  1. I can see why we may be going down this route. It's quite clear we have to be financially practical, as much as we want it, winks and vestegaard probably going nowhere, and we know they're good enough for championship football, and Martin is probably the obvious choice to manage more in the style that they thrived in last season, its crap but I think we're likely to see little incoming, and martin is cheapest option to manage the situation
  2. Man utd must surely be in financial trouble now, they still bring in huge revenue but still
  3. We have a wage bill reportedly £10m a season more than Forest, this is what we need to get away from.
  4. I mentioned that on Facey, and Forest selling that nobody keeper for £25m, there's crooked deals all over
  5. Wellllll, it kind of is if you like at some creative accounting of some of the other premier league clubs, Forest sold a nobody keeper last season for £25m. Chelsea there ladies team to themselves, man utd got awarded £40m covid allowance whilst rest of league got £1m, I'm sure there's many other examples
  6. To sum up my feelings on this argument, I'm more worried about us replacing our squad, mainly our striker, than I am about replacing RVN. What does that tell you?
  7. To be fair, neither did the club when we were 2 points off Wolves in January
  8. Im 50/50, I think its more complex than we know. We had Btendan who took us to new heights only to finish with a team that looked unfit and demotivated. When RVN took us over, I said to my dad it will take a miracle to keep.us up.with what we had, that he would need a team that would run twice the distance of the opposition and use his whole squad, then we would.need a decent Jan window. Nothing came of the Jan window when we were 2 points off wolves, that coupled with we kept conceding within the first 10.minutes of games. I don't think RVN is a good manager, but we will likely have so many invomings and outgoings next season, the millions it will cost us to get rid and appoint someone else, May be better spent on players, because I'm not sure you need a tactical genius in the championship. I dunno really, just got to have faith in the club
  9. But you haven't suggested what RVN needed to do? He found that formula where we were almost getting the balance right in games , but then it all fell apart. I don't want RVN here next season, but I also don't want the club being where we're at, and looking at where we are, where money is tight, I think it wiser to put the money into players
  10. Just sitting on the fence, what do we think RVN should have done to get more results? As I see it, he was criticised for not playing buonanotte and Bilal together, he did that with a poor result, we called for wingbacks when mavididi performed poorly, he did that with poor results. When we was starting Winks, match analysis on BTG by Anil showed we were just weak with few challenges in the centre, he brings in Soumare to try to combat that. We also had the JJ issues, it was clear Coulibally isn't the player RVN wanted. The frustrating thing for me is the zonal marking which I think we're crap at, RVN has also said fitness an issue, I dont think we're talking about match fitness, by the high intensity aggressive football RVN wanted to play fitness, maybe we're beginning to see that, I dont know, think it does make sense to use our money elsewhere though.
  11. Not a penalty for me
  12. Aye that was it. I don't understand why BBC wouldn't want to do a show like that.
  13. Used to love that sunday show on Sky with Kammy, he'd really go into in depth analysis with a manager or player on the sofa, discussing all the contentious issues.
  14. I’m sold, wife not convinced. What areas can you recommend?
  15. I'm trying to figure out where to book a holiday for next year, we can only do 7 days at a time because we have a dog and although he goes to the parents, we don't want to burden them or the dog. I've realised since my recent trip to Paris, I just love France, good food, good wine, but want to do more of a summer holiday thing, we will have my 15 year old daughter. I never know where to start with holidays in France, anyone have any suggestions?
  16. Damn, really. That’s disappointing, still think he can have a big part to play for us next season though
  17. When speaking about our defensive line for next season you seemed to completely forget Souttar
  18. I've thought about it, i can see reason for sticking with RVN, and reasons we go with Dyche, and I'm all for Dyche. Offer him a 2 year contract, I think he'll take it, we're perfect for him. I know people moan about his football, but whilst Enzo ball got us up, we was lacking 1 thing, physicality and aggression, and Dyche will instill that. He is just about as high stock as we're gonna get, and he will really want the job living locally, so don't be walk overs when negotiating with him Top. 2 years please, he'll take it for sure
  19. I agree but squad rebuild will be over 4 windows at least i reckon, and Winks bosses the championship
  20. I think we will if the club does want to get back to where we were, but I think they've realised you got to shed all your wage earners and start again to build. I reckon we may be in that phase till 2026/27 where we will begin to spend some money again
  21. I remember club media constantly posting successful club contract renewals during our successful years, we wasn't playing hardball with those players, we were just chucking them big number contracts, we'll have to see if and when their big names come up to 2 yrs left, whether they move them on or pay them the big dollar. It's perhaps where Villa are at present, 1 bad season and they may be in trouble
  22. And just a quick Google search says we're paying £10m more per season in wages. Looking at their transfers last season, Lyon spent around €60m on 2 players from them, then they had that dodgy keeper transfer. They're clearly doing some good work there, we can only hope we have people looking at that.
  23. We need to forget them and concentrate on our own comeback, I've just been schooled on their finances, announcing a £20m profit and they'll be spending big in the summer, I honestly thought they might be up to their PSR limits, but apparently not, they'll have a bigger and better stadium a long time before we will unless we get ourselves together.
