The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
CosbehFox replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
Did Lovstein Bergen Parkrun on Saturday - you would do very well to find a more picturesque view and equally do very well to find such a tough course. 'Monster' Hill must have only been ran up by 10% of those running. Cracking group of volunteers though. Managed to squeeze under 30 minutes, so very chuffed. -
Burnham’s intiial campaign video is exactly the talking up of this country which I want to see more of. Messages of hope rather than hate

True misread your first line!

It’s the other way around big decisions only get made when he can be arsed to participate in the running of the club.

Sat in Bergen airport for my flight back to UK. Strongest recommend of a city/country in a long time. Norway is expensive, alcohol more than Sweden and Denmark but it’s incredibly beautiful. A pretty standard fjord trip cost me £70 but was absolutely incredible

Both winners

FA with some significant chopping & changing to divisions. Quorn harshly put into Northern Premier while Step 5 with some lateral movement too. https://www.thefa.com/-/media/thefacom-new/files/competitions/2026-27/nls/nls-1-to-4-club-allocations-2026-27---v1-140526.ashx https://www.thefa.com/-/media/thefacom-new/files/competitions/2026-27/nls/nls-56-club-allocations-202627-v1-140526.ashx

That they could make the call of a single camera angle really doesn’t help the whole situation

I c Yep and normally clubs we might have done loan deals with. So Tranmere, Newport and Chesterfield possibilities

The amazing thing about the penalty decision is that VAR should only step in on a clear and obvious error. That the debate is raging hours after the game proves it wasn’t clear or obvious. VAR consistently gets too involved in the game.

In addition, FIFA recently decided on points deductions for Canada Women spying on their New Zealand counterparts. Southampton's argument is going to be it's an analyst gone rogue and that's why are asking for more time.

It's very weird. Almost worrying as though it's been checked legally. Or AI.

Who knows? I am fairly certain from my point of view that my days are numbered because there's a type of fan within football who just doesn't align with how I view football. I think LCFC might be the club which has fully translated over to that. I think it's a harsh reality that those who didn't renew had probably given up (well within their rights too) a long time ago. There's a debate still to be had for now that anger still needs to be seen and heard. I feel like some of our fanbase has used up the energy of wanting change far too early. Ownership changes are battles of attrition. Everyone pointing fingers at each other is exactly what's happened elsewhere at other clubs. The fanbase has to churn - we now just see how passionate that new generation are for Leicester City. It was always going to happen rather it's not happened in some traditional organic process it did for years sadly. It had to happen at some stage, now it's a case of seeing how it all plays out. The great irony of the split within the fanbase is that those advocating for change are apparently 2016 legacy supporters when the reality is you would have been a category 1% of season ticket holders if you started following more closely that season. The majority of those advocating for change from what I see had their early LCFC supporting years shaped by the impact of administration and the subsequent fall-out of that which led to the third tier but also their early childhood days were probably still at Filbo and had a sprinkling of footy before PL money really affected it. The advocacy for change is to avoid a similar administration or period where opposition fans can rightly say LCFC ripped off various businesses in the process. Those that are getting season tickets this year are likely to have their establishing supporter years to be 2016 - 2021, so interesting to see how that manifests as they will also been brought up in an era of characterless atmospheres.

No one here is calling out Enzo. Rather that Coady and a few of the players were not massive fans of Enzo and they were happy to say that privately. -

Coady wasn’t the only player with a similar view to that either. -
It was cited that he wasn’t happy with Sousa being in attendance with Mandaric at the Cardiff playoff semi final. But yeah you are right about him falling out with Hoos

In my experiences yes. Go to the runners store, get a gait analysis and have a chat about it. I used to love a tumble occasionally and had a heel strike. I got some Karhu’s with a pivot on them and it’s been all good since -

I know someone what did the Chester marathon and said it was hilly as hell. Combined with a freakish warm day in October, he said it was worst experience but nothing wrong with the organisation etc -
How do they solve the wrestling that goes on at set pieces

One player on each team has a cattle prod -
Not their greatest fan but their fan board do monthly financial updates for transparency

You take the one approach and say they don’t deserve it. But equally there’s going to be a lot of newbies there on opening day. I know one bloke (Man City fan through his dad) that was so chuffed to take his Leicester supporting 9 year old son. Theres a churn there that was probably needed as harsh as that sounds. We await to see how this manifests.

Pearson didn’t immediately bomb them out though didn’t he? He was playing Beckford, Danns, Mills and a few others for a good few months. He had to wait out transfer windows where he could replace them. You argue that’s the same as what’s was occurring with Faes, Winks and the two strikers for example. I love Nige but it was never perfect with him. There were long spells of really bad results and it was really a case of building a squad over 3 seasons which allowed it all happen, I don’t think any of the managers showed really anything outstanding but we aren’t even giving anyone the chance to rebuild over two transfer windows. We aren’t allowing anyone to really build. It’s always short term fixs
-
To be fair Marti twice bombed the twats out. His error was introducing them back in September after an August where we rode our luck but we had some youthful talent playing. Then he ****ed them off post Sheff United loss at home and we had a decent December. January the squad was crying out for a couple of additions on 1st January and we well & truly crashed off a cliff We’ve done this multiple managers now. By the time, someone gets handle on who’s toxic, they are let go rather than a bit of faith being given. It’s a complete shirk of responsibility by Rudkin and in the process actually shows his lack of confidence in his and Top’s managerial choices.

If he stays fair ****s, you’d divide the country even more with a new PM. He’s got twelve months now to start pushing some positivity. Politics at the moment is all about running this country down. It’s time for people to stay talking it up. I’m bored of the negativity. I’m bored of the noise Reform saying everything is shit.
