Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 I know it's a long way away but with Mahrez and schlupp potentially missing January and First part of February if they qualify for the African Cup of nations, do you think Nigel will buy or loan a winger or will he give knocky a go?
Jimmy Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 with Powell, Knocky and Albrighton I think he'll go wit that for a monyh unless someone gets injured between now and then
Narborough_fox Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Albrighton, Knockaert, Lawrence and Vardy will probably be good enough for a month. Suppose if the right person comes along then we'll possibly go for them but I don't think we'll go after one.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 7 September 2014 Author Posted 7 September 2014 With both Riyad and jeff looking like our wingers ATM would you do with Albrighton and knockeart?
HEGGSY Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 With both Riyad and jeff looking like our wingers ATM would you do with Albrighton and knockeart?I'd personally give Lawrence a go. No reason and no logic, but I would
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 More concerning is the fact that the games these 2 guys will miss is ones we want to be at full strength for, they are games we have a good chance of picking up a lot of points withLiverpoolVillaStokeMan uPalace
Finnegan Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 I think anyone who thinks Knockaert has been frozen out is hugely over dramatising things. He's just had a poor start and been dropped to motivate him. I think Pearson's done pretty well to manage the kid to be honest.

AKCJ Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Based on their progression from Championship to Premiership for Mahrez and Schlupp and the slow starts from Albrighton and Knockaert, we'll struggle in January. However I think Albrighton and Knocky will get there, Albrighton is already proven at this level and Knockaert is worthy of the challenge and i'm sure he'll grab first team action with both hands. Not to worry lads, we've actually got a really healthy squad.
Finnegan Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 he may have been dropped for the Arsenal game partly as punishment but I agree he's far from being frozen out, he'll play a key role before the season is out for us Punishment for what? His form? That's not really punishment, it's just... if he's not up to it he isn't picked. I don't buy in to the punch shit and that French article was a load of bollocks.
FoxInTheBox89 Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 No I think he means punishment for what he supposedly said to the French press
MC Prussian Posted 8 September 2014 Posted 8 September 2014 No I think he means punishment for what he supposedly said to the French press There's nothing "supposedly" in that article, everyone can read it for what it's worth. I can't see said statements having a detrimental effect on his time on the pitch - he's lacking form pure and simple, and others are performing better at the moment. It's only natural and I'm convinced that he'll pick it up again soon enough.
Ribbo Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 He is. Missed a sitter apparently. http://www.reddit.com/r/AlgerianFootball/comments/2g0t2v/match_day_algeria_vs_mali9102014/ Streams on that thread if you fancy it.
ealingfox Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 What are they doing playing so late in the international break? Surely this means we can't really play Mahrez on Saturday, it's basically two days away.
st albans fox Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 What are they doing playing so late in the international break? Surely this means we can't really play Mahrez on Saturday, it's basically two days away. almost as disgraceful as your counting ealing !
ealingfox Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 almost as disgraceful as your counting ealing ! Is it? It's Wednesday night. Thursday and Friday = 2 days, and the game is on Saturday... I did say 'basically'. He won't train tomorrow so will only have Friday to prep if he's even back in Leicester. As for the game - 0-0 at HT, a drab affair, RM not doing much but has pulled out a couple of tricks on his opposite number. He got hacked down near the Mali box and did a few rolls and I almost vomited with fear. Seemed alright though.

It goes both ways - I think gaining international experience (apart from the odd WC appearance) is worth it and it'll make Mahrez even better. Also, Stoke's Mame Biram Diouf featured for Senegal away at Botswana tonight and there's question marks over his availability for Saturday's game, as well.
Ashley Posted 11 September 2014 Posted 11 September 2014 Algerian lads at work said he got th3 assist for the goal.
Andy King Power Posted 11 September 2014 Posted 11 September 2014 Algerian lads at work said he got th3 assist for the goal. http://youtu.be/wgQnBpauVAU?t=3h19m41s (No sound for this bit) Got it off his free kick, so is credited for the assist. Going by all reports, aside from his shocking miss, he was very lively and he created many opportunities (At least two golden chances that weren't taken by their strikers). I think in all matches I've seen him in, he's either been the one that made the assist himself, or had a big hand in the play. Heck, he took the corner against Armenia that lead to a goal. So he does have some idea how to take a good set piece (Many bagged him against Chelsea for that corner).
fridoux Posted 12 September 2014 Posted 12 September 2014 Mahrez played 15 minutes against ethiopia and had an assit in a 2-1 away win , 3 days later he played the whole game and had another assist for a 1-0 home win against Mali.
