I wouldn't swop supporting Leicester for the past 30 years for the world, living near Grantham nowadays people don't know their arse from their elbows in regards to supporting someone. Not really their fault as there's no one that near but there's an array of football shirts paraded round here, mostly F****t and Chelsea.

Tis because on occasions, some peoples arses are their elbows, in those Lincolnshire parts

Was out earlier and I saw a lad of about 15-y-o wearing a Man Utd shirt, then a kid of about 6-y-o came in wearing a Leicester Kit - Felt so proud! :giggle:

The number of my Leicester mates who used to support Man U is phenominal, majority of them did.

I remember one evening getting a text from a mate reading:

Dave, bonfire, all my man u gear, I'm converting!

I have to say, after sitting in a pub watching the Leeds match, I understand this 'support via tv' thing even less - after 10 seconds of desperately avoiding making a spectacle of myself in the middle of Basingstoke, I just couldn't help thinking two things - 'Looks amazing, wish I was there' and 'oh bollocks, I didn't get a southend ticket did I?'

Poor Alex, Ricey etc....

Is it just my network of friends or are all the Chelsea "fans" on facebook taking more joy in having a go at Scousers than they are in celebrating "their" team's victory?

I remember that sketch. Sums it up perfectly for me. lol

"It must be from all the boxing I did in Raging Bull"

I've never seen that. Brilliant! lol

Most of them weren't brought up to support their local side. Maybe they were not from a football family, thus you just cannot expect them all to support their local side. So in a roundabout way, it's not entirely their fault that they grew up watching Sky Sports.

I do agree with you though and I do feel sorry for them - I had to cancel a few plans for Saturday because of Southend, and I got ridiculed for wanting to do a 300 mile round trip to a slum part of the country just to support tiny little Leicester City. That's life, I don't care what they have to say.

I agree with ya Ched. The thing is they will never grasp it. It's difficult to describe as well. That feeling of accomplishment and pride in your hometown.

When that header hit the net, it was like the season was complete. The film should end. All the time I'd spent getting P'boro and Dons tickets and then making the time back up at work, all the pennies I'd spent, all the drama over my bleeding car getting nicked earlier in the season and attempting to get some transport up to Oldham earlier in the season which sadly fell apart, getting my Dad to take my brother and mate to Cov in crappy weather, so we could make it Walsall and all those miles travelled were worth it when Howard's header hit the net.

End of last season, after making a real effort and taking days off and stuff to go to midweek games. I thought forgot this. No way will I become that attached again. I began to question my support. Why put the effort in? They only pizz it up the wall. Of course after Cheltenham away, there I bleeding was again!!

I just wanna say that when my kids look at the ol'history books at 15 and 16 and start going on their own away days, they look at his bleeding season in the Third Division and these places like Cheltenham and Hereford. They will ask me if I was there and I'll reply and turn into Jackanory. I want to be with the club when it's hurting and when it needs help. It can stand on it's feet once it's healed and I'll happy knowing as there when it got hard.

Maybe I am taking things a bit far but that's how I feel. Now I hope everyone has a rosy time at Southend and the title's secured (no-one wanted to go with me and thought it's probably for the better considering coursework's due next week).

They will sit there night and never feel that accomplishment. That pride. Sad really because that's what being part of a football fan is all about. I know ticketing is harder and travelling but at least make a bleeding effort like the other fans who follow teams outside the Premiership.

I agree, they will never experience the levels of happiness or heartbreak that fans you regularly go to their local clubs games and have a real connection with the club do.

And their attempts to belittle leicester are pathetic but are we not just doing the same. they've chosen to support those clubs and have every right to and im sure they believe they have a tue passion for their team. :dunno:

Way life goes atm, no-one can do nothing about it. Glad I didn't go on Monday but I glad I did the big three, Burnley Away, Sheff United Away (Last Season) and Cheltenham Away this year.

Half of you wouldn't even posting on this forum if we was in Colchester's position.

Im so glad my Dad introduced me to Leicester City.

Ive just been out watching Chelsea Liverpool. And if this was my team coming back from a 3-1 or 2-0 I would be going mental.

Some people were getting another drink with 2 minuties to go, wankers. I hate them. Eat shit.

The thing that get's me there are fans on this site that support us from other places around the UK but they arent classed as 'plastic' fans?

Like I said in the other thread it's about how people become associated with a club.

The majority of Liverpool fans that I know just like them because they are good and are encouraged to like them from Sky.

I understand you have family connections, so that's different. But the majority of the new generation are just latching on to popular culture.

That make no sence, the big 3 ? Just because of the atmosphere ? I rather we go up then having a really neat time by singing for the whole game. Your gutted in your heart you missed it and i would had been if i missed it.

Also yes we would, check how big Colchester is to Leicester in terms of how big the two places are.

Likewise, I absolutely choked. Fabulous.

And while I generally agree with Ched's original post in principal I do wonder why he cares enough to go on some crusade about it. Let people be to whatever makes them happy I suppose.

I've just got in from another pub shift and took great joy, when Liverpool went 2-0 up, at standing up and proclaiming to all of the plastic c*nts in the room that the big game took place yesterday at 12:15pm and resulted in a 1-0 win for Leicester over Leeds. They were gobsmacked. Winner.

Yeah I agree. You'd have to be a bit of a twat to have something like a Man City signature and avatar suddenly appear in the season they get billions invested.

Surely people go to football matches for the atmosphere aswell as following the team. It's the part and parcel of following your local team isn't it? How am I gutted? Yeah we won 1-0 I'm happy but I made a promise months back that I wouldn't go to a game because I lost alot of love for it.

How does size of place come to where you finish in the league? lol

A game that was so big that you couldn't be bothered to attend..
