Won’t happen though. Especially after we smash newcastle next week 😂

Who would you keep for the Championship?

We’ve already got a thread on this. -
Leicester 0-3 Liverpool Post Match Thread

There is no doubt in my mind that the players care. They’re just not good enough. Losing to Liverpool is no disgrace. It’s expected. But to lose without even laying a punch is unacceptable with the attacking players we have. With that, we are definitely down. Heartbroken doesn’t sum it up. -
Am I going mad or is Salah usually shit against us? I seem to recall him scoring once but that’s about it I think?
-
Utterly depressing this. If we had kept it at 0-1 I’d have backed us to have a chance. We’ve got no chance from here.
-
Basic errors. Story of our season.

Heard on RL that Dean Smith had no idea who the out of contract players were before he joined. I smell BS on that anyway. But if it is true, I guess he’s just been told that Cags is off? 😂

Part of me thinks going down will be our best opportunity to rebuild. Newcastle are going to be incredible in a couple of years. This Brighton team are fantastic. Villa are becoming a real force again. We wouldn’t get anywhere near the top half even if we did stay up - which I don’t think we will. Maybe we need to go down and completely press the reset button. It’s really ****ing depressing though.

Championship Starting XI - First Game Of The Season

He’s not even good enough for the championship. The championship nowadays is a very different beast from the one we left 10 years ago. -
Championship Starting XI - First Game Of The Season

Iversen - already proven to be a top quality GK in the Championship and is young enough to accept another season at that level. JJ - only recently signed a long term deal and has injury problems so will have to stay. Ricardo - as above. Souttar - unless he has a relegation clause and some serious admirers he will stay. Faes - as above but I think he’s more likely to leave than Souttar as he will have made a name for himself in Europe so may just get a move, especially as he didn’t cost us a bomb. An offer of £10m would do it he was unhappy enough to kick off. Kristansen - will stay as he’s only 19 and has 5 years left on his contract. Luke Thomas - probably a blessing in disguise for him. He’s not a PL player so and at 20 years old will benefit from a season or two in the Championship. I don’t think he will improve enough to come back to the PL and establish himself but I’ll happily be proven wrong. KDH - genuinely loves the club and hasn’t been good enough to get a move away so will stay. He will be a class player in the Championship as he has already proven to be. Soumare - not sure if he stays or goes. Same boat as Faes and Daka for me. I’m not sure I’m bothered anyway. Can be great one game and truly horrific the next. Not a PL player. Also, just never really warned to the guy. Daka - I’m not 100% convinced that he would stay as, similarly to Faes, I think European teams will be interested. Would be great to have him as I think he’d smash the championship but I put him in the unlikely to stay column rather than the definitely gone one. Vardy - legend, GOAT, can do what he wants but will probably stay unless Sheff Wednesday offered him a 2 year deal. He’s under contract anyway so they’d have to offer a fee. However, if he wanted to go I think we would respectfully accept or maybe even release him as we did with Kasper. The rest of the current squad will all either move on because they’re too good for the Championship or because they’re out of contract. As shit everything is right now, if even 80% of my list stayed, with the right manager in place, we could come back up. There are some quality players in there. Despite how bad we have been this season. Likewise, we could go down and be down for the next 10 years. Who bloody knows, aye? -
There aren’t any. Close thread.

Won’t happen. Our fans are pathetic. They don’t cheer when we’re winning let alone protest when things are bad. That feeling is reflected by the players who also lack bollox. Im afraid we are down. Today has confirmed that.

Dean Smith New Interim Manager - Official

What’s changed in 5 games? We defended well in Deans first 3 games. We’ve been crap in the last two. The only reason why Everton didn’t beat us because they couldn’t finish. Not because we kept them out. How has it changed that drastically?! -
My thoughts exactly
-
I naively thought we would get a point today, lose the two in between and then beat WHU on the final day to stay up. It will be interesting to see how we react to this. We haven’t been battered for a while. It will more than likely relegate us. But let’s see I guess.
-
I honestly think we’re in deep shit whether we stay up or not. The situation at the club is so appallingly bad that I don’t think it can be rectified in the space of a summer.

Dean Smith New Interim Manager - Official

No blame should be attached to Dean. Look at the bunch of useless twats he’s inherited. -
If we insist on playing two CMS who aren’t CDMS we will continue to get opened up like a slut on heat. **** this club.
-
Before tonight I honestly thought Dean Smith had sorted our defence out. Now I’m not sure he has. We looked SO open in both halves with both set ups. The midfield was being bypassed with absolute ease. I don’t think the back 4 necessarily had a bad game and Iversen had an absolutely worldie (thank god). But what the hell was going on infront of them? The midfield was just non existent all night. If Everton weren’t so shit, we’d have lost that.
-
Why when he can pinpoint a free kick in to the top bin so consistently, did he go down the ****ing middle?! Just smash it or place it right in the corner. We know Pickford is short for a GK. I feel like we’re losing because we missed that. Bloody football.
-
I’ll never understand the negativity over team selection before a ball has been kicked. Always bewilders me.
-
We need to sing WYS beyond the recording loudly. It so often feels half hearted. I seem to recall it being loud against Roma last season. It needs to be even louder tomorrow night!
-
Having slept on it, it’s definitely a point gained. We were behind until the 79th minute. You can’t expect to win from there although if one teen was more likely across the full 90, it was definitely us. Worth mentioning that Barnes needed a game to come back from his injury which he has no had. We’ll be better for that on Monday. Some have said on here already but it’s true - beat Everton on Monday and I think we just need one more win. Assuming Everton and Forest lose this week.
-
Not sure why he deserves to be hated. He’s had a couple of poor games but he’s 20 years old for Christ sake. He’s been good overall. Definitely our best available LB.
