iamafox Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 It's inevitable he'll walk straight back into the starting 11 when his suspension ends.
inckley fox Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 It wasn't a bad strategic foul to make. He didn't play especially well, though. His marking from set pieces was poor again. There are 22 year olds with wiser heads than his. In terms of experience, he's a 33 year old with the brain of a 17 year old.
Jaspa Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Full respect to him being at the Club for the last few years with the comitment and work hes put into what has been a successful period, but I think we should be able to get someone in who can offer more at this level and is one of the areas that come to mind when thinking of immidiate improvements
Cropwellfox Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Or Schlupp left-back? Thought he's off to ACON after this game? Definitely play him LB if he's available I agree
StanSP Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Thought he's off to ACON after this game? Definitely play him LB if he's available I agree Yeah I meant when available .
Tuna Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 He has to be replaced early in January, ASAP. No excuses, he's not good enough, slow, ill disciplined and always has a mistake in him. I'd be embarrassed if that backpass happened in the northern premier league.
Westlife Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 I'll admit that he has made a plethora of mistakes recently, but the venom in some of the comments during the match thread were a tad excessive and somewhat unwarranted.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 With him out the team against Liverpool I'd be tempted to play Schlupp at left back with Mahrez ahead, Simpson at right back with Albrighton/Knocky/De Laet ahead.
theessexfox Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Which good left-backs are available and willing to come to us?
MC Prussian Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 He can't wait for January and a transfer to a Championship outfit. (Harsh, I know)
les-tah Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 im almost certain today has once again proved we need a more reliable left back.
MIAMI_FOX Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 The bloke is a liability. Hopefully we can bring in a quality left back in jan
johnny the fox Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 He is in the process of losing the yard of pace he didn't have in the first place. that's whats causing the problems he is having.
Clever Fox Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Probably forced NPs hand in buying a left back in January as we really need Schlupp in left Midfield. Especially as he's been growing in confidence going forward and taking people on.
Jace Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Shame he won't be available against Liverpool he always caused problems for them at the back
LCCFox96 Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 I don't want our players to be suspended but I am pleased we get to see Schlupp - who kept up that high standard of performance again - in at left back with Albrighton or Knockaert in at left back because as I've said before I think Schlupp is the best option we currently have at LB and Albrighton or Knockaert could offer just a much going forward imo. Roll on January though and let's get a left back in!
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Sorry but he is too much of a liability. Harsh second yellow today but his mistakes game after game are just pathetic. Silly mistakes.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 In Pearson's interview today he seemed to say that it was hard getting people for this January. Did I imagine that or did he? If so I think we be stuck with Konchesky. If you do get a couple of new players they too won't be PL quality, but future prospects. Imagine Defoe will end up with QPR.
Stadt Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 He's about as comfortable on the ball as conference player
Kinowe Soorie Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 He's about as comfortable on the ball as conference player Harsh... on the Conference player!!!
Guest ttfn Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Thought it was a great foul for him to make. People have been talking for weeks about us needing to be cleverer/more cynical and I'm sure it's partially what Pearson is talking about when he talks about "game management". Konchesky getting sent off with 5 minutes to go and being suspended for a game which he may well have been rested for anyway, being the 3rd in 6 days, seems a pretty good compromise when the alternative was the Hull player getting in behind.
Voll Blau Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Does he need to see a psychiatrist? Does he not realise getting sent off does not help your team!! Yeah I reckon he did it on purpose too.
SecretPro Posted 29 December 2014 Posted 29 December 2014 Konch is woeful. Actually he's worse than that but I can't find an adequate word. His best before date was around 2005 and his use by date was shortly after. However. Who we looking at in Jan to fill his space?
shailen Posted 29 December 2014 Posted 29 December 2014 He's been consistently average this season, but clearly this level is too big a step up for him. Desparately need a new LB and this has to be the priority in the transfer window. Tbf to him he hasn't been that bad except for the mistakes, but I dont think he can perform any better and I'm afraid it's not good enough at this level anymore.
