A dog gives birth in a stable it doesn't make its puppies foals. Call a Polly a university its still a Polly, save your £6 for when you have no job because your degrees worth Jack.

So I assume you consider Colchester the capital of England then?

It's considered a uni because it received Royal Charter in 1992 - why does how recently it got university status matter? As it is, it's a very high quality uni in terms of research (http://rae.ac.uk/results/qualityProfile.aspx?id=57&type=uoa - matching cambridge for quality of research).

Colchester has never been the capital of England.Winchester yes. If you think a degree from DMU is worth anywhere near a degree from Cambridge in the real world then you must have gone to a polly.

He's right though lol

Cambridge degree is worth more than a DMU degree.

In my experience and with talking to others though, degrees aren't worth that much anyway, its all about outside uni stuff relevant to the job you want to do

Colchester was the capital of England during the Roman occupation and was superceded by London in AD100.

I didn't say that, I said that it was hardly a poor institution (and FYI I go to a plateglass uni)

LCFC tickets SOLD OUT – but 100 will be given away

DMU students and staff snapped up 200 tickets for Leicester City's sold-out game against Doncaster Rovers in just two hours this morning.

But don't fret, there is still the chance to get your hands on a pair of tickets for the game on Saturday, 3 May.

We are giving 100 tickets away on Wednesday. All you have to do is queue outside the DMU Campus Centre at 1pm on Wednesday.

You will be able to claim a pair of tickets for the game on condition that you have a staff identity card with you. Your staff ID number will be taken and these details will be passed on to Leicester City so they can contact you with future offers.

Tickets are given away on a first-come, first-served basis.

This is your big chance to cheer on City for the final time this season, and celebrate Leicester's promotion to the Premier League.

£35 to watch us v Donny now that's a joke

I bet people have paid more than that, we brought extra tickets in kop, £29 plus a £1 booking fee, so I would imagine the prawn sandwich stand cost more.

Just spent an hour and a half queuing, only to get two people from the front and be told they were gone. Gutted.

Should have got there earlier.

The other thing with this is that if the club are going to offer tickets to students (for whatever reason they feel they need to) then I wish they'd enforce it at the stadium.

Check that everyone attempting to enter on a student ticket has their student card with them and if they don't refuse them entry. That would then stop students taking advantage of the agreement for their own financial benefit and this black market of touting to genuine Leicester fans opening up. Anyone who can't prove they are a student at the turnstile, make them upgrade to the full price on the day or refuse entry and re-sell the seats at full price to people wanting tickets on the day.

The only people then buying these tickets would be people that want to see the match (students or otherwise) and not people looking to make money on them. It really pisses me off seeing students fleecing supporters wanting to go just because their Uni has agreed this link with LCFC. It's not what it's about at all.
