Weird game to analyse - so I won’t bother. But what I will say is they are crap defensively and had we attacked them for a sustained period we would have beaten them. The disallowed goal was unlucky and would have made it a comfortable night. We just need to attack them for 45/60 minutes rather than the 10/15 minutes we managed. They crumbled so quickly under our pressure.

Love little wesley to pieces - he’s a fantastic player with a huge heart and desire to impress us every week. He is an absolute warrior of a player and someone every fan of every team would want. But, the way he handled his exit from ASSE to join us wasn’t very mature. He dropped numerous hints on Instagram, asked to leave in interviews and was just a general nuisance until they agreed the sale. I believe he carried on training and playing to his best which is commendable but the off field antics weren’t good. It’s for this reason that I have said since day one that he will force a move away from us one day and we just have to accept it. I wish footballers would refrain from giving interviews like this though, it’s so unnecessary.

Lots more positives than negatives there. I hate losing but I’d rather lose a game like that then the diabolical performance at westham. Cags looked much better than what we’ve seen this season. Evans back, Vestergaard great performance for 60 minutes. And Lookman looked very lively. The only real negative would be Kaspers constant wayward passes and the fact that we didn’t capitalise when we were on top but we did just play the best team in the country. Bring on Napoli.

I personally think the athletic is great. Rob Tanner is a bit hit and miss but the articles about football and the premier league generally are well worth the subscription fee.

Syoncu’s form isn’t bad, it’s horrendous.

Why are people assuming that he’ll be second choice RW behind Perez? Have you not seen perez play on the right? Lookman will be first choice ahead of Perez any day. Perez’s will a useful player to have as backup to Maddison off the bench.

Cags does look better with evans next to him. But, he doesn’t play with Evans for turkey and is still their no.1 CB. In fact, in the euros when turkey were so poor I actually thought that cags was really solid. Also, amartey is actually playing well at the moment so there is no need for cags to be “covering” for him. He’s just playing sh*t consistently.

I appreciate that money doesn’t grow on trees but this will be the first summer in I can’t remember how long that our net spend will actually be bigger than our profit from transfers. I can’t understand why we’ve not got enough money to just sign that RW that we all know we need without having to raise funds first.

BR always compliments our sports science department. I appreciate that he would never openly criticise them but he actively goes out of his way to praise them publicly so he must believe that they’re great at what they’re paid to do. Having said that, if Brendan does overwork the players then it’ll be his fault more than the sports science team meaning he would blindly believe that he is doing what is best for the team.

He’s linked and he plays football in Perez’s position. That’ll do it for me.
