squidsworth Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Sh@t or bust I'm afraid, so time for a change. Reality check: teams relegated after a single season rarely bounce straight back... More likely to be relegated again I'm afraid.
Mark Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Today's performance has brought nige more time. Good use of the bench, nice to see him changing it earlier. I thought it was a risky one with james at half time as we were getting back into it just coming up to half time. Fair play. I am getting Fed up with thinking- we have got to win next week! It was a forced change as King was injured just before half time, least he chose the right player though.
Durnerz Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Will cost us to get rid of Pearson, better to gamble with some loans in January and if nothing changes by then and/or he loses the dressing room completely then pull the trigger.
Voll Blau Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 If the solution is fvcking Pulis I'll vote stay forever.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Early days but even if it is majority stay would just highlight how many fans we have with zero ambition Nope, we've seen enough to think that NP can keep us up. Backing the manager is not accepting relegation
The Doctor Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 The owners I don't believe will sack Pearson anyway. If they had the intention of doing so they would have already done it. As I mentioned in the after match forum we are now one defeat away from having the worst run in Premiership history (2 points in 42 is the current record, set by Sunderland) so its already well past the point of firing a manager if you are going to do it. The players are still playing for him and it looks like they will give it their all (despite limited ability at this level) until the last game of the season. If he can then keep the better players here, in addition to any he can add in January or over the summer, then there is no reason why we cannot have the same success in the Championship as we did last season and come back better prepared and with a bit more know how Both on the side of any players that see it through to that point, and the manager should he still be here at that point. Sunderlands record was 2 points in 60, so we're still 7 games off it.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Sorry Nige, I think you're a great bloke but it's time to go.This
Soar Fox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Probably go, shame it's come to this. Pulis has become so much better from being out of management, almost to the point his faults are totally ignored. Let's go foreign and gamble. Felix Magath
EGBFitness Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 How can people say our season is over already? We're 6 points from safety! If we get the results we want in the next few games we could be out of relegation start of 2015. I personally feel time is up for Pearson. What he has done for this club has been amazing but to pick up the points he has with half a season isn't good enough. We need abit more quality in Jan and I don't think Pearson will bring that in, I don't think he can change our fortunes around either
Corky Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Felix Magath At least no fan could say we aren't training enough.
The Doctor Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Felix Magath Could be a good call, excellent manager in germany and probably arrived too late at fulham, particularly given all the upheaval they had last season, but at the same time he really struggled with them at the start of this season...
5waller5 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Brilliant .... the new justification for NP to stay is that we haven't yet set the record for the worst run in the league ever. Wow - he certainly lowered our expectations.

Now I KNOW you're a troll!
Voll Blau Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Brilliant .... the new justification for NP to stay is that we haven't yet set the record for the worst run in the league ever. Wow - he certainly lowered our expectations. People calling for Pulis since about November had already lowered our expectations perfectly adequately.
Bamba's Babes Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Should have binned him weeks ago. Zero point in doing that now.

Wow - he certainly lowered our expectations. No, it's just that we are pointing out that the dramatic 2 points from 42 is the worst ever isn't actually correct.
The Doctor Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Brilliant .... the new justification for NP to stay is that we haven't yet set the record for the worst run in the league ever. Wow - he certainly lowered our expectations. See below: No, it's just that we are pointing out that the dramatic 2 points from 42 is the worst ever isn't actually correct. This run is bad enough, we don't need to make up stuff to make it seem worse.
5waller5 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 People calling for Pulis since about November had already lowered our expectations perfectly adequately. Yeah we could have been out of the relegation places by now if they'd got their way!!
Voll Blau Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Yeah we could have been out of the relegation places by now if they'd got their way!! Yeah, and be limited to that ambition for the length of his tenure. heaven forbid it ever happens.
Jace Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I'm not fussed either way any longer now big respect for the bloke and always will but I wouldn't be upset with a change either
Carl the Llama Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Fvcking hell, the ratio of stay votes to leave votes was much higher last week, of all matches how can this be the one to swing opinion so much? We dominated Spurs and had abysmal luck, not to mention shit refereeing. Clearly changes in personnel need to be made, but they're on-field changes. With a little bit more quality at our disposal we'll surely turn these stupid, frustrating, unlucky 1-goal defeats into victories.
kingfox Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 On the last couple of performances I'd give him a bit longer.
ronnup Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Can't blame Pearson today. What different choices would people make?
Guest bss9401 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Go. It is ridiculous that many posters seem to believe that NP will get us promoted if we go down. I only say if because a new manager may be able to turn this season around. If people believe that our dreadful form is the players' fault and not the manager's then it won't matter to them if the same players are in next week under a new boss. If the club's aim was to bank the PL cash for long term security then why not just come out and state that NP's job is safe regardless of whether we become one of the worst PL teams ever.
Number 6 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I believe he can keep us up and for that reason:stay.
