Ian S Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Delaet performances probably says differently Were you at the match last night,up against Stirling etc and not with the greatest of cover (Mahrez) he did well, however it seems once people decide someone is no good ,even a good performance gets slated. If you are looking at last night try Morgan and Kasper and not for the first time.

I was all for dropping RDL for last night, but I thought he played extremely well in defence and did a couple of Mata barge through style runs down the right in the second
cc_star Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 A decent Championship level keeper, though always a weak link for Leeds when he played against Huddersfield! Probably a typical 'Sven signing' i.e. Famous name, massive salary. He is one of our most average keepers in the last 20/30 years, great shot stopping and agility compensating for a poor positional sense and inability to claim high balls and crosses. I recall Kevin Poole, a competent keeper who helped us to promotion in 1996, being replaced by Kasey Keller before a ball was kicked at the start of the 1996-97 season (not ruthless, but simply effective management by Martin O'Neill, who was doing what he was paid to do- managing the team!) Likewise, he had the nouse to recognise that Joachim was not going to provide the goals and that Marshall and Claridge would actually DELIVER. I like NP but he is stubborn, loyal ( not always a bad thing!) but misguided in his attempts to keep us in this league for more than one season. Hamer, please, and why did our defence look so solid when Hammond was starting? Spot on. This loyalty will see us adrift & no chance of anyone any good wanting to come This. Never in a million years would a manager ask a keeper to stay on his line, if he did he should be looking for a new keeper ASAP. You are supposed to utilise the fact you can use your hands in a place where no one else can. To me it's quite clear Kasper has no intention of doing this, he doesn't seem prepared to risk his own reputation for the team. I've just watched the second goal again from Saturday and it's utterly ridiculous a top flight keeper isn't coming for that. Agree, we're paying for this in the Prem (every single game) the Championship was far more forgiving & his the poor decision making
Clever Fox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Delaet performances probably says differently I think the point the op was making was that for all Delaets poor performances he still wasn't dropped. So it's likely the same will happen with Kasper. Pearson is showing too much loyalty with certain players and he'll end up paying for it. Hamer should start on Sunday. Were losing anyway to GK errors so he cannot do any worse.
Guest Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Why are so many against giving Hamer a game? He's a Leicester city Goalie, paid to keep goal for us. It's not that anyone is asking for Kasper to be killed, just given a couple of games to reflect on his play from the bench. If it's because you think he can't handle that it's a poor reason, Hamer does it at the moment without crying. Results are not going well. we need to "break the cycle". it may work it may not but results can not be too much worse than recently (though I don't think the performances have been as bad as many are making out).

I agree FIF, but will Nige? I have a feeling certain players are like the weather..set in..I can't see Pearson dropping Kasper.
lgfualol Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 He's probably already asked to leave in the Summer
Guest Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Schwarzer has looked the best GK. Hopefully we can cash in on Kasper.
Snooty Fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Schmeichel is still out best keeper. Schmeichel is fvcking rubbish and the main reason we went on that awful run which has resulted in relegation.
funkyrobot Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Schmeichel is fvcking rubbish and the main reason we went on that awful run which has resulted in relegation. We've done so much better since his injury eh?
Snooty Fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We've done so much better since his injury eh? Yep, Hamer picked up a number of clean sheets and we were on a good run from Boxing Day till last weekend when he was unfairly dropped. Too early to judge Schwarzer but obviously far more dependable and solid than Kasper.
cjslcfc Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Schmeichel is still out best keeper. In my books he's 3rd choice now. Schwarzer by far the classiest 'keeper we have.
Babylon Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 In my books he's 3rd choice now. Schwarzer by far the classiest 'keeper we have. Compare the distribution today to stoke and it was a different planet. Quick ball and actually managed to keep the ball in play.
cjslcfc Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Compare the distribution today to stoke and it was a different planet. Quick ball and actually managed to keep the ball in play. It's not just that. It's his handling of crosses and the confidence he exudes when doing so. His positioning and anticipation are great as well. A far cry from flapping Kasper and Ben "can't kick properly" Hamer.
funkyrobot Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 In my books he's 3rd choice now. Schwarzer by far the classiest 'keeper we have. Hes 42, he's been beaten 4 times in 2 league games and hasnt pulled off any significant saves yet that you wouldn't expect a professional goalie to. I don't dislike him, just think people are quick to fawn over a goalie that hasn't been outstanding for us yet.

cjslcfc Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Might not get many agreeing with you at the moment... Still think he's miles better than Schmeichel. The competition between him and Hamer is a lot closer.
Grewks Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 1. Hamer 2. Kasper 3. Schwarzer Schwarzer has already cost us 2 goals this season....and my word he looks about as agile as a one legged giraffe.
funkyrobot Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 It's not just that. It's his handling of crosses and the confidence he exudes when doing so. His positioning and anticipation are great as well. A far cry from flapping Kasper and Ben "can't kick properly" Hamer. Still standing by Schwarzer? For me Hamer has got to come back in.

Schwarzer's goal-a-game liability doesn't improve Kasper any, but Hamer has to come back in... He's clearly the best of the 3

Guest Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Schwarzer Worst GK I can remember us having.. shame for him really as he's tarnishing what was a decent career. Clearly past it. Tony Warner was bad, but this has been something else. Game after game.
