Again, I will repeat basic common sense. Just because we signed some kid from Aberdeen, it doesn't suddenly mean every resource at the club has gone into signing him does it.

The deal could have been on the cards we weeks, or months. It could have been done and dusted but for a signature long before we ever knew.

The club are not going to divert the attention of people who really matter in first team affairs to sign a kid are they, especially at the expense of another signing.

so why wait until we are waiting for news of the signing that might help or give us hope to announce a17 year old that's all

Just this once we need to think about the present. This late in the day we should be focusing on players who will make an immediate impact.

Today will only last 24 hours... yet there will always be tomorrow.

If you plan sensibably for the future, it will take care of the coming now.

Based on what? Signing Robert Huth, a good premier league CB. Signing a £7/8m Centre forward wanted by Chelsea?

Of course there are. But we don't have unlimited scouting resources, we'll have made lists of players and scouted them extensively. If you go down the list and none of them are available for whatever reason what do you do? Sign players you don't really fancy or haven't scouted properly?

So we're desperate for a left back and we sign a development player. I can almost guarantee this Kelly fella will not make one single first team appearance.

None of them seem to be that talented though and it's not as if they are particularly young.

James Pearson 22 years old been here 3 years on loan at Wrexham.

Adam Dawson 22 years old been here 18 months on loan at Nuneaton.

Jacob Blyth 22 years old been here 2 1/2 years on loan to Burton.

That just 3 examples but none of them are hardly going to be pushing for a first team spot anytime soon are they.

And? I repeat my point, shall we just not bother then. Might as well close the development squad down, send back the category one status and just spent on ready made players.

Because they didn't think a load of idiots with their dicks in their hands would actually have a problem with attempting to find young talent.

You are aware they all cost next to **** all. And if we get a few hundred k each for them it helps with ffp as well. Conspiracy I know.

But look at cheslki. How many kids do they have out on loan. Most will never get a game but if you get 300k from Swindon for them. All good.

Shocking record that is really. Unfortunately we don't seem able to really bring through youngsters in the way Southampton can.

Well two of those were jobs for the boys, don't know much about Dawson? Wasn't Blyth a favour for Shakespeare's mate at Leamington?

Again, you don't seem to be able to grasp the basic fact that signing this lad does not have to mean we cannot sign other players.

Whether he ends up making it or not is immaterial, shall we just not bother trying to unearth them? Maybe, just maybe, one day one of these young players will make it and will play for the first team.

I'll be happy for them to keep it open. Hopefully Pearson sends someone down Vicky park on Sunday mornings and they see something in me that they could develop.

I'm sure Pearson will try him on both wings before the end of the season.

He might even push the boat out and try him at LB or RB.

Sarcasm aside, lol at this. Ah well, at least he'll get plenty of game time next season.

What answer do you want, the answer is in my post. It's not my fault we have a massive number of morons as fans.

Who does manage to bring through talent like them?

We currently have several regularly in our first team squad which isn't bad. Some teams have none with all the money in the world to spend.

its just about the timing not the player in the situation we are in its not what you want to read when It could of happened earlier

Yeah Shakespeare is good friends with the Leamington manager.

James Pearson doesn't seem to have done too bad out of this club either.

Except that the point still stands that this signing has no bearing on our efforts to make more short-term signings and whether they'll be successful or not.  It looks like we're struggling to bring in all the starting quality players that we would like in this window, but that's no reason to bash the completion of a signing that we can make for the future.

So basically it's your problem then and not the clubs. Glad we cleared that up.

Why not tonight? What does it matter? Do you really, hand on heart actually think the club would somehow put off other deals to sign this lad?

The club haven't even said a word, it came out through his mates on twitter. What are they meant to do, send out gagging orders to prevent a few people being upset that transfer deadline day is ruined because we signed a kid from Scotland.
