Guest Col city fan Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 We're all entitled to opinions but one of your summaries really intrigues me... Wasyl was in the Premier League team of the week last month (whoscored.com), he was also voted as our player of the month on this forum. He wasn't great today but to say that you "wish we never see him play again", I think know that is incredibly harsh. ..the 'shame about the legs' comment is even better. I thought you played football with your legs (and feet). Otherwise it would be handball?
dmayne7 Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 How is Was getting a higher rating than Moore. He gave away the freekick for the first, got spun time again and he was at fault for the second. As a centre back you don't come up the right wing for a thrown in and then try an intricate pass. It had to be put in the box. He screwed us on that one. I love the guy but he was poor today. Really missed Morgan against Benteke.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Not sure how anyone's managed to squeeze a few 1's and 2's into their ratings. Outright lying perhaps? I'd like to see Simpson start next game. Nothing exceptional tonight, just a lack of mistakes.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Kasper - 8 Simpson - 6 Wasyl - 4 Moore - 2 Konch - 2 James - 2 Esteban - 6 Riyad - 4 Jeff - 3 Vardy - 3 Ulloa - 4 SUBS - CBA Pearson - Stay as far as I'm concerned. I'm not going to bang the same drum constantly and say I want him out, the bloke deserves infinitely more respect than that - but I could now understand if the owners decided to make a change. Not sure how anyone's managed to squeeze a few 1's and 2's into their ratings. Outright lying perhaps? Erm, no?
Dan Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Mainly fours. Cambiasso and Simpson five, Ulloa and Mahrez six, Schmeichel seven. Villa 5. Ref 3.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 Erm, no? Not watching the game then? Moore: 'abysmal'. Sure.
The Doctor Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 5/6 all round except for kasper - 7. Weren't too bad, but really need to sort the defending sooner rather than later
chicagofox Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 1 for the whole f'n lot of them except Schmeichel.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Not watching the game then? Moore: 'abysmal'. Sure. I watched the game thanks - I think he'll grow into a fine centre half and it's all part of a learning process, but today - Moore was crap, likewise James - no doubt he'll be fantastic in time but this afternoon he was abject. If you'd like to re-insert your tampon, feel free.

Dan Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Worth pointing out - I thought Nugent wasn't bad today when he came on. Better from him.
Donut Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Can i just say, i unreservedly apologise for suggesting in some of the pre match threads that maybe going long and looking for bits and pieces off the 2nd ball with the midfield getting involved would be a possible tactic we might start employing to overcome being outnumbered in midfield. This was exactly how we ended up playing, it was diabolical, and i will never suggest it again.
MattGamble92 Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 I thought Kasper and Wasilewski were out two best players. Wasilewski is getting some stick but if he won some much in the air and kept Benteke alot quieter than most will this season. He also put over a couple of great balls for Vardy and Ulloa. Was is not our problem at all. Our problem is Liam Moore who is no where near Premier League standard. Some people need to get their head out of his arse just because he's "one of our own" (yawn) Good quality championship defender at best at the moment. Loan him out in Jan after Upson gets fit and we hopefully bring in a better quality player.

He's given space and time on the ball by our opponents because they know, for certain, that he'll surrender possession. He made Gerrard look nippy on one occasion on Tuesday, when Gerrard gave him a two yard head-start and still beet him over ten. I think he is way, way out of his depth and, tbh, think it would be a good thing for us if we could avoid picking him again. And yes, I saw that 'team of the week' selection. Made me smile!

Fair enough, I think sometimes we need to congratulate the opposition. Don't forget, Gerrard had been rested so he was super-fit, fresh and ready for the match . Seriously though, I take on board that point. Wasyl has never been renowned for his pace, however, he is well known for his aggressive style; I'm more disappointed by his lack of commitment in tackles. The same can be said of Morgan. They're big guys but they're not getting stuck in. Agbonlahor should've been in row F as soon as he tried to take Wasyl on. I think he's more vocal than Morgan, better in the air and a lot more instinctive when it comes to reading the game. He's not the best in the league but then again, if he was, he wouldn't be here. From what I can make out, Upson is still a few weeks away (at least) and Wasyl has looked a lot more steady than Moore, IMO. Let's not forget that he was up against a VERY VERY good player yesterday. Benteke isn't exactly of mediocre quality. Talking about being outpaced, did you see Cambiasso out pace Adam Lallana?? That made me smile
Guest MattP Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Kasper - 7 - Shot stopping never in doubt. Simpson - 6 - Excellent performance, will keep his place, although with Man City coming up that's probably not good for him. Was - 4 - Awful. Terrible free kick to give away that cost us the first goal. Moore - 3 - Worse than Awful. Out of his depth at this level. Marking for the first goal was beyond belief for a top flight defender. Konchesky - 5 - Better than most but ruined it. Mahrez - 6 - Influence diminished but still looks our best chance at creating a goal. We need to work out how to get him on the ball in the fial third consistently. James - 4 - Shocking performance and set plays Cambiasso - 6 - Still looks a class above on the ball, it's a shame a full 90 mins at full pelt is well beyond him. Schlupp - 2 - Pathetic. Why didn't he run towards Hutton instead of jog? He would have got there in plenty of time - the shot though At least he gave us a laugh in the depths of despair. Vardy - 5 - Doing his best but looking well out of his depth up here. Uloa - 7 - Thought he was excellent, big big miss when he came off.
filbertway Posted 8 December 2014 Posted 8 December 2014 Gone for 5's and 6's all round aside from Kasper and Cambiasso who got 8 and 7 respectively.

After reacting to seeing Hutton was left alone with a clear shot at goal, instead of sprinting over and trying to block he just casually jogged over - could definitely have stopped it.
