davieG Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Superstars from the world of Muay Thai will return to King Power Stadium on Monday 5 May as THAI FIGHT WORLD BATTLE 2014 comes to Leicester City. In a spectacular celebration of Thai sporting culture to follow the overwhelming success of a sell-out THAI FIGHT EXTREME event in 2012, world-renowned Muay Thai exponents such as Sudasakorn Sor Klinmee and Antoine Pinto will be competing in a series of seven explosive fights. Leicester City Football Club Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprapha will be present to welcome thousands of fight fans to the exciting exhibition of elite fighters, which is being broadcast live on Channel 3 in Thailand. The crowd will then be treated to a stunning celebration of Thailand’s national sport of Muay Thai– a discipline that requires a phenomenal level of technical ability and has become one of the most popular martial arts in the world. Combining striking with the hands, feet, knees and elbows, as well as the incorporation of a host of sophisticated defensive techniques, Muay Thai fights offer up a wonderfully entertaining spectacle of technical excellence. All this means tickets are expected to be snapped up quickly by fight fans from around the UK and Europe, so make sure you book yours soon to avoid disappointment. The event will take place in a purpose-built facility in the grounds of King Power Stadium, which similarly to the 2012 event, will house around 4,000 people, and will run for three action-packed hours from 4.45pm. Among the elite-level fighters competing on the night will be: SUDSAKORN SOR KLINMEE, ANTOINE PINTO, LEO PINTO, KEITH McLACHLAN, IQUEZANG KOR ROONGTANAKIAT, CHRISTOPHE PRUVOST, YODSANKLAI FAIRTEX, SAMY SANA, BEN HODGE, HICHEM MENAOUINE, ANTHONY FERGUSON, ALEX DASS REY, JOSH PALMER AND BATYR KORGOLOEV. Tickets are now on sale for the event, priced between £15 and £45, and are available either online at www.LCFCDirect.com, from the City Fanstore at King Power Stadium or by calling the Sales Centre on 0844 815 5000 (option 1). Tickets priced at £15 will be situated in the back three rows of blocks B and C. Group bookings are also welcome. For bookings of 100 or more, please contact the Sales Centre direct. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the LCFC Foxes Foundation. Read more at http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/240414-thai-fight-world-battle-2014-1508547.aspx#bfHC5mKVrxM4r3Gl.99
StanSP Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Same day as the trophy parade. That'll be popular. That was my first thought . What time is the parade? If it's in the morning I suspect it'll be over by the time this event starts.
Matt Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Yeah i'm abit gutted about the timing/date of this, I was looking at going to this but expected it to be during the summer, closer to the start of next season. I'll considering going but doubt I will in reality. Should have done it on the Sunday. I guess it's not the club/the owners fault though, its the schedule of the tour I guess.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 The Parade route will end at the KP. Wasyl fights (and eats) the winner of the tournament
broughtonblue Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Unreported world tonight, channel 4 is all about Muay Thai boxing. Featuring children as young as 7!

Beliall Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Am I alone in thinking that securing visas is job one? Before advertising abroad

Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Not always that easy without an event to request the visa for! Yeah, so you organise the event, then get the visas and then you advertise it.
