I reckon all it would have took is £25m spend in that January window, and we'd have breezed it

The future of priority schemes invite
splinterdream replied to JayTheFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I thought it was unfair that a ST holder could not renew when we got relegated, but could then go into the ballot with their prior points after we got promoted, therefore naturally having a higher points total than fans after a ST that went to every game in the Championship. Perhaps if you don’t renew, take away half the points. -
Excellent analysis on blue tinted glasses on the Fulham game and general discussion of our tactics...... The conclusion, we're a soft weak minded team that hasn't got a player fit that wants to put in a tackle, so until we get ndidi and mads back, things are pretty hopeless.

Play Thomas and give VK a break, and soumare for.skipp

Been boycotting this season, no shirt, no tickets apart from qpr with my nephew.

If you finish Primeval and you're left wanting more, can recommend the movie Bone Tomahawk with kurt russel, but a warning, it's not for the feint hearted.

What happens during a transfer ban if players want to leave?

I don't think that's correct, we were compliant last season, the season before (22/23) we breached, this season we've no idea. -
Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
splinterdream replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
I loved listening to the podcast, that 2 hrs flew by. The main problems the club have imo is PSR restrictions, and that's because of our wage bill, and why is that so bad? Probably because of Rudkin. Everything does all stem from those issues as far as i can see. The Cooper appointment and the strategy to get in PL experience couldn't have gone more wrong, we'll never know if there was better options. I do feel for Ruud, i think the appointment of ruud was another mistake, we needed a senior experienced manager (i wanted rafa). I think the Bilal decision was a change of formation to try and make something happen but probably wasn't the right one, as Ruud has highlighted, we seem to be only able to play 1 way. Ruud did seem to hint at players not putting in a shift, I hold Mavididi to blame for that 2nd goal as he didn't track back. I think he needs to be dropped and we should try a wing back system now. I hear BDCR get a lot of stick, but he never really gets many minutes, perhaps he's worth a look at? No idea where the club goes from here, think we should keep the young players unless they want to leave and tell the more senior players to find another club, wasn't good if Ayew was patting the badge to the Palace fans. I think @Ric Flair final comments nailed it really. -
We'll never know, nevertheless Ward was number 2 as per Cooper when Jakub got injured, Jakub had just come back, I don't think Ruud could have realised it would go that badly, I reckon it was a decision most managers would have took, that being said, it's the clubs fault imo, Ward should not be at the club after 22/23.

we may have a transfer embargo in the summer
-
we have, but its easy in hindsight when a player underperforms to criticise, but when its a success it's different. I do think too many errors are made though which is why i agree a new DOF is badly needed, but it's not changing any outcome for the next couple of yrs unless we survive
-
1 mistake last summer has led to a disaster that may harm us for yrs, Cooper, and the support of Cooper in our signings was the wrong decision, but was made in a cloud of Enzo leaving, managers turning us down, points deduction hanging over us and the call for transfers.
-
how many assists and goals has Ayew had compared to Facundo? Starting Facundo didn't get us anywhere against Palace
-
agreed, someone should have warned Ruud perhaps, although it was Stowell who was with us 22/23, and he's no longer at the club
-
to do what? We have no funds because PSR has screwed us from the decisions made 4 years ago. I agree that the decisions makers that made those errors from 4 yrs ago should have been dealt with, but since then we've had a successful season, and now it's going wrong again, but there's no money to do anything about it
-
rudkin and whelan go, then what?
-
what do you think Top should do?
-
Maybe if he'd watched the games from 22/23, but Ward was number 2 when Ruud came in. Maybe Ward performs well in training. He gave Ward the chance and he blew it, but we have seen Ward have decent games, it's just likely he has no bottle
-
I agree, and Ruud hinted at some players today not pulling their weight, which is why you can't blame Ruud, this job had to be the toughest job in football, it'd be a miracle if he kept us up, I don't know why somne can't see that
-
I think as fans we need to examine why we're getting angry, we need to evaluate the mistakes made and put them into context before calling out Top. Lets look at mistakes the club made that got us to this point. Overpaying contracts for average players which led to no funds for 22/23 and therefore relegation Poor recruitement prior to relegation Giving a manager a ridiculous contract they couldn't afford to get out of (Rodgers) Not acting on the decision makers that made the mistakes. (Rudkin) Now the good things Recruiting Enzo a good summer recruitement overall 23/24 leading to promotion Staying within PSR limits Now the bad things again Recruiting Cooper Supporting Cooper with poor signings with lack of forsight. You feel they didn't think this through anywhere nearly enough. Now, employing a replacement manager with little to no experience in the situation we're in, wasn't my idea of the best of decisions, however we can't know how many managers turned us down before we settled on Cooper, perhaps we weren't offering huge wages, perhaps we were honest about the transfer budget, but we have to realise what has been done is done, and we got to move on, new owners, new DOF, new manager isn't going to change anything imo, we're screwed over by poor decisons 4 years ago. This summers signings was probably the best we could get and have hindered us when really we should have been trying to reduce the wage bill even if that resulted in relegation, but if we did this, fans would have been kicking off because we haven't signed anyone, as they have done this January. PSR is killing us, thats the issue really
-
in a sense, I don't think there's anything he could have done to get a result, but changing formation to go more direct was a change and it may have worked, and he feels Soumare/Skipp are the best to do that, he trains with these players. Bilal does a lot of running but really doesn't create much, so fresh legs, more direct formation was worth a try
-
he changed the formation to 4-4-2 and doesn't think Bilal can play in a midfield 2, unless you think Bilal should have gone out wide instead of Ayew
-
think there's a fair few players that don't want to play for us, Ayew, Soumare, Faes, BDCR, i'd bet it's not a harmonious group which doesn't help, the season has gone badly wrong and is beyond repair, what gets worse is when you look at players like Coady, Ayew and BDCR, can you see them helping us in Championship next season
