Howard99 Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Pearson was unable to sign a lot of players in the summer due to Terry robinson being under clear instructions from the owners not to overspend. Lloyd dyer was a player pearson wanted to keep but we didn't manage too. Pearson wanted mcgoldrick. We got no new striker (after ulloa) Relegation is not an option for the owners - pearson and coaching staff is under severe pressure to keep this club in this division and I feel the pressure is starting to tell. Our defence is championship standard. We have various players on 4 year contracts who aren't performing. We have lost all our confidence. Our next game is Southampton away.
Mark_w Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Our next game is Southampton away. I agree. The rest is factless bollocks though.
Howard99 Posted 1 November 2014 Author Posted 1 November 2014 I agree. The rest is factless bollocks though. Ah right! So who was bidding for mcgoldrick? The owners.
Kitchandro Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Well, frankly, if anyone is suggesting we're going to go down because we didn't sign McGoldrick or keep Dyer they're not worth my time. Pearson's squad is fine, it's his tactics that are costing us.
Mark_w Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Ah right! So who was bidding for mcgoldrick? The owners. You're saying we didn't get them because the owners weren't willing to back Pearson and you have no evidence to support that. Nigel could have said 'I'd like McGoldrick, but not if he's going to cost more than £X', you have no idea, no proof and nothing to make any of us believe you know what you're talking about. You're an absolute genius when it comes to reading the fixture list though, I'll give you that.

No one.

Pearson was backed to the hilt in the summer and got all signings he wanted. He is under no pressure and relegation is fine with owners.

jmono84 Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 We just seem to concede way too easily... Their goal was a simply straight pass from the middle if the pitch to a striker who plenty of space in our area, we are leavin way too many gaps at the back for teams. Dont think we are far off but we have to stop conceding first and pearson has too look at the way the team defends

Pearson was backed to the hilt in the summer and got all signings he wanted. He is under no pressure and relegation is fine with owners. Did I say everything is going to plan? No. But Pearson was backed in the summer. He may not have got every signing he wanted, but which manager does? I don't think all is wrong though. We've just come up and we're outside the bottom three at the moment, we're certainly not destined to go down. Where did you actually expect us to be at this stage?

Pearson was clearly allowed to sign players but would he have expected to spend £8m? I doubt it and my guess is some players didnt join due to limitations. The question of where did you expect us to be could be countered with how many points did you think we would pick up from Palace, Burnley, Swansea and WBA considering we got 8 from Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal, Stoke and United? The results for me aren't the panic, the lack of goals clearly is. Our second highest scorer behind Leo has 1.
benpicko Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Didn't you make the thread about Andy King about 2 hours before he signed?
sylofox Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Didn't you make the thread about Andy King about 2 hours before he signed? Yeah he did and started topics slagging off Morgan and Ulloa this week too.
