Bring back Knockaert...

Perhaps he's gone off to sprint training camp so that he doesn't run like he's wading through treacle.

Helpful.. Maybe the fact he is about 5"6 is the issue..

Out of contract in the summer and can talk to foreign clubs in Jan. Personally think he'll go back to France and a team like Lille or Toulouse

Surely no-one is suggesting that Knockaert should be in the team ahead of Mahrez?

Yes we need width, but Mahrez is significantly better than Knocky in almost every aspect of the game.

Bring back Mahrez.

Knocky on the bench maybe.

Agreed, if we're to play with wingers or any width at all, the players out wide will be Vardy (for pace and attacking threat with defensive mind), Mahrez (for creativity, speed and ability), Albrighton (for crosses. better handler of possession.) Knockaert could be great playing teams like QPR and Sunderland with his movement and attacking mind-set, but the reality is that he's not as good as Riyad Mahrez, and if Mahrez can't get on the pitch, there's no way Knockaert will.

Well he didn't play against Arsenal and Manchester United, but did play against Shrewsbury, Burnley and Newcastle, so... no.

That said, we need a spark from somewhere right now, so we could do worse.

In fairness he played 18 minutes against Burnley and 11 against Newcastle, a game in which we looked instantly better when he came on - as for Shrewsbury I would put it down to starting the likes of Watson, Cain, Pearson and GTF more than anything.

He didn't play against Palace, Swansea and Southampton either - 1 premier league start against Everton, in which we played well, is not enough to write him off.

Seriously I think people need to remind themselves how good he has been for us since he's been at the club, it would be a disaster if he was to leave because he wasn't getting enough game time.

I think wether it's knockeart or albrighton or whoever, the players the manager is picking are not performing and have been lacking quality, pearsons words, so these players need to be given a chance, or team/ squad morale will be at rock bottom.

If I remember right Pearson has mentioned somewhere some players are not happy at not being involved, but I don't blame them, as a player you expect to wait your turn in a high performing, winning team, but would expect a chance in our starting 11, with the results and performances we have produced.

Are you suggesting small people can't be quick?

No, just that to be quick there legs are going a lot faster. Knockeart however isn't the most athletic and doesn't run with much coordination, so it doesn't help is what I'm saying..

But fair point.. lol

Looks as though he maybe off to Leeds on a loan move? According to sources we are willing to let him go? This, is very sad news if true.

So we'll be without Mahrez and Knockaert by the end of the year then, the way things are going

After the early season chaos under the ownership of Massimo Cellino, things seem to have settled down at Leeds United in recent weeks.

Cellino's first appointment, David Hockaday lasted just 70 days before being sacked at the end of August, and his replacement Darko Milanic was dispatched having failed to win any of his six games in charge.

Finally, at the start of November, Cellino took the decision to appoint Neil Redfearn as the club's permanent manager, after the former Barnsley midfielder impressed in caretaker charge of the club following Hockaday's exit.

Now calling the shots in the Leeds dugout, Redfeard has one won, drawn one and lost one of his first three games, but has already alluded to a potential tactical change under his stewardship.

"We haven't really got any genuine wingers within the squad. The width comes from full-back areas, so whether it's a 4-3-3 or a diamond, the width seems to come from the full-back areas," Redfearn said last week.

"We've got good full-backs so it can be done like that, but it's nice to have your plan B. It might bring a change where you have some genuine width with a natural attacking wide player. It's maybe something that we'll look at."

With the loan deadline set to arrive in two weeks, Redfearn needs to decide how important signing a new winger is to his plans.

If he believes that he still needs one in order to have tactical flexibility in his ranks, thenLeicester City's Anthony Knockaert should be an option for him.

The Frenchman starred in the Championship last season, tallying five goals and five assists as he helped the Foxes claim the Championship crown.

Now though, he's played just 93 minutes of Premier League football, bizarrely slipping down the pecking order under Nigel Pearson.

A loan move to Nottingham Forest was in the pipeline last month, but Stuart Pearce chose Thomas Ince instead, leave Knockaert on the sidelines at the King Power Stadium.

The 22-year-old offers attributes that Redfearn is looking - pace, skill and direction, whilst he's also left footed - offering balance if Redfearn wants to use the right footed Adryan out wide too.

Leicester seem willing to let Knockaert leave, and if Redfearn is serious about bringing a winger in, the Frenchman should certainly be on his radar.

Would Knockaert be a good signing for Leeds?
