Bettsj2 Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 If it clashes with Brit Cops - Zero Tolerance it's just not going to get any viewers.
bovril Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 New signing? http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/arts/tv-radio/article4250739.ece Bet she still has a smaller turning circle than Nugent.
digitalalba Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 The title poses many questions. Why isn't Leicester British? What is British? If it is not already, how can you make a city become British? Is it 'racist' to ask people who don't want to be British, to become British? Can someone who isn't British, become British? Will the programme show Leicester in its true light? Channel 4 are only allowed to exist as a broadcasting company, if they produce multicultural content in a positive way. This means, that they would only put this programme on their channel if it shows multiculturalism in a good light, and that means, that when it came to finding participants, they would only select those that they felt will give them that outcome. Do we deserve the real Leicester?
ADK Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Since I've lived in Leicester I can't really say I've had a problem with immigrants of any sort. We've had this historic big influx of Ugandan Asians and now, with the East Midlands being a large logistics hub, a greater proportion of eastern European immigrants. Any issues with migrants come down to economics.
Rincewind Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 However it is shown there will still be complaints as demonstrated by the assumptions about how it is going to be shown. It will either be 'too liberal and lefty' from the right and 'too racist' from the left. I have not had a great deal of experience with the multiculturalism in Leicester but those I have met from other backgrounds I have had no problem with. I do not seek out the negatives in others. There are several publications available from different outlets in the City including the Tourist Information office showing the wide number of events that goes on where anyone can join in. If a person has a preconceived view of other people without meeting or experience of what they are about then they are the ones that lose out.
MooseBreath Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 I'm not talking financially. What are you talking then?
Rincewind Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 I will leave you in suspense on this one Moose.
MooseBreath Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 I will leave you in suspense on this one Moose. Exactly what I expected. Your post was like the breakfast show on Meaningless Platitudes FM.

If a person has a preconceived view of other people without meeting or experience of what they are about then they are the ones that lose out. It will definitely not be 'too racist', unless you look at it from the English/white/British point of view that you feel you are loosing your city/country, but those people don't matter, despite the brief clip that we'll see tonight from them. And that nicely brings me to your latter points, to the above mentioned, it is not about disliking the other races and cultures of people, it's about preserving the traditional view point, something that gets completely and deliberately ignored by the mainstream politicians because it would show them to be the racists that they are.

How can something that has a different definition for every person be 'lost'? And I'm sure it's possible to preserve traditional viewpoints while making progress and interacting with other world cultures. Of course, it does depend on what exactly those 'traditional viewpoints' are.

Of course, it does depend on what exactly those 'traditional viewpoints' are. Don't understand your first point. It is possible, but in order to do so, we would have to reverse mass immigration, because the view point is an English city/country. What's happened to this city and country, is political and social genocide by the mainstream political parties. In time, they and their friends will be put before the Hague and they will be found guilty. The irony is, that those who'll be up, created the law.
MooseBreath Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 EdL in da house. Get rid of da immo's, den we'll all rock up in Holland to hang da bad man politicians.

LCFC Rennie Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Absolutely bonkers people on here. Embarrassing.
promised land Posted 3 November 2014 Posted 3 November 2014 Single mother on benefits, say no more. If people come to our country, speak English and work for a living I am all for it but coming here to sponge of the tax payer then no. Wind back to the 60's they all came here to work and make a better life for themselves, how times have changed.
