keyboard has stopped working. got a wireless keyboard with a usb reciever. USB reciever isn't picking up any signals, can't tell if keyboard or reciever is at fault. Tried changing batteries in keyboard, didn't help. How do i fix this or do i need a new keyboard?

edit: Computer detecting USB reciever, USB reciever not detecting signals from keyboard.

second edit: Turns out it is recieving signals, just very irresponsive (need to press button hard and hold down for it to register) - Anyway of increasing the key sensitivity?

keyboard gone again. Tried changing batteries, no use. Not even picking up when keys press down hard and held.

Have a look at the device manager to see if it's working ok. If not reinstall the driver or get a later version for it.

Edit I assume you have clicked the button on the receiver and the the one on the keyboard so they are compatible.

Have you rebooted the system?

Tried rebooting system - didn't work.

Tried res-yncing keyboard and reciever - didn't work. tried using keyboard with different reciever - didn't work.

Tried using keyboard with different reciever - didn't work.

Tried using different keyboard with reciever - didn't work.

Tried using different keyboard with different reciever - didn't work. (my sister has the exact same wireless keyboard set).

Tried using all combinations of keyboards and recievers with two other computers - didn't work.

Checked in control panel - says keyboard is working properly (that means it can't be a driver problem - doesn't it?).

absolutely stumped

From what you have said, I assume it works on your sister's computer. In which case it's an OS System problem. Uninstall the software it came with. Then reinstall it using the CD rom and follow the install instructions. The computer will then find "new hardware" and hopefully reinstalls it correctly.

Nope, she got fed up with it and started using her old keyboard (pin connector - think it's called a ps/2), but i don't have an old keyboard (had a laptop before the computer i've got at the moment) and i only have usb connectors for mouse/keyboard

I would still try downloading the latest software from the keyboard manufacturer and install it. They often recommend that you uninstall the old software.

I Googled "Wireless keyboard not working" and there are lots of people having the same problem. You might do the same but put the model into the search and see what others have done. I should also have a look at the FAQ section of the makers web site.

Cheers mate, doesnt seem to help.

Its so very weird, when i try to open somethings.. eg CCCleaner it comes up with the windows security box that says...

"your internet security setting prevented one or more files being accessed..."

it then gives a link to explain... "why cant these items be opened"... but that link ONLY talks about non trusted websites... but im trying to open an item from my desk top.. an exe file.

Grrr i either hate myself.. or windows..at the moment.. windows is a clear leader... Any other thoughts anyone PLEASE (its also stopping me from opening sopcast, now thats serious)

I've got a gammy K key, don't really know what is wrong with it, one side is hard to push down and the top half is easy to push down and doesn't work. Do i need a new key or is their a simple solution.

Ah, sticky keyboard syndrome - you sure nothing has been spilt on it? >_<

I'm guessing the solution is piss easy... sadly I dunno what it is, but no doubt someone (DB11) will be along soon enough to help out. :D

You tried taking the key out and cleaning it etc?

lol.

I have it all time time. Just get a needle or something and scrape around it, gets all the crap out of it. (In my case, crumbles Doritos)

Sounds like it isn't actually Windows but it is a virus that is pretending to be Windows security. Just a standard virus that you have to remove (but it won't let you open any potential virus removal programs, such as CCleaner). Try running your scans in safe mode.

got Kapersky Pure AVS on my pc - it keeps switching itself off. What's going on?

edit: A message pops up saying it needs to start application repair but when i click to start application repair it comes up saying it was unable to start - object not found.

problem solved for now - installed an update but with the regularity it's doing this - about 10 times in the last month i have no idea what to do - all those other times it's turned itself straight back on again.

You could try a "system restore" to when you last knew it was working ok?
