  1. Work experience kid vibes
  2. It’s what happens when your H&S manager is effectively best mates with Showsec
  3. They brought Liam Palmer on - played five at the back and then he’d come into midfield which completed cocked up our pressing pattern. This is no criticism of Enzo, just something I noticed that was quite clever by a coach to slow us down. Some of Rohl’s post match interview was quite technical
  4. SK1/Section great
  5. Outstanding first half with a crowd backing it. Wednesday made a clever tactical change by going five at the back and dropping a cb into midfield when in possession. Our press struggled a bit as a result until Enzo told Praet to effectively play as a striker. Bannan deserved applauds for somehow keeping Wednesday together.
  6. Give Rohl’s his due - his tactical tweaks made a game of it second half. Enzo took some time to get to grips with it.
  7. Yeah fitted their left wing politics to with Palestine flags in the end. The lad we met had been in the away end with them at Pisa, said they were nutters
  8. Cheaper £30 was the most I spent. £18 and £25 the others.
  9. I think your comments are bang on GF but would just say eventually you find the thing you like the most if you are a self-critical thinker. I know I am that annoying bloke cos I have brought up in about five threads but when I go somewhere like Italy as I did at the weekend, I remember exactly why I love it. I am still yet to find a team I could truly love abroad like LCFC but feckin hell, when I got inside Bologna's ground on Sunday, I felt like a nine year old again. The colours, the noise, the stadium, the away end. Most games in England feel like they are played in Sepia colour compared to that. The bit that hurts the most is that these stadiums aren't full of young blokes. To the right of me was a bloke with his young daughter, a couple of elderly blokes to the left and bunch of teenagers in front of me. The tickets are all the barcode/QR code, they have CCTV, they have fairly draconian rules in some cases but it still feels raw and unfiltered. Still soul exists. Football fans have failed the game here - horrible to say but can't help feeling it.
  10. The part about wanting to feel emotion was so well observed. The heart v the brain debate.
  11. I met the bloke once outside of football and had lots of admiration for his job which was assisting in a behavioural specialist school
  12. To extend then, great weekend. Helps that Bologna is an excellent city. Probably the most beer friendly city in Italy I’ve visited. The grub is outstanding across the board. Modena is a decent city as well - probably home of the best pub we went too. 1-1 there. Cosenza brought over 1,000. They are from Calabria which is 8 hours away. Sassuolo is a nothing club really. Got very lucky in finding a craft beer bar nearby the ground. Reminded me a lot of Reading. We’d bumped into a Bradford fan we had early been chatting to it and Tbf he made a great laugh. Another 1-1. Another away end soaked. Then Bologna. Well the ground is an absolute classic. Nifty side too. It just oozed gazetta. It’s beautiful to see how unruly it is yet still so inclusive. Walloped Lecce 4-0, aiming for CL and a huge derby on Wednesday v the Viola Basketball was added bonus. Crazy atmosphere really. Superb team as well - two ex NBA players looked a level beyond anything I had seen. Spent the night looking at how to make other Italian destinations work.
  13. Difficulty for them appears to be someone’s contract running down every season and they have to do a little mini rebuild every August
  14. Stroll in the park for Kristansen. Launched the counter attack for Bologna’s third goal. Handy team he’s in. Bizarrely they invert their CB as an extra midfielder in possession
  15. They took 5k Cov for the league and then drew them out two weeks later in the cup which went to replay hence 400.
  16. Last three weeks they’ve ended up back in the same form they were earlier on the season
  17. Yeah that was the dogs bollocks of a weekend
  18. The amount of Celtic fan tweets saying reliant on individual brilliance completely fits with his last two seasons here
  19. They did about this time last year. He was confident that LCFC could manage FFP because the talent on the books in event of a fire sale would lead to compliance.
  20. Thing is though those games start to become harder around about now as the bottom bunch fight to avoid relegation. Someone like Birmingham and Swansea are likely to click soon under a new manager
  21. Difficulty is getting to the south coast of Albania. It's about four hours from Tirana. You can do it via ferry from Corfu as well but you almost certainly need a car unless you are patient or have the money to arrange a transfer.
  22. Worth mentioning the singing section was introduced after a season ticket holder survey.
  23. Okay I'll go with what you think despite myself being told personally otherwise. If the case then we aren't running the football club in the correct manner or the standard manner other football clubs do. Scouts can get caught up in their own analysis and their own advice. Extremely dangerous to an extent. Who's agreeing the wages of new signings and contract renewals? Or whose approving them? Rudkin would still be required for negotiations - it would be appalling if he's going off the word from a scout what is right and what is wrong. The bloke needs to be aware of the going value for a player himself to say that deal is rubbish or when to pull of negotiations. If his role is sit above them , then he's the quality control and he's failed in that department since the summer of 2021. Alongside a disastrous spell between 2017 and Macia turning up (I have already mentioned when without the guidance of a Head of Recruitment he paid nearly double what he'd been advised on Slimani) . It's a waste of a wage if he's sitting there just being a conduit and waving through information. To be at that level of the hierarchy, there has been a responsibility on him to perform.
  24. The Overton Window/Discourse argument - legitimate argument that he's agreed transfer fees way over the market value. Alongside some very, very valid criticism to the topic here of LCFC going over the FFP allowance. If we used the same rationale, we'd have kept managers for years post success. For the record, I don't think this season should be particularly viewed as any great feat by those above Maresca. We are in an incredibly advantageous situation when arriving in the Championship this season.
