  1. I find now the Euros are more enjoyable than the world cup
  2. Cottee was a very talented player. Dare I suggest he was a better finisher at his peak than Vardy, though obviously not a better all round player. Like Vards he had a superb understanding of space, but the kinds of balls he was latching on to were much more varied and unrefined.
  3. He was so good at closing down or nicking the ball off the opposition full back after a long ball forward. Offensively we were pretty one dimensional under Adams but it worked so well because of Dickov.
  4. Well he sold us out to the Americans which didn't help
  5. Lowe is quite interesting. Don't share many of his politics but he seems intelligent and importantly seems to have gone into politics to actually change things. Farage is obviously just a spiv who's interested solely in himself. Speaking as someone who is quite conservative and would generally prefer lower immigration levels, he's probably the worst thing ever to happen to politics in this country. Anderson is quite frankly thick as shit and also clearly a sad twat.
  6. Was thinking of starting a blog on milds Potential names: Mild at heart I would drink five hundred milds
  7. Superb pub. The old ale and the mild are to die for.
  8. In addition religion acts as a unifying force beyond national boundaries as well as binding us to and helping us understand our past. Those things are lacking in modern England.
  9. Maybe because our corruption is deeper and more hidden people get more disappointed by stuff like the Rayner story. The idea that a politician would resign because they underpaid tax on a flat is almost incomprehensible in the Balkans.
  10. Having lived a long time in South Eastern Europe I'm always impressed at how quaint Britain's political scandals are.
  11. Because he was suffering from injuries and his career was winding down. He was also excellent in the first half of his second season and was one of the reasons we were top. If we're talking 'ability', which is what the the thread is about, I think he's the.mody talented we've had in my lifetime.
  12. Can get confusing
  13. Gotta be Taylor. Rodgers at least had a good spell and won a trophy. RvN had mitigating circumstances. But there is nothing to redeem Peter Taylor.
  14. A lot I think
  15. England has always been pretty xenophobic but the 2010s I think was the first time that there was such an attempt to explicitly tie declining living standards with immigration and we apparently needed to accept these viewpoints being shared on the BBC etc for reasons of 'impartiality'
  16. Tbf we were thinking about it anyway for many reasons but the resurgence of Farage has made our minds up.
  17. My partner who's an immigrant and I are going to leave especially as we've just had a kid. Pretty obvious which direction the country is going in. Unfortunately have to get a visa now to live in Europe but better than staying here where we're worried about speaking another language on the street
  18. So probably the difference is much less than I made out in my post but I think Flowers was really underrated. I think he might have been the best shot stopper England had in that era but Seaman was perhaps more consistent and was elevated by the back four he played with. But when Flowers was on it he was almost superhuman. Banzai goalkeeping.
  19. Yeah Elliott was great. You couldn't design a better centre half. Really elevated us from a surprise package when we first got promoted to a top half premier League team, one that probably could've been top 6 with a deeper squad
  20. Flowers was quite comfortably better than Kasper imo, although obviously the latter has more legendary status.
  21. Two very talented players. Parker might be the best striker of a dead ball we've ever had. Was one of the best in England at the time. Lennon splits opinion for obvious reasons but is a Leicester legend for what he achieved and for how good he was. Was the engine of that team.
  22. Flowers Ricardo Kaamark Huth Elliot Fuchs Cambiasso Kante Izzet Mahrez Vardy Subs: Lennon Kasper Mancini (obviously the most talented but limited games) Tielemans Fofana
  23. Charming guy in front of me three years ago vs Spurs made a comment about Hitler having the right idea then offered me a haribo. Maybe it was the same guy.
  24. In my defence I was 12
