VinceNoir Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Played a few games now and I think it's alright. Dribbling does feel a bit clunky, but maybe it just takes some getting used to. I like the new presentation in team management, however, it lagged quite a lot when I was changing formation etc. Really like how you have more choices from corners now. Near post run, crowding the keeper, controlling the receiver is good and certainly something the series needed. There are a few flaws, but overall it seems quite good and certainly an improvement on 14. Looking forward to the full game.

New animations have made lob through balls harder to use which is nice but on the floor through balls seem easier, maybe in the full game they'll be harder! I'm glad crossing and heading the ball is harder, FIFA 14 it was so easy to score from a cross with anybody even if a CB was marking you but it seems like now I only got good chances on crosses with Ibra and Costa so much more realistic

I've noticed that the keepers have been improved when dealing with finesse and 1-on-1s but long strikes they are terrible, I hit a shot with Costa maybe 35 yards out and It was a centimetre from Mignolet but he just left it so it went in, hopefully they fix the keeping when dealing with long shots, only special strikers and deflections tend to go in from range!
Haydos Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Played against my housemate for a couple of hours last night. First impression is good. It feels like the biggest change for a while. It looks brilliant and the presentation is excellent. Little touches like the crowd not looking all the same and that if you check replays you can actually see players grab handfulls of shirt. The passing feels more realistic, it doesn't feel like you can ping it about at 100mph with players instantly making 1-2's etc seems more realistic. It just feels and looks more real. I also liek that the world class players are a bit over powered. As long as it's balanced well it will be good to have them dancing around, squeezing through gaps and riding tackles. Also using manual passing and having Iniesta play a ridiculous outside of the foot throughball through that midfield and seeing it bend into your strikers path felt awesome do to. First bad point would be that we had at least 1 injury in every game we played, hope that is toned down. Second would be that the defenders sometimes feel a bit stupid when in control and not in control. Things like not intercepting balls that pass them by inches or moving the wrong way when you select them. Often they don't feel strong in the challenge either, a lot of smaller players just waltzing through but that might be a technique thing. I like it so far, but that seems to happen with every new Fifa until the inevitable bugs and annoyances become obvious.

Same kind of thing happened to me. I lobbed Joe Hart from 35 yards using LB + Shoot, just had a feeling he'd be a bit off his line and was running away from goal so went for it and it drifted into the top corner. Checked the replay and although he was about 8 yards off his line, he takes 2 steps forward after I shot and then starts backpeddling. He was nowhere near it in the end but reckon a keeper irl would have tipped it over easily. Maybe it's just Joe Hart
Grandad. Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 I can join in the moaning now, one thing that really annoys me about the FIFA games are that Liverpool always attack the Kop in the first half. Demo is ok, not a great deal of change and I will be investing in the actual game.

Clarkielcfc Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Really pleased with this demo, IMO a big big improvement on previous games! Visuals are fantastic, and for me, the gameplay is much better, really enjoying this one! Can't wait to breeze past some full backs with Mahrez now !

I think that people are going to have to get used to another (more realistic change) As a serial rusher-outer myself I was getting loads more success backing off attackers and directing them away from goal before jostling with them and a couple of shirt tugs. Just rushing and block tackling is harder and you may get turned by the really good players but if you hold position and time things right it's much easier. Crowding players out was another tactic as the one-on-one defending was quite difficult.

I played a through ball to Sturridge when all of a sudden Kompany and Demichelis parted like the Red Sea. Very unrealistic and happened a few times already. That could be improved on.

So I basically have only played the Liverpool vs Man City game. Mine works fine. So far I've found man city are rubbish on this, I beat them 4-0 with Liverpool and then couldn't win with them. Chelsea and Liverpool both seem very well balanced sides though, Gameplay doesn't seem much different but the presentation is fantastic.

So I basically have only played the Liverpool vs Man City game. I had the exact same problem. I've uninstalled it and may try a re installation. I'm in two minds to get this. Not had Fifa since 12. I may wait to see what pro evo offers first.
Fat Mac Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 It's strange that in 2014 I'm excited about a football game because defenders can defend headers. The biggest flaw of the last game seems to have been fixed which is a good sign.

Just crossed it to Ibra who I had moved outside the box and thwack volleys it in the top bin! Next game the exact same happens with Coutinho crossing it to Gerrard this time. Foot like a traction engine.

I started playing the Liverpool v Man City game, i somehow went 2-0 down. i manage to get ut to 2-2 in the 89th minute, my keeper comes up and headers the ball passed Joe Hart, it was cleared off the line and then Sturridge gets taken down in the box. Lambert steps up and scores and i win 3-2! Epic
