st albans fox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Arnautovic - surely the biggest arse to grace our home stadium since jari rantonen. what that lad can do with the ball (and at some pace), given he looks like he ate every pie that was ever made is incredible. i am a tad confused. surely our management team have watched tapes of stoke. surely they realised that we would be bullied off the ball in the midfield. surely they realised that we had to play three in the middle today with a lone striker. i know we had no clear option for midfield no 3 but then nugent could have been instructed to be more withdrawn or how about giving one of the development squad a chance? bringing lawrence on against the most physically demanding side in the league was laughable, considering knocks was on the other flank. honestly, it was like watching the U14's against the U19's. its no good having two 'small' strikers when you are happy to concede possession and left to resort to lumping it up to them. stoke had done their homework. they were happy to allow our back four to have the ball. they were not happy to allow the wingers or midfield two in their half. like i said earlier, hopefully it was an aberration and we can get back to better practice next week.

I really don't get your point. We lost against Spurs, like the previous 3 million games. Suddenly we won a few, and now we're back to playing bob. Clearly luck was on our side in that little run, especially when you have to rely on Paul Konchesky of all people to score a goal.

Two was all we could go with. I was surprised Albrighton didn't play a part today, felt he's been effective in the last two matches.

We did our homework, they took their chanc we didnt. The difference was a bit of class from a lad that should have been one of the worlds best, we don't have that.

It's exactly the same after the international breaks, 2 weeks off keeping yourself fit shouldn't be an excuse for anyone Not sure where you lot are getting two weeks from...his last game was around december 17, so he hasn't played for at least 4 weeks.

Far from punching above our weight, we're owned by the Coates family who are proper fans with local connections and employ local people, there's something to say in that. Watch this space for the names we'll be attracting, in Hughes we have a manager who knows the game inside out with outstanding connections to massive European clubs, for example Bojan cost us less than €1,000,000

The centre of Stoke is a dump, but it's our dump, and we quite enjoyed having the run of you nice city today. It's a shame that your home support couldn't lift your team, the first few years in the prem we lifted our team, now they lift us. Hope you stay up so that I can comeback to enjoy the local hostelries

Could've been another yellow, could've even been a straight red and we lose our best defender for at least a game. We got away with that today.
