Webbo Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Sorry Nige, I think you're a great bloke but it's time to go.
Mark_w Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Is there not already a thread just like this? What's the point? Stay.

Guest kristianity77 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I voted stay. Simply because I dont think it matters one jot to our Premiership season now whether he stays or goes. No one can turn this ship around this season its heading in one direction unfortunately. And the argument that stability will indeed result in a better situation long term is a valid one. Therefore, he stays and gets to try again next season.
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Playing "ok" under Nigel and putting "100% effort" in wont keep us up at the end of the season. We need wins, and that is something Nigel doesn't seem capable of doing in the Premier League. Our recent record is beyond ridiculous now. We need a manager with Premier League experience, who can attract premier league players. We need change to stop the rot before it is too late!

Ian W LCFC Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 The results imo aren't Nigel's fault. The tactics recently have been good and so have the performances, you can't blame Pearson for the players not putting chances away can you?
tickler28 Posted 26 December 2014 Author Posted 26 December 2014 Even so early on its clear that we are evenly split....its like the Scottish Referendum Foxes talk style!!
Guest kristianity77 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Not even a better manager? Or better quality players for that matter? I just think that if we sacked him now, your looking at a week for a replacement (at least, which is two more games gone) and then a rushed transfer window where a new manager would be hiring and firing left right and centre to try and turn a ship around in the space of the remaining 16/17 games or so where he would need to probably win half of them. It's not going to happen.
LCCFox96 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Stay. Today's performance was encouraging and I think Nigel should be given January to tweak his squad and work on ironing out performances. We are 2 or 3 quality additions off a really strong side. This can still be saved.

Nigel is just as accountable as the players and is just as much to blame.
Corky Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Probably go, shame it's come to this. Pulis has become so much better from being out of management, almost to the point his faults are totally ignored. Let's go foreign and gamble.

Mark_w Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Even so early on its clear that we are evenly split....its like the Scottish Referendum Foxes talk style!! It is like the Scottish referendum so far, in that about 60% want something and the people in the 40% want people to think that's really close when it's really not.

Salieri Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 As much as I like Pearson, the most worrying thing for me,is that despite being a fair way into the season, he clearly doesn't know his best line up or formation. I desperately want(ed) him to succeed but am wondering if he has the tactical nous to cut it in this division. He is stubborn and I admire his loyalty to the players who got us up (bar one or two it would seem) but it is obvious to everybody that the commitment is there but the quality isn't. The owners quite simply have to back him 100% regardless of whether we go down or make the change now while there is a transfer window available and time for somebody new to try to get us out of this mess. I am genuinely torn on this as I like the bloke and respect what he has achieved at this club but with every defeat and the gulf between survival and relegation widening I find myself leaning more towards a change.
Ganty_2000 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Absolutely gutted with how this season is turning out. I expected this team to do better. Obviously wrong but Pearson deserves the opportunity to have his shot after last season. Hopefully things improve as I'm so tired of losing every week.

Early days but even if it is majority stay would just highlight how many fans we have with zero ambition
leicesterisme Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Not even a better manager? Or better quality players for that matter? Out of interest, could you name me a better manager who is avaliable?
Webbo Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Out of interest, could you name me a better manager who is avaliable? Out of interest since the Man U game who could have done worse?
LCCFox96 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 But.. Please explain WHO will want to sign for us in the predicament we're in??Premier league football talks. Besides a win at Hull and few points in the other early January games and we could be right back on the pace. Some of the players linked in the media are attainable targets we just need to be organised and swift in our dealings. Cloak and dagger style business (may be difficult in certain circumstances). If reports are to be believed we were in for the right people (Sakho, Cresswell, Pelle etc) in the summer and lost them for whatever reason then at least we know of that problem and can address it while looking at targets for January. This time next month it could be a completely different story.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 The owners I don't believe will sack Pearson anyway. If they had the intention of doing so they would have already done it. As I mentioned in the after match forum we are now one defeat away from having the worst run in Premiership history (2 points in 42 is the current record, set by Sunderland) so its already well past the point of firing a manager if you are going to do it. The players are still playing for him and it looks like they will give it their all (despite limited ability at this level) until the last game of the season. If he can then keep the better players here, in addition to any he can add in January or over the summer, then there is no reason why we cannot have the same success in the Championship as we did last season and come back better prepared and with a bit more know how Both on the side of any players that see it through to that point, and the manager should he still be here at that point.
Happy Fox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Out of interest, could you name me a better manager who is avaliable? Have a guess.
la domestique Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Today's performance has brought nige more time. Good use of the bench, nice to see him changing it earlier. I thought it was a risky one with james at half time as we were getting back into it just coming up to half time. Fair play. I am getting Fed up with thinking- we have got to win next week!
