In all honestly, the fact that it’s taken until deadline day to agree this deal is shit. Every reliable source stated that Stoke wanted £15m weeks ago. Why didn’t we just pay it and get him in?! He could have played against Walsall as his first game rather than being chucked in to a tough PL game. Or not signing for us at all as the case may be…

I’m not being funny but if he wants to stay at Leeds ahead of us then he needs his head checking. They’ve been in a relegation battle since the day they joined the PL. We have a much more realistic chance of European football than they do. If we have to work hard to convince him then walk away.

I don’t know why some of you are so reluctant to sign someone just because of their height. I mean, that is so dumb. One look at the Stoke forum and you’ll see how much they love him. If they love him that much then he’s clearly too good for the championship. At 24 that tells me that he can progress nicely in to a solid PL CB.

We can’t be angry at the club for not signing Lookman and then spending in this window. They clearly thought that we could ride out this season with what we had and do the rebuild in the summer. That was wrong. But Top has flown in and the board/scouting team are working hard to save the club from going down. We could be annoyed (in fact, totally ****ed off) if they just sat back and allowed us to go down. But they’re not. I like the idea of signing Harrison for £20m-£25m. I think our squad improves drastically with him and it will kick Harvey up the ass. He’s had the left win to himself for 3 years without ever worrying about his starting place. He needs to know that if he drops his standards then there is someone behind him who will take his spot and Harrison has proven pretty useful over the years that Leeds have been in the league again.

Brendan implied pre match that he would be unlikely to play as he is carrying a knock. However, I think as soon as Tete is officially announced Perez will be free to fly to Spain for his medical and that will be that.

The sad thing about Perez is that I think he really cares. He always struck me as a thoroughly decent bloke. He consistently uploads pics to his Instagram on a game day, even when he was miles away from the first 11. I never ever felt that he was running around and not trying. He isn’t a great player but he’s been consistently played out of position and has never had a fair shot. Brendan has to take all of the blame for signing a player who finished as Newcastle’s top scorer the season before we signed him whilst playing as a 10 and then pushing him out wide. His finishing is supposedly brilliant but we don’t see it regularly enough and he’s a bit too lightweight for the PL. He also lacks pace. But he has tremendous feet and I think he’ll tear it up in La Liga. I bet he gets at least 10 goals and assists a season. He goes with my best wishes because he’s always tried and he’s never been treated well by us.
