Konchesky

I'm not into slating players and I tend to think Konchesky gives his all when he plays.

But...I do think he is a weak link in the team and a new left back would be top of my shopping list.

For me the reason is that much of our passing from the back seems to break down with Konchesky.

Done a good job for a few years though, so if he does go, I wish him all the best.

I posted earlier about Konchesky but, as is often the case, the mods deleted it without any communication and without being able to explain what forum rule was broken when I asked (because none of them were).

Anyway I CBA to go into the full details, but basically I reckon Konch got sent off on purpose yesterday.

If you watch just the motd highlights there's plenty of evidence to support my hypotheses. Giving it verbal and putting in challenges until he got booked for the most blatant yellow of all time. Then holding back for a bit until the time was right before getting himself another blatant yellow.

Why would he do that? Well we all know about his departure from Liverpool last time with his mam and that. Maybe he didn't fancy taking the grief from Liverpool fans? Maybe he didn't fancy trying to get through 4 games in 8 days at his age and Liverpool was the obvious one to miss? Maybe he had another volume of the Secret Footballer book to write up and the deadline was approaching? Maybe he just wants to get wasted on New Years Eve?

Anyway whatever the reason it looked deliberate to me.

On a side note, is anyone else getting their post randomly deleted by the mods? I've private messaged all the mods I'm aware of in the last couple of weeks and got blanked by each of them. So if they're not going to respond to my messages perhaps one of them will respond on here? I haven't been offensive or broken any rules, the only thing I can think it's down to is a personal attack because I stand in L block.

I've already been told to "f off to Bentleys Roof or Racees or one of the other right wing LCFC forums", but surely it would be better to make FoxesTalk representative. Either way, at least tell me why you keep playing with my posting rights and censoring my views?

From now on I will be copying my posts so I can re-submit if any are deleted without a message or notification sent to me providing the reason why and specifying which forum rule has been broken. Should my account be restricted I will sign back up under a different email and IP address and re-submit. This is not North Korea and I will not be silenced! We were here before you and we'll be here after you.

I had a post deleted about dion dublin because I said he'd let his home city down when he asked peter reid (or whoever was manager) for a transfer to coventry at half time of the Leicester v Cov game circa 2006.  I even linked a newspaper article that backed up what I said.  It was deleted in literally a couple of minutes!  Weird!

Edited to say I didnt post it in 2006, foxestalk probs wasnt around then, I posted it few years back

You bunch of babies need to quit moaning about a post being deleted.

Go and start your own forum if you want it ran how you want it ran. Then give up your own time for free and don't you dare charge anyone to use it.

Don't think you'll find any Babies on this forum mate, they've all had their posting rights restricted ;-)

Sorry but he is too much of a liability. Harsh second yellow today but his mistakes game after game are just pathetic. Silly mistakes.

Apart from West Ham, please provide examples of his mistakes....

Maybe not game after game but he did do the same vs Leeds last season.

This could be the most moronic comment ever! So because he didn't any Liverpool away he deliberately got sent off, in te dying stages of a crucial game? With minutes left and his team up by one goal?

I know a lot of people don't like Konch but this is rediculous!

If he didn't want to play against Liverpool, wouldn't it have Ben easier to feign an injury? And tell Pearson not to risk him?

With Jeff away soon, Pearson would not risk him LB while a replacement was there, knowing he was going away soon.

Think about it son

So that's 2 games in a year.. Blimey.

He makes mistakes, did the same thing at Newcastle this year but Cisse put it in the side netting, he is still the best left back we have available and has performed far better than most expected so far this season.

Really? I think he's been pretty dreadful but as you say, not really anyone to replace him with. Hoping this changes in the next month or so.

Why has he been dreadful? Everyone seems unable to advise why...

I could be wrong, but I've given you plenty of reasons there why he might not fancy it.

Getting deliberately booked or sent off to miss a specific game isn't a new thing, what about the Real Madrid lads and even the great David Beckham for England. Can't remember who but a few years back a keeper (might have been Lehmann) deliberately got booked so his suspension was the Carling Cup final because his understudy was going to play that game anyway.

If you've read the Secret Footballer (which Konchesky co-authors) there's examples of it too and talk of his depression associated with time at Liverpool.

Of course I could be wrong, but it's not just wild speculation, if you think this doesn't go on you're very naive. And if you watch the highlights he was intent on getting an early booking.

Not criticising him by the way, I think he's been our best left back in years. Very hard working and loyal to the cause.

Surely it's just your interpretation of it??

Did Sterling not fancy playing us so he thought he'd swing an arm in the hope he'd get caught and sent off?

Did Delph not fancy playing on NYD either so thought he'd put in a clumsy challenge to miss the next game?

Basically anyone who got booked/sent off in these final matches of 2014 - was it all because they didn't want to play on Thursday?

Posted

A huge difference between getting a booking to ensure suspension in a particular game, and getting sent off, when your team needs you in a vital game.

Again why couldn't he of feigned an injury? Games are thick and fast Myone carrying a knock would be rested, particularly with cover available.

Stan SP and Aus Fox - Scroll up for your answers. My original post had even more detail but FoxesTalk deleted it.

Basically there are well publicised reasons why Konch wouldn't exactly relish a trip to Anfield. You can't say that about Sterling or Delph. And he seemed desperate to get a first booking then waited till very late to time his next offence, a pretty daft and unnecessary one.

I'm not pretending he was intent on losing us the game. He was calculated in what he did and it worked, again I stress read about it in his book if you don't think players do this sometimes.

As for feigning injuries, there are people called physiotherapists who can see through that.

I had a post deleted without explanation. It was about Irvine and my guess is that it was deleted because another post referred the same manager. There was certainly nothing objectionable or controversial about my post (the only one I've started) and I would have appreciated being advised why it was deleted.

Didn't say he'd played well, my expectations for him this season were very low and I'd say even still being picked for the 1st team far exceeds them.

Konch did well for 5/6 games at the start of the season, since then he has been a mess.

Without fail he will kick the ball out of play with no pressure around him. He just hoofs it up the line hoping Ulloa can perform miracles to control it and hold it up.

He was useless last season too.

I hate him.
