It’s a decent investergaard from us. Bad jokes aside, I haven’t been over the moon with this link but I think I’ve come around to the idea that he will improve our squad. Better to have him than to not. Furthermore, BR will improve him, even though he’s already 29. Ralph Hassenhuttel (can’t be arsed to spell it correctly) is a really odd manager. They’re either very very good or horrendously bad and there doesn’t seem to be an in between.

His last competitive game was only just over a month ago at the euros at least. Thankfully he wasn’t off in Greece somewhere so hopefully won’t have lost too much match fitness.

I don’t know what you’ve seen that I haven’t but big Dan as we keep calling him is a bomb scare. He played well on Saturday, no doubt. But he’s an awful footballer and someone who will cost us points this season. Please bear in mind that on Saturday he didn’t have a striker to play against. Wait until he has to defend against the strength and aerial ability of Jiminez or DCL or against the pace of Ings. He will struggle big time.

I’m not smug about it. I wouldn’t walk up to a saints fan in the street and start singing about winning 9-0. I can quietly enjoy it in the comfort of my own home like any Leicester fan would and should. As for the deeney thing, it doesn’t bother me and shouldn’t bother you. Their back 4 and CDM would get in to most sides the league. It was only a second string team in a few positions.

Yesterday’s result could have two impacts on Top - 1.) he thinks that what we have now is enough and so we don’t need to spend too much on a new CB 2.) winning against the champions and winning at Wembley again whilst also keeping a clean sheet further convinces Top and the board that BR is worth the money he asks for as he will take this team to new heights (he has already tbf) I for one hope it’s the latter. But I doubt we’ll spend £20m+ without someone going through the exit door.

There’s no way in Gods green earth that we’ll spend £28m - £38m on a CB at this stage of the window.

Just did my lateral flow test (despite being double vaccinated). I understand that Cahill on a free isn’t exactly glamorous but let’s think for a second. How many times did Johnny Evans gets injured last season and as a result Syoncu and Fofanna looked lost without him? See Newcastle at home last season for example. I know we won the FA cup final without him for 60 minutes but I genuinely believe that Syoncu will need that experience and calm head to help guide him through this season. However, we will need more than one CB anyway, but especially if we sign Cahill. He’s 35 and won’t be able to play every week.
