steveherbe Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Any ideas why we had so many Police in attendance yesterday? High Road was stacked with vehicles before and after the game, inside the ground more than I've seen in years, and all those mounted coppers afterwards, blocking the road. I know we are high risk, but we aint bloody Millwall. Ridiculous waste of police time, unless anyone knows of a genuine reason?
davieG Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Probably because there was trouble at/associated our last 2 games.

promised land Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Waste of police time? The club (spurs) pay for the policing as far as I know so it's not a burden on the tax payer. Always amused by the horse plod in London, not many other aways outside of the smoke you see them at. Must be the Met way.
steveherbe Posted 25 January 2015 Author Posted 25 January 2015 Wasnt aware of that Dave, perhaps we are turning into Millwall? Heard that 2 Spurs fans got a kicking at Seven Sisters underground before the game.

Still a waste of police time though, could have been out catching benefit cheats and illegal immigrants. That was supposed to be funny, please dont report me.
chrishlcfc Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 I know I rolled in about 2 minutes to three and there was a group of about 20 lads who were being a bit rowdy not really causing trouble but they were being escorted in by 2 riot vans 4 horses and about 40 coppers , I missed at least 5 minutes of the match because of this.
AndWhat? Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Spurs only pay for coppers inside the ground. Tax payers pay for all the rest.
Sir Fynwy Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Spurs only pay for coppers inside the ground. Tax payers pay for all the rest. Clubs pay for policing of the ground footprint, basically inside and immediately outside the ground.
AndWhat? Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Clubs pay for policing of the ground footprint, basically inside and immediately outside the ground. Ahh ok, so the clubs pay for police on their property? So we'd pay for police standing out side the away end at the KP?
Soar Fox Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Wasnt aware of that Dave, perhaps we are turning into Millwall? Heard that 2 Spurs fans got a kicking at Seven Sisters underground before the game. I saw two get a bit of a beating after the game near seven sisters. They deserved it aswell as I saw them try and hit a lad no older than 17 just because he was singing after the game.
Ross-Kemp Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Category C game apparently (highest possibility of trouble). The escort was a joke, 40+ coppers for less than 20 lads, plus the horses & riot vans, embarassing.

If it's same two I saw they were drinking rum and coke all way up from ground right pair of crack lickers Tried to lump some kid out side station got filled in I hate violence but them two deserved what they got Even Spurs fans seemed happy they got a slap
Jakemoore Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Really? Walking back up the high street towards seven sisters after the game we were in a group of about 10 Leicester fans and we were singing songs which was probably a bit stupid. Anyway, a fat, short bald spurs scumbag walked over and threw the worst punch I have ever seen at one of our lot. A chase then began as a few spurs fans tried to catch him to presumably knock him out. We all ran after them only to protect him as he was one of our own, he was young and out numbered (I'm not violent in the slightest) the short, bald spurs fan then followed us the whole way to the tube station but we out numbered him so he didn't say or do anything. I heard that one of our lot punched him but didn't see it myself. This whole thing happened on the street with thousands of people around but not one Bobby saw it!

blueharmie Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Come on now even the shirtiest of shirters will know Leicester have a bit a rep. It kicks off quite alot doesn't it compared to thay of say Watford!
Jakemoore Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 We were just singing with was naive but we weren't being abusive just joyous!
Soar Fox Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 We were just singing with was naive but we weren't being abusive just joyous! I would have been walking behind you then. You lot weren't doing anything wrong, the 2 blokes came out of nowhere, funny trying to watch the fat cvnt chase that young lad though. One of the blokes I was with then said something to the Spurs fan but he didn't seem very brave then.
BigMicky Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 We were just singing with was naive but we weren't being abusive just joyous! That's not naivety.
Foxey id Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Always police horses outside the away end at Spurs.
Jakemoore Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 That's not naivety.Well it wasn't the most intelligent thing to do but we were obviously on such a high.
Bayfox Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 bit off topic but anyone get the 2.15 overground from liverpool st to whl. plenty of old bill but they let us have a good sing song on the train. including giving some spurs youth some right shit. to be fair he took, you must have come on a pushbike and where's your foreskin gone, quite well
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 January 2015 Posted 26 January 2015 Clubs pay for policing of the ground footprint, basically inside and immediately outside the ground. This is correct.
