dmayne7 Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Unfortunately I didn't really do anything, I just sort of went "yeeeeeaaaahhh" but it was definitely an anticlimax. This exactly. Yes I did, thought of my Dad who passed away 17 years ago.Dragged me round the country in the 80's.Me always falling asleep on the way back. Never forget him saying when we were in with the home fans at Old Trafford,if we score don't say a word.Lineker scored and he went ballistic.Miss you man. Though you almost made me cry then!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I'm a massive Tigers fan, but also a City fan, and have to admit to having a lump in my throat, when confirmation came of our promotion, and my eyes were a tad damp. It brought back all the wonderful memories of when I was a teenager, travelling round the country, and visiting tremendous stadiums, and watching us win games I never dreamt we would.
Kitchandro Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Great thread. I don't know what I'd do without my dad, none of my friends are really Leicester through and through and my dad is the only person I have a real connection with when it comes to City.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Without meaning to spoil the mood, I did, but not because I was happy that we were up. Instead it was because my first experience of promotion was staring at the minutes counting down on livescore.com on my phone rather than being at a match. Last season's experiences made me imagine how good promotion would feel when we finally got it. But frankly Saturday's confirmation was nothing like what I wanted or expected and I'm a bit upset by it tbh.
BoneDog Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I welled up. Felt a bit gay so went down town, got steamed and headbutted a bouncer. I've never met my Dad.
kingcarr21 Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I was in the car and pulled up on the driveway listening to the end of QPR bournemouth game. As soon as the whistle went i was buzzing jumped out the car cheering, ran in the house and grabbed my 3 month old son and danced round the house. He was smiling his little face off. I defo had a little tear in my eye. i cant wait to experience moments like this with my boy when hes older. i will make sure he is a die hard leicester fan.
Gary Eatfood Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Well come 5 o'clock on Saturday and once our promotion was confirmed my thoughts turned to my Grandad. He lost his battle with cancer last year at 83 at had been a loyal City follower all his life. Last year I really thought the club were going to give a him a City promotion to send him on his way but alas it didn't happen and he died just a few days after the play-off defeat. I shed a tear on Saturday knowing the joy that seeing City back in the top flight would have brought to my Grandad, rest in peace old boy and Up The City!
Houdini Logic Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I cried that Sky ruined our moment. I was praying for a last minute QPR equaliser

LeicesterBran Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I cried too. Went out on Saturday afternoon but, when I got back home on Saturday evening to hear the nice I burst into tears and was chanting.
lgfualol Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Agreed What a load of soft twats! Oh please teach me how to be as strong and independant as you guys.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I didn't cry when we went up but have been truly touched by some of the stories in this thread. I was lucky enough to pick the phone up to my dad when we had it confirmed and after reading some of the posts in here I appreciate it even more.
