yep, great day for palace, only winners down there. think i saw someone say that on the "in play" table burnley were 12th at half time, 17th at full time! it's tight, giving up now is ridiculous. knocky finishes his half chance today and we're 17th, are people like ealingfox planning who'll leave when we're relegated then? doubt it.

we've got some tough fixtures coming up, but so have everyone else. if we're still within any slight touch of safety after our next 6-8 games we've got the run in everyone is jealous of. draw a line through today, disappointing after building momentum over the last two weeks, "missed opportunity" as nige says, but still all to play for.

People like ealingfox are planning for next season because Knocky didn't finish that chance, and neither would anyone else who was on the pitch at the time. Let's not kid ourselves about half-chance, it was a free shot at goal in acres of space, admittedly without time, from 12 yards.

Mark Hughs seemed to out-think Pearson at half time. That worries me. Personally I thought our players were pretty comitted. Was would have gone straight through Bojan, rather than backing off, if he hadn't been a nats nut away from a sending off. But then Nigel didn't have the option to sub him 'cos he had Ulloa and Kram on the bench and wanted to bring them on.

MHC, Let's get this right, you wanted to attack the Stoke fans! Hardly makes you any better does it. I'm a Stoke fan who had a nice drink with a few of my Leicester BS mates before and after the game. They seemed to have a more balanced view than you.

A few points to pick up on. Yes we were singing going down, (really liked the so are we chant) and the usual sh@@ ground no fans. That said we sang our full rendition, clearly you have selective hearing. I recall, ole,ole Bojan, here's to you asmir, whealan, super johny, victor he's a winger, we'll be with you, oh when the reds and the odd Delilah. We may have a lot of numpties, and I'm sure you'd fit in. But to say we didn't back the team, you're talking crap.

As for beating average teams, making us look like barca etc. do some research. Muniesa, and arnoutivic on the bench in two champions league finals. Bojan played in one sub in one. The reality is that we have quality in every position, our third choice defence was to good. No shawcross or Pieters.

As for the, we should be beating teams like Stoke. This is a Stoke team who are firmly established, we've beaten spurs and man city away.

I apologise for the numpties who follow us, but let's get it right, read your own board. After you beat us and united you were world beaters, tonight it's Pearson out. Before criticising others have a look closer to home.

If you keep the faith you'll stay up, but you've got to give the team a lift. Today the fans more than the players thought all they had to do was turn up.

Stoke fans turned up, the players turned up and did enough.

Yeah but we should be beating teams like Stoke at home without question, no disrespect. I never said "Pearson out" he is the ONLY man for the job. Stoke players didn't turn up, they were there for the taking and we blew it, should've won and if we played as well as we can you would've been on the receiving end of a defeat, absolutely no doubt about it. Consider today a gift because it was.

Fvck. This didn't look good today. This was a game that had to be won. Or, at least, not lost.

If you want to stay up you need to buy a good midfielder and both full backs. None of your midfielders are on a Premier League level. Cambiasso is ok, he's got the experience and the winners spirt you need, but you need a man with an idea next to him. Drinkwater, James, King, Hammond... all good back up and rotation players, but nothing more then that. An above average player, N'Zonzi, looked like Xavi today. You need a match winners. The full backs are poor. You really need two players that can play in both directions.

The rest of the squad is ok. Your CBs and wingers are good. Ulloa is a good target man. Hamer is a solid goalie, Nugent is ok. Vardy I don't really like. He has pace and that's about it.

Tripe, I love you. My only problem is that you refer to Leicester as "you" rather then "us". Join the revolution and get involved! Stuff Rijeka lol

Disgusting club??

We took the three points, oh yes and we relegated you.

The sooner you crawl back to the Championship and the inevatble dropping like a lead balloon the better.

Disgusting is a strong word to use, but oh well I'm a better person than you.

I apologised to you as a result of comments I made which I considered unacceptable and then you go ahead and say something like this! Proof that Stoke fans are vile cretins who belong in league one along with their small club. I bet you was one of the morons who were at the King Power (which is bigger and better then the Brittania may I add) who were arrogant and ungracious. F#ck off and die!

Yep he bought Jo for man city for £17 million. Class manager.

Mark Hughes is an awful manager. Glad he is at Stoke because he WILL take them down to the lower leagues where they belong.

Pathetic really mate, Look at Kompany....

Man City are massive financialy and the 17 million you refer to is peanuts to them, without going into exact detail I'd be quite confident in saying that since hughes has been at stoke, two seasonsseasons, he's spent less than 6-7 million but as ive said watch this space with what we're planning.

Hopefully you're planning to improve the quality of your inbred fans who are repulsive.

Hamer - poor. One cracking save from Nzonzi but let us down with his kicking. Made us wasteful in possession and didn't spot easier options when they presented themselves.

Defence - Average. Need to watch their goal back again but there were too many times their players could have been closed down but it was just a touch of quality from Bojan to get it in from there. Wasilewski could have been sent off and was probably lucky not to, really. Marriner has no bollocks so wasn't gonna happen. Lot of aimless balls up top though which their defence was going to deal with constantly.

