Carlos88LCFC Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Nigel Pearson already feels that his squad is capable of escaping relegation, with experience in defence from former England internationals Matthew Upson and Paul Konchesky and some exciting young talent in more attacking areas. Jack Barmby and Marc Albrighton have already arrived, while in Anthony Knockaert and Jeffrey Schlupp, Leicester City have two wide players with the capability of causing damage in the top flight. As ever, there will be doubts about the capability of strikers David Nugent and Jamie Vardy to score goals at the highest level, but finding a proven goalscorer without spending the big bucks is a difficult game. WHAT THEY’LL PROBABLY GET Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha made grand promises of £180million spending in order to break into the top five, but such wild statements have been tempered over the course of the last few months, and Leicester will instead look to play clever, using an effective scouting system to bring in young players from abroad, as with Schlupp, Knockaert and Riyad Mahrez. Leonardo Ulloa (Brighton) would appear to be the Foxes' obvious striker target. Nick Powell joining on loan from Manchester United also makes a good deal of sense. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The worst read on Leicester I've seen in a long time! Do you think Pearsons thinking... "We will be alright at the back we have Upson and Konch" who will both more than likely keep the bench warm! "scouting system to bring in young players from abroad, as with Schlupp" - When he was a kid he came over had a trial and got in the team didnt he? "while in Anthony Knockaert and Jeffrey Schlupp, Leicester City have two wide players with the capability of causing damage in the top flight." - Seem to be referring to him as a winger... Wheres the mention of Mahrez in this statement... Probably the biggest threat we have on the wing that can 'cause damage' to the Premiership Have they even watched us play!?
Captain... Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Also the owners didn't say they would spend 180 million this summer, but over the course of 5 years. Typical piss poor journalism.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Keeps Drinkwater and Matty James under the radar nicely!
Darkon84 Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Nowhere near as bad as that reaction suggests. We've all read far worse. It must just be a slow day for one of the reporters, so they've re-hashed an old article. Nothing to get your knickers in a twist about
lgfualol Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Also the owners didn't say they would spend 180 million this summer, but over the course of 5 years. Typical piss poor journalism. I hate that too, winds me up. 180m in one summer window? ****ing hell.
Libertine Dream Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Have I missed something? When did Powell sign?
Gary Eatfood Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 erm, it's not that bad. For an international broadcaster such as Sky this is pretty bad.
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 For an international broadcaster such as Sky this is pretty bad.Lets be honest, if an article like this had been posted during open football season, nobody would have batted an eyelid and this topic wouldn't even exist. Slow news day on here and at Sky! Roll on next month please!
sylofox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Did you not see the interview bit the other day where NP feels the players that came up are good enough to keep us up? No comments or anything looks to me like they have put about four stories together from the end of the season to date to make up a story. Then again can you blame them we seem to get fvck all info from our club.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Is Powell a confirmed signing then? I don't think they meant confirmed, it was a suggestion.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 17 July 2014 Author Posted 17 July 2014 I've read worse tbf. Not on sky! Maybe the sun or daily mirror with news reporters making news out of no news but this is sky! When ever someone comes up with a transfer rumour Sky are the ones who are really 'ITK' and that's were I check first every time I hear something. But this shows they know eff all about our squad! Grewks Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 A lot of it is factually incorrect, but it is nice to see a realistic opinion on nuge and vardy, considering how highly some rate them on here, especially nugent considering he was a better 'goalscorer' during his last failed attempt in the prem.

So NP is wrong too is he? Why would NP have given Nuge a new contract and offer Vardy an extention if he thought niether were upto it. No one knows at the moment if either are upto it but be nice if people supported them to start with.
fuchsntf Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Skysports and news, in backroom journalism, is absolute crap.In nearly every report it gets its facts wrong, when, they go out on the road.To make it worse, the poor presentation, of breaking news, goes on for hours. The various tickers, that are constantly displayed, for an International information agency, is poor & the mis spelling is outrageous. No editor seems to catch up on the day's repetitive failures. It is no longer a top sports channel. Its lost international football, its lost rugby. It reports and repeats so called breaking news, on low level London clubs, and is lazy bringing in reports, from the Provences. Its covering of the new Football World champions Germany was pathetic. London footballs clubs take up too much of their air time, when other top sports are taking place. I do like its F1 and England cricket coverage. Its never really reached the hights it first promised. I should imagine for expats like me, its was a sports information lifeline, amusing really being they tried for years, to prevent access if you wanted services overseas.
blue army 1988 Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Id expect that kind of article in the leicester mercury, not from sky sports news.
