fleckneymike Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'm struggling to recall the last time we didn't concede from a defensive error. Was it Man Utd?
cjslcfc Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'm struggling to recall the last time we didn't concede from a defensive error. Was it Man Utd? De Laet's horrible defending for their first goal. If I remember he committed himself to challenging Falcao from behind who turned him and crossed to Van Persie.
ADK Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Well we didn't concede at all vs Sunderland so it certainly wasn't man u

The Doctor Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Sunderland. Last time we conceded in a match and they weren't defensive errors - probably Southampton.
Dan Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Try seven days ago you can't really blame poor defending for that. Quality goal.
Grewks Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Every single goal can be scrutinized by some for of defending error. Remember Roberto Carlos's amazing bending free kick?? Simple - don't give the free kick away etc.
Captain... Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Try seven days ago you can't really blame poor defending for that. Quality goal. I think he means the last game where we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot, Downing's goal, nothing you can do about it, but the first was a monumental cock up.
KFS Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Someone needs to make a compilation of our goals conceded. It would be hilarious.
rico Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Someone needs to make a compilation of our goals conceded. It would be hilarious. Back in the day it would have been called a video nasty
Cruss5 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I think even though Was has played better than most his clumsines on giving free kicks away is hurting us as much as giving the ball away. I'm getting frustrated with the needless fouls.
LCCFox96 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Southampton. We defended well in that game and the defending was worthy of a clean sheet for all we were totally outclassed by their forwards. No coincidence that Schlupp played at left back in that game and we looked significantly stronger on the left flank on that day.

Corky Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Last season we benefitted hugely from defensive errors, stupid penalties given away, own goals, intercepting backpasses. We were quick, confident, clinical. Teams are doing it to us now.
ADK Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Depends what you call a defensive error. I'd argue Man City, although we left Lampard unmarked but they got forward in numbers and quickly. Konchesky's horrible pass back and Hamer diving over a bouncing ball are clear errors where they weren't under great pressure. Liverpool was probably the worst, Morgan should not have headed straight back into the danger zone, then he tees it up on a plate for their second, inexplicably gets sent off before Kasper spills it straight to their player. We really shot ourselves in the foot that one. QPR was bad as well.
