Palace Post Match (2-0 Defeat)

Far too many players had an off day today such a shame we weren't on our game but you have to credit Palace for getting at us and making it difficult they did their homework on us.

be real.

"Awful performance"

"appalling performance"

We lost an away game in the Prem.

you need to not sound like other supporters.

Maybe you actually believed the hype you were spouting after the Manure victory.

This is the worst post I've ever seen.

Can people not criticise performances now? It was dire and each of the players will tell you the same, doesn't mean there's no sense of perspective in the long term.

I'm a huge Pearson fan and still have entire faith of everything he does, sorry, I just feel like I have to put that - I've read the post above mine and none others and it seems like people are criticising others for shooting that performance down today.

Get real. We were ****ing woeful. Seriously disappointed to go from playing like we did last week to being completely Warnocked the next week. I'd like to think it was a blip.

We are going to have days like this in the Premier League unfortunately. Today was our worst performance of season so far and it looks like we still haven't rectified the problem of conceding sloppy goals from set plays. And we weren't threatening enough attacking wise either.

Anyway, let's hope we can put it right against Burnley next.

1st bad performance from Pearson in over a year, out thought and out played but we are going to lose away in the prem, it is just fact. Need to be flexible tactically fromnow on, not blasting our NP however, trust him to make it right next week.

this is the first time i've watched us lose on a saturday night highlights programme for almost a year. should've gone bed

It seems Hammond lost both headers that lead to the goals. I won't comment on his overall play. But if he can't compete for headers... don't be in the dangerous areas!

Pearson got it wrong from the start. I think he was guilty as the players in believing after last week all we had to do was turn up.

He should have known Warnock would have Palace wound up. They played a powerful and aggressive game plan which worked well.

How Pearson left De Laet on against Bolasie when he should have taken him off early and put Was on to see would he try and rough him up.

Drinkwater needs to up his game also. To many sideway passes and no through balls. I would have taken him off before Cambi.

Vardy was reading too many papers during the week and believing the hype. Had he played Nuge in when he should have who knows what would have happened.

We need a solid strong ball playing midfielder as what we have are too weak with the exception of Cambi.

Can't wait for next week.

Oh the ref was a complete nobhead who bought absolutely everything they did (which is quite embarrassing considering they're managed by Warnock). I do think we should've had a penalty but Vardy's theatrics last week have probably cost him. It was more of a penalty than last weeks.

Not blaming him though. A poor ref doesn't excuse failing to assert yourselves for ninety minutes. We wouldn't have scored if we were still playing.

I'm not sure you can blame NP for the result? We had plenty of possession all game but we looked and played flat, no urgency or sense of trying to create something. I'm not sure the Manager can factor that in although I guess he has the ability to make good tactical changes which I think he didn't get right yesterday. When Cambiasso was on he at least looked like he could create but I don't think anyone in front or out wide bought into that and subsequently we had no chance of decent supply to the likes of Ulloa. Not sure why he took him off when he did?

And had we stuck one or two of those first half chances from Vardy then we most likely would have had all 3 points.

It was Palace away, not an easy game and one they would certainly have pencilled for a chance to collect points and they built their side and tactics very specifically to do that...it worked.

Our formation was wrong, tactically it didnt work out and too many players had off days (or were well beaten by their opponent).

We needed a Mahrez or Knockeart on early to cut them open when we went forward.

Far from the end of the world, but a chance to learn and improve, next week is a BIG game!

Im not in any way disheartened, this is the premier league! better team won. lets keep the KP a fortress and stick it to Burnley next week.

NP said at the start of the season that the players would have to adapt to the challenges of the PL. IMO we've exceeded expectations so far but the process of getting used to playing teams at this level and the various challenges they bring isn't complete.

We have a method of play that has served us well but if we are not adaptable to different challenges then it will make it easy for opposition managers to set up against us. Palace had success with their tactics yesterday and executed them well, a fact which should not be lost on other PL managers whose teams are likely to end up in the lower half of the table.

There were some poor performances yesterday but that will happen; the same players that were below par yesterday could be right back on form by next weekend. I expect NP to select a team and formation designed to give us the best chance of victory; we need to keep the points flowing over the next few matches.

We were pretty poor but palace weren't much better. If it wasn't for set pieces it was a very even game in overall open play. Need to be more dominant in our own box

Irrespective of whether we got the tactics or team selection right, if you think Pearson ever thinks "all we have to do is turn up" you can't have been watching City over the past two seasons (or the two when he managed us before that). He'll be seriously p!ssed off with the performance yesterday, and Burnley are likely to catch the backlash.

The manner of the goals conceded were the main disappointment for me. So far the goals we've let in this season have been pretty unavoidable and quality goals. I hope we don't start slacking from set pieces else it could be a very tough season indeed.

Wrong formation, I said 4-3-3 would not work and I was right. Couldn't have got our tactics and substitutions more wrong if we tried. Frustrated as Palace aren't very good.

I think you're right about the formation, as 442 would have given us more cover in the wide areas.  This was their main threat.  I do think Palace are a good side though, very strong, well organised, very hard to break down.  They should survive quite comfortably.

And the opposition box. We never look dangerous from corners, where palace looked like they could score from every one.

Tbh, I think Palace could have won by more. We had a couple of chances, but they were dominant. We had more possession, but that was because all we did was pass it around at the back the whole time, and we didn't look remotely threatening 99% of the time. It wasn't an "even game", and they didn't only win because of set pieces. We got lucky IMO, could have easily been more.

As for the atmosphere, we could have been so much better. Decent start, but why did we have to stop making noise once they had scored?

NP didn't enjoy his Radio Leicester interview! Maybe Stringer has a better relationship with him than I thought after listening to him with somebody else.

Truly a most horrific non performance.

I wish to hell I hadn't gone, and felt badly let down. Most Championship sides would have beaten us yesterday. We looked slow on the ball, disjointed, and back to our woeful selves in dealing with set pieces!

Cambiasso was our only decent player, but one man can't win matches on his own.

Time to move on, and hope for a 99% improvement against Burnley.
