Guest MattP Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 PotM is too aspergers to troll. I don't think he understands sarcasm or irony. If he's not though we are talking a different level of retard to anything we've seen on here before.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Off the top of my head, your squad has at least one South African and three Samoans (one born in Samoa, one in NZ and one in Aus.) Then there's the recently retired Matt Stevens, the Fijian serviceman at Bath who made his debut in the autumn, Vainokolo a few years back and probably a load more I've forgotten. You were also one of the first I can think of to field an international this way, Mike Catt? Not that Wales don't have similar issues but your tone seemed to imply that England were above this sort of thing. Think Stevens and Catt had English parentage so not quite as bad though I still wouldn't have them. Unfortunately we are not above it. Ridiculous that we pick such guys but don't pick actual Englishmen who play in France.

Nalis Posted 11 February 2015 Author Posted 11 February 2015 Unconvincing win for Ireland last weekend but a win is a win and the 6 Nations really kicks off for us this weekend v France. France offered little v Scotland and with Sexton back we should have too much for them. England to beat Italy in first gear. Wales to prove too much for Scotland. Scotland playing their usual 6 nations role of having 3/4 decent players but an average team as a whole.
leicsmac Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 That was a terrific watch. Always brilliant to beat a country at their national sport in their own park. Well, it happens to us often enough it's nice to hand it out once in a while too.
Nick Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Fair play to Italy - good start! England don't as yet appear like the motivation has kicked in and the complacency kicked out of them.
StanSP Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Mike Brown looks like he just suffered a bad head injury. Will probably go off if it's any sign of concussion especially in the aftermath of the George North injury last week.
Nick Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Mike Brown looks like he just suffered a bad head injury. Will probably go off if it's any sign of concussion especially in the aftermath of the George North injury last week. Yeah didn't look great - both for his nut or his neck. Shoulder to jaw like that is pretty much like being hit by a heavyweight whilst wearing a blindfold, standing with your feet together. Hope he recovers okay.
StanSP Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Yeah seeing it from the angle from behind the posts it makes it look worse. He was conscious though which is a good sign I guess.
GingerrrFox Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Gabby Logan in so ****ing annoying. She's the BBC's equivalent of Adrian Chiles. Too busy trying to push her own opinion rather than letting the pundits speak. She hasn't got a ****ing scooby.
Vacamion Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Has anyone else noticed that the Oirish crowd appears capable of creating an atmosphere and singing songs without the need for stupid music every time they score? Lesson for the English RFU, and indeed the rest of sport there....
Finnegan Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 God this is ****ing boring. Disappointing, usually one of the best games.
Uncle Phil Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Has anyone else noticed that the Oirish crowd appears capable of creating an atmosphere and singing songs without the need for stupid music every time they score? Lesson for the English RFU, and indeed the rest of sport there.... Yeah I noticed the try music for England earlier, when did they start that? It's feckin crap.
Finnegan Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Scotch shouting England in their national anthem seeps it's way in to rugby as well. Tinpot.
Nalis Posted 15 February 2015 Author Posted 15 February 2015 Yeah Ireland France was more tense than appealing, neither team really let the other play. Scotland v Wales was surprisingly entertaining, helped get over the Villa game.
Guest MattP Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Scotch shouting England in their national anthem seeps it's way in to rugby as well. . Knew that would happen post ref.... Thought Wales played fairly well today, still tricky Scotland away. Next round of fixtures probably decides it.
Vacamion Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Scotch shouting England in their national anthem seeps it's way in to rugby as well. . Are they really doing that, though? I have heard Jocks shouting in between as follows: "That stood against him [ shout GAINST WHO?] Proud Edward's army [shout WANKERS] And sent him homeward Tae think again." Which bit did you hear them shouting ENGLAND in? Not a fan of adding lines to anthems. Even adding "No Surrender" in GSTQ before "send her victorious", which I used to do as a kid...
Finnegan Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Whether it's Wankers or England the meaning is the same and either way it's thoroughly embarrassing and awful.
Nick Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Whether it's Wankers or England the meaning is the same and either way it's thoroughly embarrassing and awful. England for the Grand Slam, Finners?
Finnegan Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 No, I doubt it. I stand by what I said, I can't see England winning in both Dublin and Cardiff. They could well win it on points if we beat the Irish, however, if they do to Scotland what they did to Italy. I don't want to say that England only won in Cardiff because Wales stopped at half time, that would be too harsh. But at the same time, I don't think too much should be read in to that one result. That's exactly what happened two years ago when England believed they were on course for a slam and got annihilated at the millennium. I think Lancaster and the squad have learned from that, though, and I don't see them going to Ireland with naivety or arrogance. Just think Ireland will have a bit too much grit and more professionalism than we had. Yes, they were underwhelming against France but they got the job done and that's the Schmidt way. Taking care of business. If the game was in Twickenham then who knows? But it's not. Ireland by 5 - 8 (and a Grand Slam if they beat us.)
Vacamion Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Ireland v England will be a tense and brutal affair. Can't imagine there will be much champagne rugby going on.
Finnegan Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Ireland v England will be a tense and brutal affair. Can't imagine there will be much champagne rugby going on. Not in the slightest, haha. If the Irish back row forwards and Sexton perform then it'll be a hideous Irish win for me.
Finnegan Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 The TMO for Sunday's game was stabbed in the lung in a bodged car jacking attempt in Cape Town following the Blues Stormers game at the weekend. Mad country. He's stable but unlikely to partake in Dublin.
