CosbehFox Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Finally got round to watching the match in full, the best way to describe it for me was it looked like Leicester reverted back to a Championship playing style, by that I mean the game looked like something you would see in a Championship game and not what you expect from a Premier League game. Quite a few long balls and defensively you were all over the place at times, there was no cutting edge or pace like yous had last week, I think you deserved to get beat, however I'd imagine it was more a one off rather than a normality performance. It shows that there are no easy games in the Premiership, Leicester will be fine this season I feel. Your home form is what will keep you in the league. Palace played deeper therefore we couldn't use our pace as well as week previous. We effectively played strikers as wingers killing all width which also left the full backs exposed. For the first time we had to break down a defence rather than counter attack mistakes and we failed.

It's going to happen more often as well, it's something NP will have to work out very fast or teams will use it against you more often. No longer will you been seen as the 'newly promoted' underdogs. Rightly so, teams are going to take you more seriously, not just because of the a United result but because of your explosive start this season.
ealingfox Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Sounds like a bloody shambles tbh. Sack off the diamond for next week, much like the lightsaber its only effective against other lightsabers.

pazzerfox Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I was always worried we'd look poor against Palace and we did. The euphoria of last week was always likely to be shattered by a reality check. Now I am not suggesting by "reality check" we have been fortunate until this week. More that we've been playing out of our skins since the season started - a poor showing was bound to happen eventually (all teams have bad days) and funny as it seems I think its sometimes the case that matches you feel you might get something out of on paper are often harder to do so than games where you're almost written off before the games start are. (Perhaps this was the first game the players felt the extra burden of expectation on their shoulders). I don't think we were helped by a game plan that didn't seem to work. NP had obviously thought he'd identified a weakness with the direct diagonal balls - or perhaps just wanted us to get the ball quicker to Vardy hoping he would get on the end of enough to cause problems most of the match - but that didn't happen. With hindsight we might have been better in a 4 - 4 - 2 to give our full backs more cover doubling up challenges from their front players, and utilizing the pace of Vardy and our wider players to hit them fast on the counter ... What I think is important now is we show our support even more. One bad day in the office is something to get used to in the premier league ... even the big teams lose and look poor some days ... its important we drown out the opposition crowd against Burnley and we wipe the memory of this Palace game with an emphatic win. Lets not get on the backs of any player because of one match - lets remember we have 8 points from 6 games and we're in the top half of the league. Good post that man.
pazzerfox Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 De Laet is good going forward. Had we been more in the ascendancy, Richie would have been pushing on more, causing Bolasie to back track (his weakness). Unfortunately we did not attack with the gusto that we did against Man U. Fair play to Palace though, they denied us room in behind and were strong physically and defensively.
suffolk fox Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 It was the vile gold kits fault! Agree totally with this comment that gold kit is absolutely shocking the people who come up with our kit ideas want shooting why copy Cardiff too with that red number? Can we go back to white tops with blue piping and edging please?

Chug Laguna Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 I've never seen such a parade of gloriously jiggling male breasts as highlighted by the gold tops Plus how Konch's name was ironed on all the way out over his sleeve. Top class quality.
