues. I think Knocky is having a great season. Mahrez is obviously talented, but Dyer's more experienced
Simonb Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 Id swap moore n dyer for mahrez n was. Possibly king for james too
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 Someone remind me, what has Wasyl done wrong?
Cotts Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 It's never going to happen, but I would've loved to have seen a Moore/Wasyl CB partnership at some stage this season. I love wes, but have to say this season he's often been the least impressive out of whoever he's been partnered with. Still has been brilliant for us though, so this isn't a dig.
Witch Posted 28 March 2014 Posted 28 March 2014 I know. I was referring to someone suggesting we drop De Laet for Moore Sorry, my mistake.
veezeeblue Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Evens ... but I´d have to go with Moore, got the edge in defensive role, still not sure about Was, sometimes gives attackers a yard too much in the box, check out Blackburn game for instance anybody else notice that?
Dickov22 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Someone remind me, what has Wasyl done wrong? Nothing, he's played well.