Midfield - totally dominated. Never had control of the game and struggled to provide service to the forwards. Not sure why Albrighton wasn't featuring today after decent performances vs Newcastle and Villa. Lawrence was ineffective when coming on and I know they were our only central midfield options but King and Drinkwater don't work together. Schlupp only performed in patches - a couple of decent runs and a good cross for Knocky but other than that nothing doing for him. Maybe he wasn't fully fit but could have done better.

Strikers - Nugent and Vardy couldn't get involved as much as desired. Didn't see much of the ball and I don't think Vardy should be starting matches. Top 3 preference is Ulloa, Kramaric then Nugent. I've stuck by Vardy this season and will continue to do so when he plays, but he really shouldn't be starting ahead of our top scorer.

...or at all. The Premiership is not for Vards, sadly

Posted

We need players that can keep possession and give quality passes to the forwards from midfield, you can already see the runs Kramaric makes, but all season so far our problem has been keeping possession and making the right passes

If we got the result we should have today we would be 16th!!!

I'm more concerned because of who we have coming up in the next 6 games, I hope we are not well out of reach come March time

Posted

i wish we didn't have fans like you

Been going since I was 8, gone home and away since, love Pearson. He saved us and i'm fully aware of it.

Don't think we'll stay up based on 5 months of evidence, having been to plenty of the games.

Goes without saying that I am praying with all my footballing heart that we stay up, but I think we will need another crack at it, and I am happy to wait for time.

Really not that offensive.

If we might digress, I thought Krammy looked alright really. Both showed for the ball and dipped out of play, decent touch and wanted to shoot.

I really don't get your point. We lost against Spurs, like the previous 3 million games. Suddenly we won a few, and now we're back to playing bob. Clearly luck was on our side in that little run, especially when you have to rely on Paul Konchesky of all people to score a goal.

Sorry, luck on our side when we were absolutely conned out of two points at Liverpool?

I appreciate we were lucky to face a ****ing awful Villa side but swings and roundabouts. Everyone gets to play them.

I don't like Stoke at all - but the brushing off of them on here has been nothing short of laughable and sadly predictable. Stoke are an established Premier League club. They're far more than we are at this level at the minute. We were always going to be underdogs.

I don't think we played all that bad really.

Plenty of endeavour - VARDY looked lively.

SCHLUPP - Usual Powerful Display.

KONCHESKY - Solid in the main.

WASILEWSKI - Up for it as usual.

KNOCKAERT - Tryer.

HAMER - Hero.

DRINKWATER - Passionate.

KRAMERIC - looked good when he came on.

Plenty of positives: just a shame that we didn't have a goal to celebrate for the fans who brave the weather and get their NUTS frozen off with no reward.

KEEP THE FAITH!

I'm sorry but I'm struggling to see how anyone can draw a single positive out of that game.

Was he well out of his depth in the first 5 games, was he well out of his depth between Hull and Villa? Today was one poor performance, but our performances in general have deserved better than our current position - look at Spurs and Man City last month - it's no stretch to say we deserved 4 points from those two games...

No, I'm just not a reactionary moron - Pearson has improved us season after season, and we've been picking up again the past month. One poor performance doesn't cancel all that out.

I'd argue that we are about where we deserve to be. I can only think of three or four games where, arguably, we deserved more. For the most part we've deserved what we got. Too often our work-rate and energy levels are way off what they should be.

And, looking at today's line-up, I'd have to contest the idea that Pearson has improved on the side that we had last season.

His big calls, this season, have too often back-fired. And, often enough, there's been no real need to make those calls. Like dropping Ulloa and Albrighton today. If we're talking about team selections, then a computer could probably have done a better job than Pearson at times.

He's a talented manager. But HE has to get better. I can't help but feel that he hasn't given us our best possible chance of winning the game. I think today was an example of having Pearson as our manager actually being counter-productive. We'd have been better off with nobody.

Of course, such things happen at all clubs. I appreciate that everybody gets it wrong sometimes. And I'm very much behind Pearson, too. But his handling of today's game was - not for the first time this season - way below what you'd expect of a competent top flight manager.

We did play all that bad today, really.

'DRINKWATER - Passionate.' He was an absolute pile of shit. Again.

'KONCHESKY - tryer'. Ditto.

But I can't knock the conclusions you've come to, I can't criticise the fact that some of these remarks pay little attention to the miserable performance. Because our manager repeatedly makes decisions which appear equally ignorant of our performances this season.

I honestly thought today's display was that of a side which has no chance of staying up. Of course, we have a great chance of staying up. But if our manager continues to make totally unnecessary changes like those which fundamentally backfired on him today, then we may as well give up now. That line-up represented a backward step from the sides we were putting out last season. And there were clearly better alternatives available.

It will take time,

And it ain't over till it's over ~ then in our 2nd consecutive year in the PREM will see a bit of stability.
