Bryn Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 The four players on that massive graphic above the club shop. Just sums it up really, doesn't it? Four of the biggest stars we had last season. One has forgotten how to play, one injured, one worth a goal to the other team and one can't get a game for Brentford. Not one single member of this club has stepped up this season at all and that image, as I gazed at it on my way from the ground, really hammered that home.
AKCJ Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 I think only Mahrez and James can come out of this season with even a smudge of credit. Drinkwater in particular has looked feckin awful.

Matt Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 #fearless I'd say #useless or #shitscared was more apt.
canadaukfox Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 I think youre probably forgetting the player of the season..... Mr SchluppFirst thought was theres no way id have Schlupp as POTS! Goes to show how varied and different what we "see" over 90 mins is! He's had his moments but too dopey in positional play and first touch is often woeful. But then who else do you pick?? Hardly a wealth of choice... Id go Cambiasso just because he is clearly a class above.

Only time he and James have played together this season in a central two was second half against spurs and the first half an hour at anfield (with Hammond screening). I reckon that 75 minutes was probably the best football we have played all season. Apart from that, I don't recall the two of them being given the chance to play together. When they did earlier in the campaign, it was part of that awful diamond and not as a two with DD on the right. we know he is a confidence player. That must be shot to pieces.

Would say the same on confidence about Vardy, Moore and to a lesser extent Nuge. All will be surely critical to our success back in championship yet seem to be completely out of sorts. It's not just about the step up in level - Boyd Barnes et al are proving that at Burnley.
Jmd88 Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 You say how they have been shit but most of them haven't had a decent run of games apart from Morgan who was always going too get found out at this level. But moore drinkwater okay they have played the odd time but mostly out of position look at drinkwater half way through the season he came into the side and played right midfield against Southampton and then the same for a few games. And then got dropped and hasn't played since moore the best centre half at the club in my opinion gets loaned out. The gaffer is ****ing deluded in my eyes. Okay Kasper has been injured all season so you can't really say much about that. But at the start off next season ill put my house on it that not one off them four will be with us. I think drinkwater and Kasper will be playing in pre or against us in the championship, god I hope if drinky goes anywhere it's not the championship because he will rip us apart as he did the last time he played against us. I just think we're going too loose most of our youngsters and it's all persons fault
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Not one single member of this club has stepped up this season at all and that image, as I gazed at it on my way from the ground, really hammered that home.Bit harsh. Apart from some already mentioned, Hammond and Hamer (Ham n' Ham) have barely put a foot wrong - it pisses me off more and more they aren't getting a look in. But on the whole, yeah, not many have made the step up

Agree with that and I think most of the fanbase would too. Cambiasso is clearly a class above the rest, Ulloa has scored 9 goals in a poor team. Can't think of much more positives this season. Shame really, especially given how we totally dominated the second division last season.
Steve Earle Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Cant quite agree with Bryn but do agree with AKCG - James and Mahrez have pushed on and look at ease at this level. I can't think of another player who hasn't fallen below expectation this season, with the exception of those for whom expectations were on the floor (eg Konchesky). On second thoughts I can. Both Hammond and Wasilewski have surprised me, without convincing as premiership players.
Dickov22 Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Three teams have won the championship with over 100 points and the lowest (until now) finish was 13th.
Soar Fox Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Three teams have won the championship with over 100 points and the lowest (until now) finish was 13th. And if we don't get another 8 points we'll be in the top 5 worst ever premiership teams.
Matt Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 And if we don't get another 8 points we'll be in the top 5 worst ever premiership teams. I think it's fair to say that'd be a fair reflection.
