They've no idea

Jeez, the amount of Facebook updates I'm getting at the moment from these plastic scousers, even some from Chelsea now is unreal.

I can't help feeling a little sorry for them though.

They're currently sitting there with their Doritos and dips pretending to be nervous and shouting "scum" everytime Ashley Cole goes near the ball. Add to that the fact they're sitting in full replica gear with You'll Never Walk Alone playing in the background, it's quite worrying.

They've no idea though.

Some of these same people were updating their statii yesterday saying "Get in there Steve Howard" and "Come on, Leicesters going up". However, I seriously doubt that they felt what we did yesterday when that ball hit the net. The sheer carnage after we scored yesterday, this is something they will never get to experience or know how to feel. Even the people that weren't there yesterday can surely draw upon a similar feeling. When we scored a last minute winner against our biggest rivals? When we went 4-0 up at the Sheepshaggers? When Max Gradel stook one in the top corner against MK Dons? Steve Claridge's shin?

You have to feel for them, the way most people my age are introduced to football is sad.

I often try to explain to them the feeling of falling down about three rows and getting kicked all over the place by fellow fans. It just doesn't register with them.

Ahh well.

Steve Howard's goal > Liverpool coming back against Chelsea (or not).

It is sad, and I laugh at them, No Leicester ain't gonna be as good as Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, e.t.c, They ain't gonna win the Premiership and we may only be in League One at the moment, however I have experienced much better feelings, much more passion, many more lows - Without the lows they highs wouldn't be as good (As weird as that sounds) the lists goes on, for this I feel honored and privileged.

Like I said yesterday - We never do things the easy way, We should and could have had this league wrapped up by mid-march, but if everything was so easy, it wouldn't be half as enjoyable - That really does sound weird doesn't it.

There wasn't much better feelings than yesterday it was amazing, and not many of the people you describe will feel that.

Being a football fan is much more than watching on Sky, or buying a shirt.

Well said Ched. I've been buzzing since Howard's header hit the net, ran down the stairs, hugged the bloke in front then my family.

That's why I'd hate to be a fan of one of those clubs. I'd never feel this sort of elation and emotion. I know loads of people like you have mentioned.

In all honesty i cannae stand "fans" of the big four clubs. These people aren't real fans they're just jumping on the band-wagon and following them for the glory. I would rather watch a club that i can identify with than a club i have no links to. If that means supporting a team like hinckley or cowdenbeath rather than man u or rangers then so be it.

I often look at these kind of fans and think how lame they are.

For christ sake, i didn't even grow up here and i'm a true Leicester fan.

Definately, I can only sit through a Leicester game, whether this is just a poor attention span or what, but I wouldn't be able to resist just getting my laptop if I was watching the Chelsea v Liverpool game, which i'm not, cos I for one couldn't give a monkeys who wins.

They should rename the big four

Should be called the big bore

Good call mate, this is a terrible game.

Some of them grow out of it too thankfully, and realise they've wasted their youth "supporting" a team to whom they've never really had a genuine connection. It's usually when they get to that age where they start seeing their mates going off together on a Saturday to some far flung part of the country to cheer on their team, while they're stuck in their living room glued to Sky Sports. Then it begins to dawn on them what they're missing out on.

I don't begrudge anyone the right to support any team for any given reason, but I'm glad that I support who I support, and have never harboured any thoughts of following anyone else since I was five years old.

I must say though I do find it quite patronising and condescending when these kinds of people "cheer on" their little local side Leicester City for a bit of a joke, while at the same time citing their religious views on facebook as "Chelsea FC" or something equally pukeworthy.

It is ridiculous, none of these plastic fans understand real football emotion. None of them could understand or feel my joy yesterday, sitting in a car park in Essex with Five Live on listening to our game when Howard's header hit the net.

The number of my Leicester mates who used to support Man U is phenominal, majority of them did.

if it weren't the easter hols i might tune in at the end to find out the score seeing as alot of people in my classes "support" liverpool or chelsea. if that were the case then i would want to see a boring goaless draw to have happen so i could revel in the fact that I had been through an exciting weekend full of more neutral gripping, nail biting drama than anything matches between the big four could conjure up.

I cannae see why the glory supporters claim to be fans despite never having seen them anywhere except on tv and knowing that every true fan hates them more than fans of their teams local rivals. I may not like forest, derby or cov but i respect their fans for following their local team and showing a love of proper football not that rubbish shown in the premier league.

Chelsea have the worst 'bandwagon' fans.

When Man U were relegated in 1973/74 they maintained a decent level of attendance. When Chelsea were relegated in 1978/79 by season 1981/82 they were only getting 10 to 15000 attendance in the old Division 2.

Mind you, attendances were pretty awful during the 80's especially our 1985/86 season in the old Division 1 - highest home attendance 42551 v Aston Villa (which was a bit of a 'one-off'), lowest home attendance 7232 v West Brom (which was more like it!).
