Guest Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Personally I wouldn't think so. Yes I know WACCOLO, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who don't frequent the Walkers who don't see it as a massive deal, unlike getting promotion to the premiership which would I'm sure result in an open top tour. But then, what the hell do I know?
Joe. Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I very much doubt it. Promotion back to the Championship won't be regarded as something which warrants that kind of celebration in my opinion.
Dan Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 We wouldn't because anyone thats not been going all season won't really care, because after all, it is only about being in low League One, and not about watching Leicester City.
Ultra Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I'm told by sources at the council that we may have a civic reception, but that will be as far as it goes.
Mort Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I'm told by sources at the council that we may have a civic reception, but that will be as far as it goes. A Chance for Willmott and Vaz to bask in the reflected glory... ...that said what politican wouldnt. And, for all the grandstanding, the Council handles these sort of events well, as the parade a few weeks back showed (Leicester at it's best).
Granno Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 An open bus tour for me, would be slighty tacky. I know being champions is a great thing, but being champions of league 1 was kind of expected. Getting promoted to the premiership? they can tour all they like
Jon the Hat Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Haha. Doubt it. Celebrate the clubs lowest ever league position
Mickey O'Neil Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 There's a yellow sign on Regents Road that says this is part of a route for something happening on the 25th or 26th. Don't know what that could be though. Marathon? Please not a tour Hope a civic reception is held rather than an open top tour.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Haha. Doubt it. Celebrate the clubs lowest ever league position The glass is very much half empty for you then?
AjcW Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Dont know if anyone else saw the signs on london road saying, closed for procession route on 26th april...... is this us or something else??
Fosse Boy Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Dont know if anyone else saw the signs on london road saying, closed for procession route on 26th april...... is this us or something else?? Could be a Scouts St. George's Day parade? Don't they usually hold them on the nearest Sunday to 23rd April?
CosbehFox Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Could be a Scouts St. George's Day parade? Don't they usually hold them on the nearest Sunday to 23rd April? Correct!
Huuuuuume Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Think on Sunday 26th it's a Sikh procession from one Sikh temple to another to celebrate Vaisakhi. (Holy Bones to East Park Road) Not sure what route it will take though.
shiv Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Even Wolves aren't having one. yeah i know, they decided it would be better to have their own promotion to the premiership beer
leicesterseddon Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 if we ever had an open-top tour after winning this league, i would never feel the same when i tell people i support leicester...
AmericanScott Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 The players deserve a reception of some sort. Town hall square maybe? It might inject them with the hunger to do it again next season.
iancognito Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I said in another thread that winning the thing was great but lets not crow about it. Just win it, get out of this poxy league and forget we were here and I got people saying that I can't have been to many games because this season was fantastic. That missed my point a bit because I don't want to dwell on being in the third tier, just look forward to being back in the second and a bus tour wouldn't be much good for that.
Filbert_Ross Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 The players deserve a reception of some sort. Town hall square maybe? It might inject them with the hunger to do it again next season. they'll get it friday!
Saladin Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 They're having a open top bus tour of the city on Monday following their promotion to the Championship... Shouldn't we be having one? or is it a case of forgetting about this season as quick as possible?
