In fairness back in the day they did a brilliant job.

You could buy the away programmes from their office, a service that wasn’t available from the club.

They also did coach travel, again something that wasn’t available through the club.

There was a bar in the corner of the ground that was open in the evenings, so you could pop down and get your coach travel at what was then a convenient time.

They really did provide an excellent service at a time the club virtually provided nothing.

In addition the supporters club club corner was probably the safest part of the ground at a time that the hoolies made football quiet an unpleasant experience.

Think it’s a rather pointless situation now, but back then they deserve credit for providing the services the club didn’t.

I always see him at away games. He was directly behind me at Manchester City other year when we won.

Only goes to the away games we win, I've heard.

Still got my badge & life membership card somewhere, was a great part of the old Filbert Street ground back in the 80s & 90s, don't really see the point of slagging people off who have devoted all their spare time doing stuff for the fans of our club....

Up the City.... :scarf:

May have been the case in the past, but certainly doesn't seem that way now. Whenever he speaks publicly on anything he seems to be completely out of touch with what most supporters actually think.

In a Guardian survey of fan group representatives (think it was the start of last season), he was the only one from 20 Premier League clubs to say he thought paying above £30 was a fair price for a match ticket.

Any lingering doubt that the bloke knew nothing about football was removed when he demanded Pearson apologised for selling Sol Bamba.

Need to dig that article out again, swear he compared it to selling Steve Walsh...

I remember the one and only time I used official coaches, it was the forest cup game with the Clive Clarke incident. Always went on the train to away games but with it being close and a work night, myself and a few mates decided to use fox travel. Anyway, had a beer at the ground first and then went to get on the coach. Wasn't too sure what was what and stepped up to the bus where ginetta was stood on the stairs. Asked him if he could point me in the right direction as we had a massive amount going that night, hence a lot of coaches and I wasn't too sure how the normal process worked. He asked if I was a member of the supporters group, I replied No, so he said sort your own mess out. Really strange man.
