Good day for the county at Step 3. Harborough, Quorn and Barwell all won. Step 4 - everyone unbeaten including a win for Nomads. Went Harborough who were pretty stinky until their first goal and then they completely overwhelmed Needham Market. The talent coming for the bench is and will be too much for many teams. Much improved down the ground as well with more seating and terracing Although £15 felt steep but maybe that’s the league wide price now

I often have to screw my head back on when I remember that these complaints are from people who did go to Filbert Street and there was a Kop which was all around disorder at times. People screamed Shipman and Pleat out or the referee is a banker. Or were part of moments where we had ticker tape and flags. Killjoys in my opinion

I'll amazed if this isn't anything other than a disaster outside the ground on Sunday. Digital ticketing in full use with absolute minimal preparation such as videos or similar showing how it's done. Plenty are being caught out by thinking their existing card will work, but you need to apply for the card when you purchased your season ticket for this season and would receive a new one. Safe standing they've decided to go at with non friendly approach about ticket checks rather suggesting about assistance and encouraging it as the place for atmosphere. Sheffield Wednesday are somehow going to attempt to get you'd expect at least half of their away end in the ground 5 minutes after kick-off. -

Most other clubs would be showing it off and celebrating it. Not LCFC -

Removed a section of it from the away end cos they don’t have to give 3k tickets anymore, so it defaults to home seating and is in an area they charge their most expensive tickets to a demographic who prefer seating -
We need to sell. It's naive to think otherwise. That and West Ham have tried at least twice to sign him. Hence they did this whole thing with the Brazilian keeper. The departures so far I highly doubt would save the PSR issues. We are about to drop from a permitted loss of £83m to £61m. While at the same time, we immediately jump to the second year of parachute payment rather than the bumper first. The revenues from the Championship are greatly reduced on TV and match day. Also no sponsor at the moment. So I suspect more departures are required in reality. We aren't aware of how we were over the £83m for starters cos we could be beyond that and need to make better than a £16m gap.

Well not really that deal is inflated - it's £27 million but given Man City sold him to Burnley for £15m - the deal to Man City is more like £12m If we compare the deals of Kelleher £12.5m + add-ons and Petrovic at £25m, it's about right. Petrovic with the obvious benefit of immediate form, that's probably your £5m difference there.

Exactly my thoughts on Birmingham. The bluenose I know cites the cup game they played against Newcastle ressies. He said Blues were going 100% and Newcastle reserves just kept turning it on when they need too. He thinks the midfield is very lightweight and the defence isn't that strong.

Wilf had a release clause. I'd be holding any praise for the fella quite yet. We got rid of plenty last time we got relegated, that's the easy part. If it's the players that have remaining without any hint of deal what proves his worth.

Unfortunately as much as I think there's a reset in many ways required. The consequences of c20k crowds on the city and the club would be hugely concerning. If it doesn't click soon, financially it will get very tight within the club which would lead to a number of areas such LCFC Community, LCFC Women/Girls, other staff within the club, Seagrave staff all feel the initial burn. Football clubs see them add-on's which have the longest reach as the easiest thing to cull. Jobs going, livelihoods at stake. That's the most terrifying thing about this whole situation and why the 'they've done so much for the community and local charity' line really irks me. Because what is happening now is overweighting any money donation. Lower crowds means less economic benefit to the city, lower coverage for local businesses, low need for jobs. I say that as someone truly supportive that the fanbase needs a bit of freshness around but cough cough, tickets are available for Sunday and Preston, no one is taking them up......

There’s a football related clue in the third episode which is stupidly easy

Hate to be against the grain here. But I think we've done well to get £18m given his injury and subsequent form.

It's respective of the surrounding land though. Spurs is right on the main road while Arsenal is sat back a bit. Bernabeu is in a heavily populated area. Juventus is a surprise really as it's nothing area of town.

I don't think 7th is a bad shout for us at all. I am still scarred from when a good chunk of this team play utter shit at Plymouth, Millwall and Bristol City. We were utterly pants for a spell in 23/24. I don't think Ipswich bridge it but think Southampton will get better as the seasonn goes on. It's bit of an open season. Norwich look to have recruited really well.

Just the 45 minutes late on their launch event today. They are truly special.

It's the post-truth world. A lot of the pushback on the Trust message has been wrapped around thinking there is an issue with the Thai flag. When it's not, it's rather the message which was carrying (which had a Thai flag has a background).

Preston North End v Leicester City Aug 16th

There's literally a collection of great pub from the walk to the station to Deepdale. It's an incredibly good place for boozing considering its size. -
Three episodes and I've decided it's shite. The clues are too easy and a lot of the contestants are not very bright at all.

Wednesday will have had more bounce / training ground games than those three. -
There's no way my wife from middle Norfolk would have been able to, until approximately now at 32 looking at her friends. And that's in an incredibly fair to boring town. Parents all but gone, no money left behind. A huge demand on housing in a population which doesn't have the socio-pressures we do in larger cities.

I don't know whether anyone has noticed but young people already are sacrificing to maintain various things. There is a reason why city centres are increasingly dead. The culture of Friday night and Saturday night drinks is now a quarterly event. Going out for a meal a lot less frequent. Takeaways are reporting lows after a post covid boom. The idea that a few coffees and a Netflix subscription make the difference is largely null. People are already quitting a lot. In the process you create an economy which is stagnant. No one is spending money. So that affects decisions BoE makes etc. We are at gridlock in many ways.
-
Youd have a point but the delay is in part caused by the football club themselves.
-
Probably one of the best results in a long time for an Irish team in Europe. Shelbourne beat the Croatia champions, Rijeka away last night, 2-1 in the Europa League qualifiers.
-
They certainly don't play in the same depth as they did but the Aussies are generally well represented and will be even more so in 2027.

Correct. But the new board officially forms on the 1st October 2025 as that's when the two final franchises are sold to private investors. At the moment those investors involved are minority represented on the 100 board until that date. Hence it's only after that date they can formally make the format changes, the negotiation with TV etc.
