Did you watch them in the sixties? I doubt it. I did, so I can compare them.

You left your brain there by the looks of things. Neil Ruddock wouldn't play premiership football in this day and age, he wouldn't be fit enoug and that's only going back 15 years.

There's stacks of evidence to show that athletes are fitter now. One example would be the improvement in times, distances jumped, distances thrown in athletics. Every event now has a better time/distance than it did fifty years ago. Rugby players weigh much more than they did before - there are more injuries because players are able to hit harder. Same with American Football.

I don't happen to have one specific to football but it's hardly going to be the case that every sport moved forward in terms of fitness while football didn't. I know it's not very scientific but you only have to look at the players to see they're in better shape than those before them. Ex-pros say how much stricter the fitness and dieting regime is now - how are players going to be in poorer shape when more is done in this area?

Great post.

Leicester: Cambiasso signed for two years Premier Arrives in with compatriot Pablo Alvarez

It really seems the final stages of negotiation Esteban Cambiasso and Leicester, training newly promoted to the Premier League. In the next few hours, according to the 'Mirror', will the signature of Cuchu on a two-year contract. The former Inter will be the "bait" also to convince his fellow countryman Pablo Alvarez of Catania: the Leicester thought of him, playing both right and left, to fix the defense.

There is thus a double deal for the team coached by Pearson, returned from an excellent debut in the league with Everton (2-2). After the farewell to Inter, Cambiasso has waited a few weeks before getting back in the game. He had contacts with some of Liga club (Valencia and Atletico Madrid at all), but he eventually embraced the project of Leicester, which inevitably will become the new hen.

Take your point Charlie, but Len Glover for example. Probably as fast as Dyer, and did it for a full 90 minutes. Plenty of other examples I could give.

What has become the typical day for the average Foxestalker:

1 - Wake Up

2- Open the Cambiasso thread knowing its full of shit but in the hope that there is some update on the transfer.

3- Realise quickly that there is no update, just more shit talk

4- Realise that you should have know better and that you wont waste your time on the thread again

5 - Repeat points 2-4 about 11/12 times throughout the day.

6 - Go to sleep.

Man per se hasn't evolved in 15 years it is football that has; Ruddock 15 years later would have a different mindset, different training regime, different tactical coaching, different diet.

Lenny was only ever that quick when he had a load of dodgy sheepskin coats in his boot !

On the subject of EC, within a week we will have a load of 'told you so' posts (but from which posters????)

Can't believe this thread is still going on... Is there anything we haven't spoken about yet? We minds aswell get them all cleared up before something has finalised with Cambiasso and we all no longer have to click on this thread lol

Agree 100% with the above, that was kind of the point I was making. Better sports science has improved speed and fitness in the modern game

How people aren't enjoying this thread is beyond me, it's legendary. It must go on, i've only ever signed one petition before which was to prevent The Pump & Tap from closing. I'm not having another failure on my hands, this is staying open. Long after he's joined us.
