  1. Truthfully, they would be better off not going up this year. Probably like us after the watford game, one more year in the championship would allow them to create something with a better chance of staying in the prem. You can just see that the quality isn’t quite there all over the pitch. But then again luton are doing alright, so maybe you can get away without the quality these days.
  2. not in that game they weren’t. I was expecting more from them, maybe it has something to do with the short turn around after the leeds game though.
  3. honestly the worst bit of business the club has ever done…. by some margin as well
  4. so weird. I don’t understand why billy sharp was never the top scorer in the prem
  5. nah, they can p*ss off for me. Don’t let the little rats win
  6. Well that’s completely ignoring the step up in division. knockaert had better numbers than demarai in the championship as well, didn’t do more in the prem though
  7. I don’t want to be negative because he has been great and doing just what we need… but does anyone else just get the Demarai Gray feels? I just don’t think he will consistently enough make either the right decision or have the ability to execute the cross or finish. he will get about 1/3 of the opportunities in the prem… he’d get the odd goal but i don’t think he will be more consistent than Gray. I hope i’m wrong, because i like the bloke and he works hard. I just can’t shake the feeling though
  8. he’s a number 10 that we are trying to make an 8… simply because fatawu is better than I think we expected him to be. Very naive to bring him on yesterday given the context of the game… even more strange when we’d brought on casadei as well. Enzo clearly felt comfortable
  9. just felt like a standard nacho hot or cold performance to me. He was a few inches away from a sublime bit of play that could have led to a goal… didn’t happen for him this time but how often have we seen him coast before pulling something special like that off ?
  10. what’s funny, is the same old gammon crying that he didn’t foul him there, are the ones that were crying that hamza made the foul vs middlesbrough. There’s not a correct thing to do in the moment. Be stronger, make it harder for him… sure. But whether or not a free kick or a long distance pop is more dangerous… that’s not really clear. It’s just an incredible bit of luck
  11. why was the ref so terrified to make any real decisions? Nothing worse than a passive ref whos been instructed not to ruin a big game .
  12. I think the issue with all of them is the arrogance. They go in and think they know it all and in reality you need to humble yourself and expect to learn everything from scratch. All of them had eyes on bigger jobs and never truly wanted to learn the ropes. I had high expectations of gerrard but in a similar fashion to rodgers, his stubbornness to change will always hold him back
  13. he looks so well suited to the lcb role. I wouldn’t be looking to sign one now
  14. i’d take a draw but i think we are going to win
  15. the way leeds play is a lot more open than southampton, ipswich and ourselves. Part of the consistency we’ve had is that we control games. It might be more boring than the leeds style but it definitely is more reliable for grinding out results on bad days. When you have the quality that the top 4 sides do, than you just need to stay in the games sometimes and that quality will eventually pick up the wins. basketball football will get you eventually and that’s why i think leeds keep dropping random points
  16. I think in any usual season, both leeds and southampton walk the league to the title. Or at the very least top 2. It always felt that this year would be the strongest the league had ever been. Big clubs coming up, bad teams dropping to league 1. Strong, established prem teams coming down (none of the promoted clubs) and then the 3 teams going up are all small sides. It was always going to be interesting but it really does paint a picture of just how good ourselves and ipswich have been to be breaking the records we’ve been breaking.
  17. it’s a real shame balogun was being touted about last year. I still think we will go back for nico gonzalez and utilize him in that role
  18. https://www.facebook.com/share/XcTzFW9YUSYcSAZi/?mibextid=K8Wfd2
  19. I want to keep him
  20. firstly you can’t judge someone on 1 pre-season game… but if we want to use it as a measurement… let’s use it to see how much he improved after being involved for a few weeks. @SecretPro probably one for you to watch as well. Because he wasn’t doing anything close to this for the under 23s before but with a tiny bit of enzo coaching and the confidence … look at what he can suddenly pull off. The talent is absolutely there… let’s just hope he applies himself in the right way https://x.com/lcfcshitposting/status/1735424764628312299?s=46&t=H7AM719H02E3Z1cWferAgA
  21. with the form wilf has shown, it would be ludicrous for us to not have have slapped an offer on the table for him
  22. Am i the only one that wouldn’t be too concerned. I think with the way we play, if we ended up playing Yunus, Mcateer or even Casadei as a false 9, we’d be fine for a period. Wouldn’t get away with it in the prem, but there’s no reason they couldn’t fill the role we are currently using the striker for.
  23. already have mate. It’s called entrepreneurship. To get to the gold tier you have to be a bank and no matter how shite you are, the government will bail you out at the expense of the people you’ve fleeced for their whole lives.
  24. Decided to treat a weekly acca as my lottery ticket. £2 on every game in the championship or occasionally lower leagues going with my gut feeling. Pretty wild that my first 2 weeks were for £35k and £54k The odds of getting 12 footy results is miles better than random balls coming out in the order you need. just need to get one right in 17,000 weeks and i make a profit Last one was 4 games off… which isn’t exactly needing a miracle.
  25. I’m sure that’s not accurate, because they won’t be counting should be pens etc. No way they’re going back to moments like the one faes caught a players leg and it’s just a corner, without much protest. But irregardless, the game is better without the interference. fans of teams are also better weathered to just get on with it. Can’t remember seeing people cry over any decisions the way arsenal have been… partly down to the fact that perfection isn’t expected without var. I’d like to think without var, artetas moaning after newcastle would have been a little more subdued…. maybe not though as he’s a class A c you next tuesday
