harpendenfox Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Don't understand why we'd be rude to Stoke. They, Swansea and Saints have shown what can be achieved in the Prem for a Club of our size. This season has thus far been a huge disappointment, but as Nige says, we go again.

So if we lose at Man Utd which is highly likely, Then it's season over???? What if we win and all the teams around us win that weekend aswell,will it still be curtains out of curiosity

There's a time and place for lightweight rookie midfielders, chasing the game against Stoke isn't it! Lawrence a long way off being ready for the first team IMO

I don't think we will get thrashed, mainly because LVG is an arrogant willy puller who seems to be relying on the same useless back four week in week out, if we lose it will be tight, but if we set up properly and go for it, we could snatch something.

Lawrence a long way off being ready for the first team IMO Absolutely agree, Jeff didn't look 100% but he still carried more of a threat than Lawrence, and bringing Lawrence on ultimately finished the game for me, with Albrighton we would have had crosses into the box, which means both Ulloa and Kramaric would have a 50/50 chance of getting a late goal......but no, Nige pulls that shocker out of the bag...
Callabinho Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 What I will say is that having thought about yesterday, it really wasn't down to us being terrible, I think it was largely down to us not having the resources available to combat Stoke's set up, we had integral parts of our team missing, and could really only play 4-4-2...which in reality isn't enough against a side like Stoke. What yesterday needed was Hammond, James and Cambiasso, unfortunately that wasn't to be, and it showed. Nigel did swing the hammer at that final nail though by bringing on Lawrence, and not Albrighton.

Other results went our way as well so it's really frustrating. Hope we can put it behind us quickly and it's not the start of another run like before

Why not start this game, knowing what 3 points could do for us, with Ulloa & Kramaric. I would have thought being in the precarious position we are in that he could ill-afford to have £17M sitting on the bench!! Poor performance all round and just look where we could have been with the right result.

Second half they were very clever and kept the ball well. I said when they scored that this could be the worst team to be losing 1 nil to because they won't give us a sniff. Poor was the wrong word

We will get battered in this one, dreading it, but you can't say it's curtains if we lose, you have to look at other results and see how it goes from there.
