I believe I said I wouldn’t play him. I’m merely stating that, purely based on statistics, he was in the top 1% of strikers in the league per minutes played.

I’m not saying we should play him but you are right and in fact his numbers were even better than that. He had limited minutes so his actual goals per 90 stats are even better. He average about 0.6 goals per 90 minutes. That’s about 25 goals a season. I’m not saying he’d get that and I’d still rather us get a different striker but his stats really were quite impressive last time we were in the championship.

Tbf, his stats in the Championship per minute were pretty exceptional.

I’d agree. Maybe not the team I’d pick but I agree on paper it’s probably our best 11.

I kind of agree. But I couldn’t place him above Kante in terms of actual ability. To me Kante is the best player to have ever played in his position when at his peak. And Vardy is, well, Vardy. It make me feel dirty inside to claim anyone is better than him. But aye, Mahrez was a phenomenon.

We’ve only had two players “better” than him in our entire history. Kante and Vardy. Insane that all three came along at the same time. Legend. X

Donnarumma scored zero goals and got no assists, and it a better team.

A genuinely world class player (at his peak) playing for this team is one of the most depressing things I’ve seen as a Leicester fan.

When he plays his numbers are amazing. Shame he’s had a stop start season or two. He’s a phenomenal player and I’m happy he’s doing well. Obviously it’s gutting that it’s not for us. But pleased for him.
