A little bit surprising. Carrick seemed to play his full backs like wingers, he reaped the rewards with Ryan Giles. Doesn’t fit the same profile and personally always felt he was best in a flat 4. He does have good delivery though so hopefully they can unlock the ability for him to get up and down the flanks a little more effectively

next season would be perfect, it would slightly make up for them sneaking that champions league place
