I don’t really buy this line - they made their fortune directly through their relationship with the Thai Royals. The Trestellar (sp?) deal wasn’t exactly squeaky clean with our FFP avoidance attempt in the early 10s. I appreciate that in Thai society you need to curry favour to get ahead, it’s shrewd - I’m not knocking it but hiding behind an idealised version of Vichai is a bit of a fallacy because it can’t be disproved either way. However I do think he’d have been far more decisive than Top ever had been which I think is what you’re saying (not being facetious).

The exact fee is splitting hairs. As for the priority, it's a safe assumption spending a pretty considerable fee first is more likely to be a priority than not.

Souttar costed us marginally more than Okoli will, Coady has extensively played in a back 3 (which the Okoli signing seemingly implies Cooper will play with 3), Vestergaard has just signed a 3 year deal, Nelson is pretty promising, JJ has probably played more at RCB/LCB than at fullback now. I'm not against spending the money on the right players, Richardson is exactly the sort of profile I'm excited by but Okoli isn't cheap. Our first priority is signing a recently relegated 3 atb CB for £10-15m. I don't think it's wise.

Not the most efficient use of wages, whicehver one (or two) we don't sell are going to be on a wedge. I was thinking the upside of Cooper is that he might actually utilise some of the assets we already had e.g Souttar/Coady. However if it's Faes we sell and if it's £20m+ we probably do ok out of this.

Uses his frame well to tackle, his reach (6'5) is impressive so manages to almost surprise opponents by the angle he tackles from. Reims bough him for circa £2m so £4m should do it - exactly the sort of player we should be in for. If we go down it's the sort of signing that won't immediately clear off either.

I actually quite like the break from drinking on a match day. It'd be a touch more palatable if they had good beer, local beer, it was poured quickly, it was fresh, there was safe standing so people aren't making you get up and down, it was better priced, you were served by somebody with some brain cells or it was in a decent plastic cup but besides that nothing to add

It's an excellent forum. Visually it's better than any other football forum by far and it's a breeze to navigate. There's a really active user base, some other forums (even with larger or comparable clubs) are so slow they must not be worth bothering with. Lots of active sub forums too which make it more interesting than just a moan about football. The number of fans from other clubs that regularly post I think is testament to how good FT is. I've met some some great mates directly/indirectly through the forum so hats off to you Mark.
