HEGGSY Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 What impact has this had on the silver market? What's the max listing price now for, say, Muriel?Still ridiculously highDybala: Min - 80k Max 110k Muriel(Udinese Version) - Min 50k Max 80k Muriel (Sampdoria) - Min 80k Max 110k Reason being, EA said they decided what the range would be, based on past market trends, so if a players price has always been high, the price ranges will be high also, regardless of whether it was a silver or not
GLC Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 It looks like they got them in before the servers went down. But before this, you had 6+ pages of Ronaldos, now you have 6 cards only! I have Ronaldo so it doesn't really affect me, but the market is ****ed! I'd be surprised if you see a TOTY player on the market in a weeks time

They should have used it as an opportunity to cut down on some of the more ridiculous price fixing.
GLC Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 This post on Reddit sums it up perfectly... I've honestly never seen in my life such a money centred , self - contentment orientated company in my entire life that even compares to the literal joke that is EA. What was in this update then? -Price Caps. A minimum and maximum price limit. All players are now priced by EA. What does that mean in turn? No Coin Sellers/Buyers. I can see that many of you may be pleased about this part. However , with these caps , you will forever be forced to gain coins from playing games , opening packs with FIFA points ( more ££££ for EA ) until you have enough. Let's put this into perspective. Ronaldo. Ronaldo's minimum price limit? 6.2 million coins. If you got him the only way that doesn't involve buying the scam that are FIFA points , you'd have to play games. On average , one game lasts around 20 minutes and gives you roughly 450 coins at the end. Do you know how long you'd have to play to gain enough coins to buy ronaldo? you'd have to play 13777 games. Do you know how much time that is? 275540 minutes. 4592 hours. 191 days. 27.2 weeks straight. That's over half a year of nothing but playing games to afford Ronaldo. And guess what is the literal only other alternative to obtaining said Ronaldo? Packing him. How often do you hear about people packing this guy? not very often. And how would you buy packs other than grinding match after match wanting to pull your own hair out? FIFA points -----> straight into EA's bank account. It's genuinely disgusting. But surely you can trade to get these cards , no? Think about it. You or anyone on UT opens a pack , to be surprised when a half decent card or more pops up on their screen. They are going to want to get the most coins out of that card as possible , considering what they did to get it ( either spend half a year playing games or sell a kidney or 17 ). And how much can they possibly get for it? whatever the price cap is. Everyone is going to have this mentality , meaning players will always remain at the top of their price cap. Someone wants to sell a card instantly? they'll drop it by one mark (eg list a card for 490k when all the others on the market are at 500k , the limit). That's the lowest prices are ever going to get. But surely you can bid on players to get them for cheaper , no? Nope , EA stated in this tweet that open bids are no longer a thing. Trading and coin buying is utterly destroyed. After some brief skimming of some of the many problems EA has in their laughable game , what do they think will come of it? It is listed in a link from a tweet that this will bring a 'more level playing field'. This honestly put me on the verge of spitting my drink out. How on earth is this going to bring a playing field? stop and think for a second. Millions of people have already bought coins , and thus incredible , borderline unbeatable teams. Now , obtaining enough coins (other than throwing your wallet into EA's greedy hands) to buy players/ a team capable of even giving these sort of super teams a chance at all is now near impossible. http://www.reddit.com/r/FIFA/comments/2yh7qe/lets_just_sum_up_eas_update/
stix Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 People were always gonna moan about this, and its unfortunate for those that earned their coins legitimately that their squad value has more than likely decreased because of it. Maybe EA should have just waited until fifa 16 to make the change but something definitely needed to be done. My guess is that fifa points will be cheaper in the next one, not much, but cheaper, and the prices of players will probably be set to the fifa 13 days. Maybe coins earned from games will increase as well. EA can afford to drop the price of fifa points now they have eliminated every other form of getting coins. Whether they do or not is another matter.
Frost Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Buying coins is so sad, whether from a website or EA. It'll be better on FIFA 16. Never bought coins so I was never going to (realistically) ever get a world-class side with Neymar, Ronaldo or Messi.
stix Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Ea reduce prices? lol Yeah yeah I know, unlikely. Maybe if enough people boycotted ultimate team on fifa 16 then they would be forced to. This backlash from the fans reminds me of the union at my work. On the shop floor everyone is "Yeah! F*** 'em! Let's have an overtime ban! F*** it! Let's strike! I'm not working like this!" Then in the union meetings when it comes to a show of hands everyone just looks at the floor! People will still keep buying fifa no matter what EA do.

Thing is that if EA dropped the prices of Fifa points and pack's and gave the player a realistic chance of getting decent packs we probably wouldn't have all these coin sellers.

Yeh but that is extremely unlikely I'd say. Its a shame the game mode is so restricted.
Ashley Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 If you buy coins you're a bad kid in my eyes it only encourages the shit fifa players to be sweaty little **** wits and go for the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Bale etc
Swarles Barkley Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Ok I understand why there is a price ceiling. but why is there a price floor. there is no advantage to the seller at putting a player on the market for 150 min price. surely if they remove this lowest possible price, then it would be more likely to get a decent player on the cheap and make the market more entertaining
GLC Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 If you buy coins you're a bad kid in my eyes it only encourages the shit fifa players to be sweaty little **** wits and go for the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Bale etc I can see why people would buy coins! if you use them to open packs you get a much better return for your money! 12k fifa points = 80 packs 2 mil coins = 260 packs Before the cap, you could buy 2 million coins for £5 - £10 on Ebay. that's mental!

GLC Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Yeah but you're obviously going to be pro coin buying. why am i?
Soar Fox Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 It would be actually quite good just to play a fvcking game on ultimate team. This Fifa has been ridiculous.
stix Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 I suspect it's because you claim to have packed almost every single top player in the game. Therefore you must have opened literally 1000's of packs. Nobody is that lucky I'm afraid. And before you start bleating.....you're right, you don't have to prove anything to anybody. It all just seems a little coincidental.

I have opened packs with fifa points as well. i'm not gonna lie and say i haven't spent money on packs Edit: i've not spent silly money, roughly £200

GLC Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Not silly money in comparison to youtubers and people like that, but silly money when you think the game itself is £50. That's no different to buying DLC though. The way I see it, I earn enough money to spend a little bit on packs here and there. I don't tend to go in to town as I've never really liked it, i rarely drink or get takeaways and my fiancée is perfectly fine with it. I don't think id spend anywhere near the amount on Fifa as some people do!
Ashley Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 You could just be better than them if you come up against them, not impossible. Correct but players are over powered on FUT. Just like me beating someone who had Roma earlier with me being Southampton. Went defensive and set counter attack he didn't know what to do. Bless.
Devonfox1884 Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Never bought coins or FIFA points, still have a really good team though due to lucky pack pulls (having bought the packs with saved up coins) From 7.5k packs I've pulled: Aguero (86) Bale Neymar (86) Schweinsteiger Lewandowski You don't always have to throw money at things to make them good.
Stadt Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 I bought coins for the first time about 2 weeks ago, I was sick of scrambling around for shitty players against the same boring prem team so I got £1.5 million for £6, unsurprisingly I enjoyed the game a little bit more. You shouldn't have to buy coins to enjoy it and I know I only contributed to the problem but EA made a rod for their own back by being greedy bastards.
Buzzell Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Why would anyone buy Fifa points when you can buy 2m coins for just over £2? Like I've said in a previous post, EA need to drop the price's of Fifa points and be more generous on pack's.
